Hi! Where is the best place to get out and take my kids sledding now that we have enough snow (and a snow day!)?
I’m just looking for a quiet(ish) gym that allows kids (13+) to go to with my brothers. I know there’s planet fitness but I don’t know how quiet that is around 12-5.
Hello. 65yo, member of the LGBTQ community who foolishly thought there was no way Trump could win is feeling anxious. Hoping there might be something out there. I’m primarily in the Charlevoix/Emmet/Cheboygan region
Looks like we can get a permit for national forest land down near Cadillac, anyone know if we can do anything similar for land closer to TC instead of the tree farms??
My parents are spending their first winter in TC in 15 years. My dad recently found out that his cancer is back. He is starting daily radiation treatments at Munson. They are in their 80’s and I’m worried about them driving if the weather is bad. They live out in Deepwater Point, near the Resort, and they’d be traveling into the main hospital on 6th Street.
I have a call into his care team at Munson to see if they have any transportation services we can access.
Just curious if anyone has one to recommend?
Thank you!
I’m looking to see if anyone knows of any nerdy type events or things to do in the city? Maybe video game or anime related?

Does anyone know if this trail is snow plowed? Mainly asking about the west side by the college.
I was looking around to see about any of the ‘cheaper’ apartments here? Any opinions on the sugarplum apartments, village glen apartments, and the bay hill apartments/townhomes? I know it all goes off availability etc but I’m curious about opinions and safety? If there was any other apartments in town or around town I’d be interested in, I do have a dog though. Thank you in advance!
I’m sure you’re all sick of these posts, but I’m moving up north to the TC area from downstate & need recommendations on snow tires vs great all season tires. I’ve lived in southeast Michigan my whole life, so I’m used to driving in that kind of snow, but not northern Michigan snow. I drive an AWD Subaru Crosstrek & I’m in need of new ”summer tires” as well, hence why I’m hesitant to buy two new sets of tires lol.
Totally understand snow tires are the gold standard, but would I be able to handle my first winter in brand new, good all-seasons? Or should I bite the bullet and get snow tires? Recommendations appreciated as well! Thanks.
Just getting back into it. A bit old so looking for easy runs for now. Hoping to get out tonight.
Howdy,
I’m an alt teen and I’m just curious if there’s any place where I can meet other alt people?
I find it so hard in this area there doesn’t seem to be any actual alt areas.
Just a note of thanks to folks here for making our community a more interesting and thoughtful place to exist. It's nice to see a community (TC reddit) where we all can have a civil conversation about the daily life we live. Enjoy your day or weekend.

Any advice for a first timer riding the MSB race in May? Also would like to hear what bikes y’all ride for this race.
Kudos to TC’s Mutual Gas for not raising prices this week, or a few weeks ago, when all of the other gas stations raised them 15 - 30 cents. Guess we know who’s looking out for locals.
Gobble Gobble.
Family plans fell through and I need something to do. This one seems like a good bet: https://upnorthlive.com/news/local/volunteers-needed-to-help-feed-hundreds-on-thanksgiving-day
but if there's another that you have had a good experience with, I'm all ears.
