https://www.rwcentral.com/files/file/716-nouveaux-sons-pour-le-tgv-r%C3%A9seau I installed tgv sound mod for tsc2024 in a right way,but it doesn't work. Honestly, I don't know if I did well
Hi. I played Trainz yeeeeears ago when i was a kid, no idea what version. I'm also a model railway guy when I can find the time. And love simulation games (trucks, farming, train sim world etc). That's the profile out the way - pleased to meet you!
I'm thinking about getting Trainz 22 Platinum, but I must admit that the price tag, and the steam reviews, are making me hesitate. The main issues I'm seeing are problems with the download manager and constantly missing assets?
What I want:
- A good editor with lots of content for me to be able to make my own either small scale or large networks of railways. Also, I don't care too much about graphics but they can be nice.
- Being able to drive in a not-necessarily-realistic way, but to be able to operate the trains from the cab or chasing view following timetables, passengers, cargo etc. Also maybe be able to walk around in the world.
- Be able to set timetables for other trains.
- Multiple time periods.
- A selection of existing routes where i can jump in and run operations, complete scenarios etc.
From the research I've done Trainz seems to be what I'm looking for, but price and especially steam is scaring me off. Is it really that bad ? Also not seeing a huge amount of content on youtube which surprises me.
Thanks for your help!
Edit: i have an ok pc setup but nothing crazy
Howdy, I'm interested in making a simulation of a model railroad. Is there a simulator or builder that uses Unreal Engine 5, to get all the graphic goodies it has to offer? I don't want to build it from scratch in Unreal Engine 5.
I hate to accidentally buy a dated game tech but well advertised route lol. If I wanted to test the water with this sim, what is the best things to get? I dont mind spending money, Just want to make sure I dont give the game a bad chance cause I picked something that was dated, or only did a free route that is pants compared to some of the paid options.
I dont mind location, Just want good train operations in cab and decent things to do on the route (if this game works that way )
What do you all recommend?
Circa 2000, I used to play a train game that involved a lot of yard activity, such as switching railcars and preparing trains for their journey.
There was a lot of shunting activity where I could operate the locomotive using the cab view mode. (The graphics and controls were quite good)
I used to play the game on a PC that ran Windows Me and I recall installing the trial version of the game from a PC magazine which offered freeware and trial software on CD's along with the print copy.
It was only a few months later that the Microsoft train simulator was launched.
Thanks!
So I am in the process of making a scenario in TS where you drive the Caledonian Sleeper And I'm wondering if anyone has or can point me to information that shows in what order the cars are arranged?
Thanks
You’d think by now train sim devs would’ve figured out how to make a game where the train doesn’t derail just by looking at a switch, right? Like, why is it so easy to crash, but so hard to run a simple route without the game turning into a glitchy mess? We’re not asking for much - just for the train to stay on the tracks... for once!
There was this old game I used to play a bunch after stumbling on a video of it on YT. It's called something along the likes of "Steam Train 6" or something like that. It was a top-down train simulator of the early days of American steam, the top half of your screen was a top-down view while the bottom half was a side POV of your engine. And the two halves were split by a bar that showed the statistics of your locomotive (like sand, water, coal, speed, etc). And you'd choose an engine in the menu (the default engine was a red 4-4-0 class locomotive) and sometimes you'd be tasked with running passenger trains, letter/parcel trains, and goods trains.
I'm basically wondering if anybody knows what I'm talking about and knows how to find it because I really want to play it again.
Should I get tramsim rn for 15, i feel like itll be fun but in like 1 to 2 hours ill get bored
I’m not sure if this is the right sub or not. So I started using the google maps api and everything is working out great, I imported the correct terrain data but for some reason tracks from the overlay directly bend up because of the terrain and in real life for example the tracks at the station don’t bend down and I’m thinking why does the terrain bend down… is it a terrain error or do I need to actually gradient the track according to google which in my opinion looks bad as it doesn’t match real life.
I'm a management sim junkie and have played 4 or 5 different flavors of Railroad Tycoon style train sims over the years (decades?). Growing up, my grandparents lived in the LA metro, and every once in a blue moon we'd go on a road over a stockyard, and it was really what hooked me on trains. But to my knowledge, no train sim has functional stockyards or switchyards. Sure, you can 'paint' them, but they don't do anything. Is there any non-driving train sim that has real, functional 'yards that you build?
I'd even settle for not being able to manually build all the details and just plop a big object (though it'd be amazing if I could tackle the details myself). Thanks!
Trainz 19 has been crashing after a few seconds. It’s not even when I click “Start Trainz”, it’s in the launcher. I open it, it stays for like 5-7 seconds, and then crashes. HELP ME!!!

Does anyone know how to make an automatic train driver script in TS2022? I'm not sure how to do it exactly
I've been wondering if it's still fine to purchase from his site. I'm not sure if it is but I want to be sure just in case. As I do plan to buy some of his content.
