Gifs of literally anything that's shot as a time lapse - video sped up to compress a long time of shooting into only a few seconds.

Guidelines

• GIFs only - This includes gifv - essentially any animated image format that can be shown natively by a browser or embedded in Reddit. Posts from YouTube or anywhere that requires leaving Reddit to see the GIF play will be removed.
• Short, silent - only a few seconds, no audio
• Time lapses only - things that took a lot longer to happen than to watch
• Designate original content with [OC] - OC is anything you filmed yourself. Posting others' work is totally cool though! Please consider posting a comment in the thread to provide a link to the original source.
• Include real-time duration in [brackets] (if known) - e.g. if a gif shows 4 hours of action include [4 hours] in the title. Not required, but it helps!
• NO SPAM - See Reddit's general guidelines on self promotion / spam

Purpose

This subreddit is designed as an outlet for amateur time lapse photographers. Filming time lapses, like any other form of photography, is all about trial and error... but each trial can take hours, days, or longer.

Creating fully produced time lapse videos that tell a story generally requires several different time lapse clips to be interesting, and that can be a daunting task for those just getting started.

This is a place for such time lapse aficionados to embrace the short-form time lapse. Compress your filming down to a few seconds to be watched in a loop, post it here, and let the world enjoy the fruits of your labor!
