I rewatch every live where Take Me Back To LA appears on YouTube and more I watch them, more I’m impatient for the song to come out ! I almost cried when I watched it a few minutes ago
He meant everything from the begging
The album is called HUT, and all of us have been waiting for the album for 4 months, but the album hasn't been released yet, so he wanted to tell us that he wants tomorrow to hurry, but it didn't.
Yeah, Its my opinion. be rude and disrespectful to me all you want. I just think everything The Weeknd has released up until this rollout has been significantly better.
I feel like most of us already knew but this Mike Dean story confirms it. I feel like these songs are out of place on the album on purpose because it represents The Weeknd as a character coming back and his sins trying to corrupt Abel. Timeless being his pride and São Paulo being his lust. The songs themselves are great and I can’t wait to see how all this ties in for HUT’s story.
Can someone tell me the order to see the MVs?
I got a priest, he got a cross Get out of line, send him to God' 🔥
The crowd noises make it so much better imo especially at like 4:28 when there’s a break he tells the crowd to make some noise and they go ballistic gives me goosebumps everytime
For an artist as BIG as Abel, you'd think he'd keep to the industry standard to releasing music generally on a Friday.
Halloween, a Thursday, with an overall horror feel.
Then it dawned on me. If we're breaking industry standards, Christmas.
But we want to Hurry Up Tomorrow.
Christmas Eve.
Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk.
“With this money comes problems and with these problems come solutions. And I use ‘em, when I’m faded I forget…forget what you mean to me…Hope you know what you mean to me.” 🐐
Anyone know the reaction channel name that Abel just posted on his story ? His reaction is classic
I was looking on YouTube for Wake Me Up cause I really liked the song since the Sao Paulo concert and stumbled upon this, is this an actual leak?
Also the name is kind of stupid
What if Abel had released these 3 singles within the 1 or 2 month time period before Sao Paulo Concert and released the Album Title teaser post concert and dropping the album next day.
And for those 3 teasers he could have released them within a week span before Sao Paulo Concert. (Note : DITF, Timeless and Sao Paulo weren't part of these teasers).
Wouldn't that be perfect? Because the album title teaser had "When today ends, I'll discover who I am". ( Even better if title teaser was revealed at the end of the concert )
This way we wouldn't have got so much snippets/song from the album for a long period like how it is now and time period for album drop also would be perfect cause no other artist had dropped album during september which would give him window to rule the charts for entire year and so forth.
was just rewatching the Heartless MV, and i caught a frame of a weird looking guy smiling creepily in a car during when abel was tripping after licking the frog… Has it been discussed or theorized about who this could be?
i may be looking too deep into this and it could be just a random person smiling lol
also the guy kinda looks like cillian murphy if he was an alien because of the weird shadows on his head
When Heartless came out, people talked about how it didn't fit the teasers about the new chapter being "brain melting and psychotic", and a lot of people missed the point of the bridge. The song is a front for his vices and demons, and during the bridge, that facade slips and he shows that he's actually fearful of losing his partner and ending up alone.
That brings us to São Paulo: Right now people talk about how the song does not tie into the album, but I think yall are overlooking two things: Abel's little refrain at the start of the song "I surrender at your feet, every time I try to run, you put your curse all over me", and the bridge "Take it easy on me". Underneath the chaos and lust the song displays, he's trying to escape his demons and vices, a recurrent theme in the whole trilogy.
This shit is gonna be epic. The end of The Weeknd.
There is too much unneccessary split in this sub because everyone is so heated right now. Obviously it's totally fine to not like a song and discuss your opinion why you don't like it. It's also totally fine to like the singles without being called "deluded" or "glazers"
The issue is when you cross the line from criticizing/discussing into bitching about Abel in general and making these overdramatic premature assumptions.
There's a difference between "Not a fan of these new singles, the mixing is dry and the emotion from the live versions are gone, totally disappointed" vs "Fuck Abel he is shit without illangelo this rollout is telling me the album is going to be TRASH he sold out to make lazy MAINSTREAM songs and MV's... he's a shadow of who he once was this album is going to be dogshit I'm calling it now and if you disagree you're deluded and dickriding"
On the other hand, there's a difference between saying " I like the singles, you guys should give it time to grow on you... just like what happened with the previous 2 albums" vs "you're not a real XO fan if you don't let your favorite artist grow you should like the singles and if you don't you're a bitch"
We are really only hearing the most extreme points from either side which are the loudest voices, but in general the people who are defending the singles aren't trying to force you to like them or be falsely positive. They are saying lets not be so dramatic over the weeknd as an artist or the album as a whole without even hearing the final product. Thay being said, there's alot of people who are just making fair criticism who are being drowned out by the over dramatic negative comments.
Okay so this may be a crazy theory but in the lyrics it seems like Abel is trying to run away from his demons and sinning, most probably lust since Anitta's part is basically about asking him to fuck her. He talks about running away but getting put a curse on him and that if he tries to pray "you" away it still gets him on his knees and makes him surrender. Contrary to before "I love it when you turn me on" possibly talks about how despite trying to run away from the lust and desires he still loves to be turned on and *possibly* teased by lust and women.
Also, the baby in the MRI looks like a devil, could be a reference that the baby was born through lust and desires, lust being a sin and hence the baby being born is a devil? Also explains the talking stomach and all the weird shit Anitta did possibly showing that she was a trap for him all along, signifying the evilness causing lust.
This could pretty much be leading upto a double album, or a single album with two discs, one talking about sins and one about purity and recovery and escaping these sins he has done in his persona's life due to his past experiences with sex and drug abuse. Timeless(possibly about pride taking into consideration about him talking about his success in his hometown and his shows consuming him with pride and way more other lyrics that kinda seem to be about egoism and pride) and Sao Paulo(being possibly about lust) until now are the two "sinful" portrayals of his life which Dancing in the Flames is more towards seeking the light of forgiveness and peace.
Lemme know your thoughts lol
The concert was part of the rollout so stop complaining! The rollout is long but the rollout is effective because have we been hyped for so long for one of the albums in the trilogy? I don't think so so stop insulting the rollout and spitting on Abel's methods because as an artist at the top of his art and at the end of his career (under the name of The Weeknd), the guy has the right to broadcast and promote his music as he wishes. Yes we are all impatient but we complain when there have been worse as an album wait. The guy doesn't want to disappoint his fans so leave him alone. The three singles are complete so by then we will probably have a release date soon.
Me personally I'm extremely excited for Take Me Back To LA to release, I already know its gonna be a top 5 song all time for me.
Some of the other teased songs sound amazing too, which one is your favorite?
I'm also tired of the negativity in this sub we need to talk positively about the album for once 😭
I'll ask a single question: what can I do? Let's say I'm being negative, which yeah I am because i have negative opinions on the song 💀 like duh (whatever song, it doesn't matter)
Should I act like I love the song just because there's a chance my opinion on it changes? 😭😭
Just had to say this cuz this is a thing yall always bring up
With the news going around that apparently Apple is gonna stop production of the vision pro by the end of 2024, how is the weeknd exactly looking to promote his new song (presumably wake me up or open hearts) through the immersive experience?
Like if the product is not gonna sell anymore then doesn’t the whole 22nd November thing lose its ground? There’s no point in doing that and i feel like the weeknd is probably looking for another way for releasing his songs and gaining attraction.
