I deleted the old post as it was mostly speculative, but now the network released the details of the changes. Not sure why RTVE thought that they needed the change the format...were the Chasers too good and won too much? Throwing contestants a bone since they lose so often? Who knows. But here are the details:

First, they're adding a celebrity version of The Chase. Both the normal "civilian" version and the new Celebrity version will adopt the new changes. The host, Rodrigo Vazquez, says that the essence and spirit of the game will not change. I have my doubts, but we will see.

Second, the changes to each round:

• Cashbuilder - Correct answers are reduced from € 1,000 --> € 200
• Head-to-Head - There will now be four offers on the table instead of three, and they are based on the player's performance in the cashbuilder:
  • Super Offer for quadruple the cashbuilder amount (no headstart; 7 correct answers to home)
  • High Offer for double the cashbuilder amount (positioned on the table as usual)
  • Middle Offer for what you earned in the cashbuilder (positioned on the table as usual)
  • Low Offer for half the cashbuilder amount (positioned on the table as usual)
  • Make it home, and the player wins the money and moves onto the final chase. This money no longer goes into a prize fund. The money is safe regardless of the final chase result. Of course, get caught at the table and you are eliminated as usual.
• Final Chase - This is a bonus round instead of the "all-or-nothing" round it used to be. The format is the same in terms of the rules of the game. The prize fund for the final chase starts at €20,000 and if the team can outrun the Chaser, they split the prize fund equally. If the team gets caught, the prize fund is increased by €3k (celebrity) or €5k (civilian) and carried over to the next episode, until a team wins. Then the prize fund resets to €20k. Finally, the teammate who contributed the most steps to the final chase will return and be part of the team in the next episode.

I know episodes are filmed in advance and all but Margot, one of the show's oldest ever contestants is 91, celebrating her birthday on the day of filming!

I had a small question to ask? Do any of the 6 chasers have any limitations when it comes to appearing on other quiz/panel shows on the BBC or Channel 4? I know that the Chasers have appeared on Tipping Point Lucky Stars and Celebrity Catchphrase on ITV. I also know that Paul has appeared on Taskmaster and Jenny has appeared on shows like Celebrity Masterchef and Blankety Blank, so I guess that means that they can appear on other networks.

However, one other show that I love to watch is Richard Osman's House of Games on the BBC, where each week 4 celebrities play various games to win various small prizes with Osman's facce on it. It's currently taping its Eigth series and seen about 400 celebrities so far, but I have yet to see any of the six chasers on the panel. It's a cross between a panel and a game show. Does anyone know if the chasers are not allowed to sppear on certain programmes on other networks? I know that Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman have appeared on Celebrity Catchphrase and Beat the Chasers, but is it because Armstrong is more of a comedian? Has any of them discussed this anywhere? I know that Jenny and her good friend Lucy Porter, who has appeared on the Chase and HOG have a podcast about gameshows? Have they talked about this subject?

I wouldn't mind seeing one of the Chasers on House of Games.

A friend of mine competed on one of last year’s episodes, but is looking to preserve a copy of her episode (from a season 14) before it inevitably leaves streaming surfaces, does anyone know the best way to do this?

Personally I’d love to go but don’t want to pay for a plane ticket or a room.

I've watched the chaser a few times when it's obvious the chaser acts really dumb on some questions! Really spoils the show, it's embarrassing

probably anything to do with Harry Potter for Paul and maybe pop culture/music for the rest of the chasers idk

I think Paul is the best chaser by a clear mile with Jenny coming in 2nd. I rarely see either of them lose

The nicest chasers are Shaun, Jenny and Paul in my opinion

I can picture him... cooking, maybe? It's driving me mad!
