Hey guys, I am looking for more ways to expand my truffle export business. I've started dealing with this recently and I found a few customers for my black summer truffles, but now I am looking to expand by selling white truffles as well. Since they are very expensive, and the market is quite specific, it's really hard to find a market for them, by using the normal means (facebook, google, etc...) I tried using them, but ended up wasting a ton of money, so I thought that the people who come here, to read this forum, come here specifically for that, and I was hoping some of you could point me to the right direction for my white truffle exporting business. I've also attached a picture of the truffles that were harvested in the past week. By the way I am from Bulgaria (Europe)
Hello, I’m wondering if anyone knows any good stores in Pisa, Florence or Milan that sell truffle hunting equipment?
I'm in croatia right now and I couln't find information if truffle hunting is allowed or not? I know that export of truffle is not allowed but what about hunting and selling what I found?
I’ve been searching areas in the uk using a map which shows soil types. When I find a forest/woodland that I think looks good and has chalk underneath it always seems to be slightly acidic… but the areas around it are still nearer alkaline. Is the woodland increasing the acidity? And would the truffle still grow in these slightly acidic conditions? It seems like even places known for truffles like Savernake forest are slightly acidic.
Thank you to anyone who can help. I just really want to take my dog out into a good spot!
Greetings from Bulgaria!
Andy is my dog I have trained it by myself - last year approximately at the same time of the year he found his first truffles. With time things are getting better and better!
I’ve been trying to start a specialty food store and this person from Turkey says they can supply me with them for resale. 17.5 usd per oz Tuber Borchii.
Does this sound legit, and what other details should I be asking?
I’m Latvian but now I live in Austria and I was wondering if I can make truffles (T. Melanosporum) adapt to a soil ph of 6.6 and a colder climate so I started to put spores in a jar with everything they need but each jar has a different soil ph and different temperature and if y’all want to y’all can join my subreddit at r/UselessTruffles
I have a 3 years old border collie, we have plenty of time and we definitely enjoy hiking. Dog is smart, learns fast, know advanced tricks too. How long would it take for him approximately to learn trufflw hunting? I mean two months or a year? What’s your experience?
So ive been looking for hours and ive found 0 evidence of ferrets hunting truffles, they have a great sense of smell but are purely carnivores, although they love things like sugars, fats, and pretty much all meats, they even like dairy stuff and cereals wich they should definitely not eat… so im thinking maaaybe its possible but like i said i cant find anything involving ferrets and truffles.
I hope someone here can help me here. If not il try to get some truffles and tryyy to train my 2 ferrets by assimilating their treats to truffles, hopefully this could work because they are natural diggers aswell and i live closeby to a place with alot of truffles.
We have a logatto that is a bit of an expert truffle hunter. He found his first at 10 weeks old with no training -- just watching his mom do it -- and we do nose work to train him to find morels and truffles all the time at home.
Every time we go to the woods, he finds truffles without fail. It's unbelievable.
Anyways, I'm working on a PhD in physics and will be done in like 2 years. I'd like to spend a season or half year hunting truffles after I finish. How can I do this?
I have the freedom to move around europe and the US freely due to nationalities.
Are there any books that have details about how to find Appalachian truffles?
I recently moved to East Tennessee, relatively close to a truffle farm, and yet when I ask the locals, no one seems to know what I am talking about. I'd love to go into the mountains here and hunt. I'd love to hear from a local about where they hunt or go to the farmers market and pick up some fresh local truffles, but it I can't seem to find anyone who knows that truffles are here in Appalachia. Does anyone have any info, or tips on how I might find out?
Hi There, can you recommend me the best truffle oil to train dogs with (the individual product maybe a link)? ive been searching around but cant find any results but im sure you can help me
