An icon, a legend, a moment. Hope she had better ratings after the Collapse.
TLJ’s idea of Stark and Arcadia parallels the real world sociological analysis types of Positivism (Stark) and Interpretivism (Arcadia)
To where; Stark is 100% based on concrete scientific fact;
Arcadia is based off of pure analysis of one’s own abilities.
Feel free to comment about this. ✌️
I played Dreamfall back when it came out. A few years back I played through The Longest Journey. I've had Chapters for what seems like forever and am finally playing through it (almost finished with book 2). The themes explored in this narrative are strikingly similar to the political climate in US these days.
I’m watching Arcane on Netflix now and while I’m only two episodes in, it reminds me of the TLJ/Dreamfall games both in theme and the way it looks and feels.
Highly recommended… mystery is important. ;)
It's the same developers after all, so, no surprise here. But it's still fun how the references are on so many different levels, from an important object that looks remarkably similar to the Watilla to more subtle ones, such as the return of the yellow rubber duck and some parallells in plot elements and motifs. I wonder if the shared last name Castillo used for a politician in Dustborn should have us guessing if the universes are actually related in some way.
If you haven't played it yet, I recommend doing it without checking the social media coverage about it first, as to get an unbiased view on it.
I've been replaying Dreamfall and can't get over how weird Emma's body model looks, those arms make her look like she's a distant cousin of Abnaxus. 😭
Does anyone have a copy or link to the game script for The Longest Journey? I want to read the dialogue, diary entries, etc.
Hi TLJ and DF family if anyone’s ever finds any news or updates regarding this please update us and if you have the pdf file from the kickstarter special edition please share can’t find it anywhere.
Happy weekend
I know each game had a deluxe version that had a full game soundtrack, (because my dumbass had them at some point.) Would anyone be willing to put the files in a Mega for me or point me to where I can find them and the extras online?
Where did crow and April run off too when April said we have a long journey ahead ? Is crow alive ? Does he remember April at the end of the game ? Why didn’t April answer Zoe’s questions? Was it all in her head when she met April and crow ?? Or were they alive ???
Hey all, I am playing the game on PS4, and I am completely stuck at the beginning when Zoe is near her bed in storytime and I interacted with everything in there and I still don't get the next step which it should be interaction with a vortex. Help please 🥺😭
I finished TLJ for the second time last week, and it was pretty much perfect as far as my gameplay experience goes; played it over 2 weeks every evening, after my nightly edible and then getting into bed with my laptop on my chest, taking my time and letting the emotional impact of the story wash over me as I quietly thought out all the puzzles. I truly have felt empty since I finished it–the hallmark of a good story.
Anyway I started Dreamfall and I have started to feel like I am missing so much as the story unfolds because of the damned control scheme. What are those monks saying in the prologue? Where did that cat go after leaving Reza's apt? I don't know because the damn camera just shoots off in some random direction at first glance. The "look" feature just goes from one end to the other and getting Zoe to focus on an obvious POI means hearing about Zoe's love of pillows 25 times in a row.
I've had the best luck with using a controller but there's no assigned button to pull up the mobile phone "menu?" My track pad is nearly useless as the cursor sensitivity options. Is WASD+mouse better? I don't have a desk or table for one. The camera settings don't seem to be rigidly enforced either, I really wish there was a first person mode.
Ragnar posted a more in-depth look at ideas and concepts for The Longest Journey Home on this thread, posting here for greater visibility and awareness:
https://x.com/ragso/status/1484131469274537986
Some people pointed out the tweets are protected (didn't think that was the case), so here's a link to the summary on TLJ Wiki (see the Project History):
Ragnar himself posted about 2 years ago regarding wanting to make a Saga's journey game. Here's the thread: https://x.com/ragso/status/1484144376976715779?s=19
I've never seen this mentioned anywhere else and it gives hope for a continuation of TLJ sometime as the thread also mentions The Longest Journey Home.
There's a summary of this information on TLJ Wiki: https://tlj.fandom.com/wiki/Saga?so=search#Saga's_Journeys_(Possible_future_game_concept)
So in Dreamfall Zoë is telling her story to someone. Based on the ending it should be the Vagabond in Storytime but then in Dreamfall Chapters that information got out and it seems someone else was involved. So who was she talking to to do that? I don't think Damian was able to expose the conspiracy iirc.
I got all 4 things the same going _ _ _ _ but I can't turn the crank or take the clamp
It would've been nice to see one this year since it's been 25 years since it came out. They could've fixed the obscure puzzles and a few animation problems.
I backed the Kickstarter for Dreamfall Chapters years ago, played the first chapter, and then decided to wait until the rest came out. Then I forgot about everything until I recently replayed all the games and finally finished Chapters yesterday. I need more! Specifically, the Journeys: Birth short stories and the Tome of the Balance (which I believe has a comic about Saga in it?).
The only problem is that I can't find a way to get them. It has nothing on the Kickstarter page and on Red Thread's official website, it says for backers to read a forum post on how to collect your digital rewards, with a dead link. How can I access these?
Thanks!
I have been re-listening to some of the soundtracks, and especially enjoy the light futuristic/dub techno style ambiance of some of the jukebox songs at the The Fringe Cafe such as this one. Does anyone have similar recommendations for this type of music? Even within the games themselves, there are not too many tracks similar to this track. Any suggestions (artists, albums, YT, Spotify, etc.) are appreciated!
I figured I'd share this here, the creator's next big project after Dreamfall Chapters, https://store.steampowered.com/app/721180/Dustborn/ It looks absolutely amazing and there's a demo out. :)
It's my first time playing Chapters after TLJ and Dreamfall. I've heard there is some added, changed, and cut content (though I know one mission is still in the bonus content section).
Should I pay the Final Cut or the original?
Just an appreciation post for both the Steamdeck and this incredible game series. If you’re looking for a reason to play again: all three games work perfectly ok the deck.
I absolutely loved Dreamfall back on the Xbox 1st Gen. Why hasn't this game appeared on Xbox as a Backwards Compatible game?

I may be overthinking it but in Reza’s painting there’s the numbers “231360” and I see maybe Reza’s face looking slightly down at the top of the canvas. Does this have any meaning? I apologize if this has been asked before. Has anyone noticed this painting or already “decoded” this before?
