Hi, I bought Cold Steel boomerang, and woneder, what would been a good target or how to make it, I dont want to waste money on melons or pumpkins as I even do not have good source and do not want to buy, maybe someone can help with an idea how to construct or craft some interesting fun target
Thanks guys!
Hi, Im looking for something to throwing, other than knives, Im very much interested in all sorts of exotic weapons, not only for throwing. Would like for example ask about Cold Steel products, do they offer something really interesting for throwing or should I look elsewhere?
Im also interested in boomerangs for quiet long, but never tried Aboriginal woomera and those rabbit hunting sticks, is it interesting and fun, for example to try at backyard, if its worth the purschase...
I know that Cold Steel offers boomerang and some other throwing stuff, but no idea, where to look, they have quiet wide range of products. Anyone experienced with their weapons may give me advice better said, I would really appreciate it!_ Thanks to everyone willing to help!
It's a scissor blade
Was able to start fixing the tips up using a concrete step sort of like a makeshift sharpening stone or file. Still pointy enough to stick in targets.
Need a flatter target surface so they don’t possibly ricochet towards anything harder than wood or dirt.
Made out of an old Nicholson file
So I got a Honshu Kunai set a while back with some Christmas money. Barely got to use them. Barely got three throwing sessions out of them in the backyard of my cousin and his wife’s place. Using a tree as a target.
Now I’m pet sitting for them and just went to throw the knives and all three of the very tips got fuckin rolled.
Not even doing anything wrong with them not throwing them at anything that isn’t suitable as throwing knife targets.. not all my throws stuck but they never directly hit anything hard
I’m sad now.. I should get more than three sessions out of a good throwing knife set before having to do maintenance…
Even if I can sharpen those tips again they’ll never be the same as out of the box….
Hi all, I am new to knife throwing. Sorry for my bad english, is not my first language. Yesterday I bought my first set and I tried them in the garage, but the noise of the knifes falling on the floor, or the wooden boards on the surface on which they are placed is really high and rumbles. Since I live in a residential complex I need to find a way to muffle this, do you guys have some tips? I read the using a few cardboards as a target could help. Thanks in advance
You died.
A 3" x 5" thrower, shuriken are illegal where I live and I wanted something with a guaranteed stick. This has a %99 stick rate. Law says a shuriken has no handle, this does. In fact you can hold it as a melee weapon. It's compact but has that satisfying stick. I'm classifying it as a multi-tool, it's definitely NOT a thrower 👀
DISCLAIMER: this is meme and satire, in Roblox, not to be taken seriously. 😉 Please do not try at home, I cannot guarantee immunity to your local laws. This item was made as a decorative piece and I will be carrying six of them because it's part of my religion 😜(don't ask which one, you discriminatory person) and you're racist and or whatever if you say otherwise because that's how the backwards law works where I live and people get away with stuff like that all the time. 🤡 Anyway have fun out there!
Out of all my knives, I throw best w/ an Ontario Knife Company 499 Survival Knife. It has a 5” blade, 9.5” OAL, weighs 1 pound according the the OKC web site - but very well balanced. This is the model w/ the leather handle. It is now selling for over $50.00 - a bit much for a throwing knife.
Can anyone recommend a throwing knife w/ similar specs in the under $50.00 range? Or, do I just bite the bullet and get another?
Thanks!
I just stumbled across this sub and it seemed like a good place to ask: if I live in suburban Maryland and want to practice throwing knives (starting from absolute novice level), how should I go about it? I see people posing images of logs and cardboard they’ve used as targets…can I just start doing that whenever? Is there anyone I have to notify or anything like that?
