I love this man

I find that whenever I want to listen to any of the songs from ITI, I always end up just listening to that concert. The sound is just so much richer, more passionate, and full of attitude.
As great as the songs on ITI are, I feel like no one ever talks about how the production on the album is pretty underwhelming. I get that Julian was going for some kind of lofi sound, but to me, it sounds tinny, neutered, and overall just leaves a lot to be desired. Someday sounds okay, but even then, the live version sounds better.
As far as I'm concerned, the $2 Bill is the best show in Strokes history and is what made me really fall in love with their music. Everything about it is perfect: The sound, the attitude, the outfits, the charisma, the cohesion. It's quintessential early Strokes.
I remember first seeing it in 2016 on YouTube and I was blown away. Moreover, listening to it always takes me back to that period. At the time, I was involved with someone who it didn't work out with and who I still think about frequently. Listening to that concert acts as a time machine that takes me back as though that whole situation just happened yesterday. Funny how our brains can immortalize certain memories in music.
But I digress. Point is, the $2 Bill is one of the best rock shows of all time.
Im so happy i cant wait to play it
hi everyone! my boyfriend loves the strokes and I was wondering if there was something that would be super cool and meaningful for stroke fans to receive as a gift 😭 any ideas are welcomed!
Disclaimer: This is not an original video, this is a compilation of several compilation videos by u/Reptilicahonreddit on Reddit. All credit goes to them. They made 9 separate compilations, which I have piled into one mega compilation.
I do not own any of these clips.
This video is just for sheer enjoyment and for Strokes/Julian Casablancas fans.
Just the way he talks about The Strokes, politics, the state of the world. He never seems to be happy about anything and views everything so negatively. Is that just an age thing? Does everybody end up jaded?
This is a long shot but I need help finding a song that was on the strokes Spotify radio I believe specifically it was The Adults Are Talking radio. I would listen to it while mowing. This track sound almost like an italian or spanish orchestra and feels very cinematic. It has no lyrics, and it's maybe 3ish min long. Wish I woulda saved it but now I can not seem to find it on their spotify radio and it's killing me.
Any idea what this track maybe?
Angles might have the best guitar work in The Strokes discography. The interplaying between Nick and Albert is incredible with obvious examples in Machu Pichu and UCOD but also the instrumental bit before the last chorus in Two Kinds of Happiness is unreal. Go listen to that moment specifically its so good.
Side note: im not talking coolest guitar solos or most shredding riffs im talking the intricasies of the guitars with each other
I wa sactually a voidz fan before I even knew who the strokes were, so I’m definitely more of a voidz fan, and I was wondering what strokes songs are out there that sound like the voidz. Some I found were Juicebox and Drag Queen. Definitely more strokes sounding but yk😭
like the title suggests, songs to have sex to
(thanks everyone for the suggestions!)
I wish at least one Strokes song would be released where EVERYONE contributes to vocals. I think it could definitely happen, since 4 out of 5 of them have put out solo material where they sing lead vocals.
Hey guys, does anyone know where to find high resolution posters that I can print for my room preferably around 60*90cm at 300ppi
I was eating pizza and then someday came on
All the members are handsome 😍😍😍
They are one of the very best bands to introduce someone to rock. They were my starting point and my very favorite band for a long time. Over a few years, I started getting into bands that were just slightly heavier. Queens of the Stone Age and Nirvana came a bit later, but they were the first somewhat heavy bands I got into. Then it was Soundgarden, TOOL, and Deftones. Then Mastodon and Gojira. Then Acid Bath and Opeth. So even though I’ve mostly drifted away from indie music, I still have to give Julian and the rest props for kickstarting my rock journey
hi all!! does anyone have any stories/know any of a time when The Libertines met The Strokes? or if any of the members ever met? would love to know
