I am going to apply to the University of Tübingen, Masters in Astro and Particle Physics.

How are my chances with GPA 3.4, 7.5 IELTS and research experience (no publication yet)? Also, how quick do they respond after the application deadline on 15 July? I want to be more sure since I got DAAD scholarship and must apply to visa earlier.

Where can you find vending machines with barbecue food for spontaneous barbecuers in Tübingen and the surrounding area?

I've got my hands on a guitar but one string is missing, is there a place in Tübi that sells guitar strings ? And possibly somewhere that can put one on for me ?

My introverted a** is too shy to ask in person: I want to buy a ticket of 10 for the pool as a student to get a discount before I will hand in my Exmatrikulation in a few days. Is it possible to use it after my Exmatrikulation ? Or will they always ask me for a student ID? Thank you! <3

I was going to apply to Tuebingen for the MSc in ML program, but realized there's no way to send LoR requests to recommenders from within the site (I can only upload LoRs on my own). While I'm positive my recommender will write very positive things, I'm not sure if they will be willing to share it with me.

I wanted to ask the following:

1. Are recommendations really important for admission as an international student?
2. Is there any way I can ask the university to send a LoR form to my recommender? I must have the typed drafts that my recommender used but without the signature. Can I submit them on my own?

I am thinking of applying next year for the programme but I have some questions/ concerns about the math side of things. I do complete the math credits by a lot. What my concern is though, is that my math grades are not particularly great (I have about 8.25/10 average on the mentioned courses of the site). Do you believe that's below of what's expected of students in the programme? Also I have minimal experience in doing proofs, that does not concern me though because I have time to focus on that. What bothers me though is how they access your ability of writing proofs considering the course for maths are in the first year of studies for many universities.

I've just received a scholarship to attend an intensive German course in Tübingen for the month of August, run by the university. The university has offered to provide me with a single room in a student dorm for 430 euro for the month, as optional accommodation. I'm wondering if this is a deal worth taking them up on?

My thinking is that, since it is August and very few students will be in Tübingen, I could probably find a WG room for a cheaper price with relative ease. Do you think this is sensible, and I should look for a WG room, or should I just stick to the university offer?

And a secondary question: what will Tübingen be like in August? Not many people around, I'm assuming, but very pretty :)

Hello, people of Tübingen. I was just in your beautiful city, and had a great time. However, one thing that has been gnawing at me is this gravestone I found at the Hohentübingen castle, near the observatory.

I know what the text means (I understand German a bit), but I would appreciate any knowledge about the gravestone itself. Is it even a gravestone? Is it a modern art piece? How old is it, who made it and for whom etc etc. There is no name on it, as far as I can see. On the back side is a cross. Google reverse image search turns up no useful information.

I apologise in advance if the query seems naive or inappropriate.

Hi, ich bin 29 Jahre alt und würde gerne wieder mehr singen, habe als Teenie in einer Band gesungen. Bin jetzt sicherlich kein Supertalent aber kann schon was (Man sieht, ich weiß mich zu verkaufen). Außerdem bin ich leider recht schüchtern, stage fright inbegriffen, habe aber auch etwas Bühnenerfahrung.
