Joe's plea to Mel: "Put your Co-host in the best position to win" breakdown

excuse me while I qualify myself to even make this post or just to get my shit off. I understand completely what Joe means when he says that(above title) to Mel. I grew up with friends with one of them being female and I can 100% tell anybody that women absolutely have certain powers to bring any emotion out of anybody any situation, ECT.

The pod wins when co-host puts themselves in the story of who they are speaking about. Which is hypothetical messiness. you kno, the he did it wrong or I woulda did this different kinda crap. it's really just to fill time. so I think Joe saying "put us in the best position to win" is to do how he feels is what women do best... getting to know guys and finding out their strong and weak spots. according to Joe, she should be problematic. like most women are, no disrespect. She should be the fixer in all the guys lives. she should do things to make the the guys be uncomfortable as possible around her and go on the pod to talk about it. Maybe need one of the guys to go with her to pick out an outfit. or possibly disrupt the pod with some bullshit she has going on that day.Idk.. to me the JPB wins when Mel is unapologetically acting in her natural "womanly mind." and just like all men we can't do shit or say shit cause she'll fire back with some shit about us that makes us look a certain way towards us.

They don’t hate Mel, but it does seem that way……Now what?

I’ve seen a bunch of posts and comments annoyed. First I’ll say I was one of FEW people in these subs and comments saying this and yall kicked my back in before (it’s ok I’ll be the Mel 😂) but evidence makes it appear Joe just don’t like shawty. She speaks her mind and then they are mad that she’s being emotional (as a woman should be that’s what makes her POV worthwhile) or say her facts are wrong when they very rarely are. Ice can play devils advocate without it being his stance, but she can’t. Flip can have crappy work off the pod and get some AT LEAST neutral feedback, but she can’t…….but I want her to get back to early 2024 Mel. Start getting angry emotional like she was before because sad, quiet, emotional Mel is what has these incels back on their “Mel ain’t worthy” bag. Like she ain’t 1/3 of the most respected people outside of the room in the music industry. Like she wasn’t around for the 99s and 2000s if she don’t see NO POSTS, she needs to see this one. Woman to woman, get back to fighting for yah spot mama. I promise I think that’s what Joe tries to do. I think he’s just meanest to her to get fiery Mel. Get her in her most entertaining pocket. But as a listener IT IS a hard view/listen. Like listening to the mean girl of the crew hate on the pretty girl of the group all the time.

Poor Mel

Not gonna lie, I used to want her to stfu every time she spoke but now I feel bad for her. She surrounded by niggas who secretly hate her. When she tries to build herself up outside of the pod they shit on it. When she puts in work to try and pod better they shit on her. How can she win?

Joe's Rap/Beef career...

If you weren't alive to listen to DJ Clue, Dirty Harry, or Cut Master C mixtapes from 1994-2002, you should not be commenting on this because you would never know.

Hip hop was extremely regional back in the late 90's but anybody from the northeast who was into lyrical New York hip hop knew who Joe was and how nice his pen was. He became popular dropping freestyles on mixtapes over the beats of the most popular rapper's singles at the time similar to the way Fabolous became popular. For those not familiar, his sound was reminiscent to early XXXtentacion without the singing. A high level lyrical ability, raw yet honest commentary, and poorly mixed audio.

Despite what some might say about his music, his raw lyrisium, wordplay, and honesty talking about his real life in his verses made him a stand out among most rappers at that time who only talked about money, how dope they rhymed or how many bitches they got. He was even the first rapper to acknowledge being in a relationship/having a girlfriend in his music. This is the reason his Mood Musik mixtape series is considered a classic by those of us who were around to hear it.

He was also one of the most vocal and competitive rapper's who ever touched a mainstream microphone, willing to go back and forward with any individual rapper or crew. The man has lyrically sparred with Jay-Z, Prodigy of Mobb Deep, Wu-Tang Clan, G-Unit, Royce da 5'9, Saigon and many more I'm forgetting just to be able to say that he rapped better than those niggas. Drake knew not to respond to Joe's many disses not only because he was a bigger artist but he also knew the monster Joe was when it came to diss records. This is why he is still extremely passionate about any beef in hip hop especially when it comes to rappers at the top of the game, male or female.

There is an old JoeBuddenTV video still on YouTube right now of Drake praising Joe's music to his face from back when the So Far Gone mixtape was released for all the reasons I'm speaking about.

Jump off Joe Budden or Mouse will never truly receive the credit he deserves for his rap career. Most of the music that proved his greatness can't be found on streaming platforms. It comes from a time in rap music where mixtapes could only be purchased at mom & pop record stores or bootleggers because technically they were for promotional use only and could not be sold legally in retail stores. This is how Joe maintained a small but cult-like following his entire career with his music being the base of all of it.

Tell me where I lied at...I dare you.

Trae Tha Truth

Honestly the fact that they were so quick to shut down Mel when she said Trae That Truth was on the album although she turned out to actually be right, shows me that these niggas really don’t listen carefully enough to give reviews. They did the same thing with Travis Scott’s album (Joe and Parks the 2 supposedly music nerds). They hyped it up when it first dropped although it was clearly a mid album and then came back 2 weeks later to kinda change their tones. Whatever expectations they had before pressing play is what they want to hear, they never give the artist a chance to actually take them to a new journey. Fucking old heads!

Watch Joe Change his take next Pod!

I guarantee by Wednesday Pod Joe will be saying majority of that Cole project is 🔥🔥, it's soooo many Bars, punchlines, and shots he actually missed. He definitely didn't spend enough time with it. It'll be the same Joe coming in to apologize and say he was wrong.

Musically, was Joe really like that?!

Going back to last episode and also this episode, all of Joes co-host refer to him in his rap days as some type of illustrious wonder. They brought up the possible Nicki Minaj show performance and spoke on it as if him doing it would be a moment in time for hip hop. Fast forward to This episode they kept referring to him as killer this and destroyer that when it comes to rap. So my question is was Joe really this big figure in rap at 1 point, or is it just his friends gas’n him up?!

For some context, I’m from Houston, Tx, my only knowledge of Joe musically is Pump it Up, and outside of that I only know him from this N64 video game back in the day. I said that to say, maybe his music stardom was a regional thing and it never made its way to my part of the country. I really be confused when they say things about him like this musically, because I don’t remember him ever being like that.

One thing I disagree with Joe & Parks on, 4 Your Eyez Only wasn't J. Cole's attempt at making To Pimp A Butterfly.

4 Your Eyez Only was basically the B-Side album to 2014 Forest Hills Drive.

FHD is the biography of J. Cole. He talked about growing up in North Carolina and some of the pivotal moments that led to him leaving Fayetteville to pursue his dream of becoming a successful music artist. He was able to do that and explained what it was like reaching Hollywood and his experience with that life.

4 Your Eyez Only is the same concept with an opposite ending. It was about the life of Cole's friend who grew up in North Carolina too, but didn't make it out of Fayetteville. So he ended up in the streets trying to find his way and provide for his daughter. The friend ended up passing way, but before that happened, he asked Cole to tell his story to his daughter if anything happened to him. And Cole did just that by making the album for that child, hence the title.

To Pimp A Butterfly is about social issues in the black community during the peak of politics, police brutality, and the Black Lives Matter movement last decade. There was a brief mention of Kendrick's mental breakdown dealing with his newfound fame.

The only similarities 4YEO and TPAB has is a dark theme. But the concepts are different and the sound of both albums are completely different. TPAB has Funk elements and some Dance records, 4YEO is eerie with some Jazz elements.

This nigga was borderline bullying Mel on that movie topic. Besides that whole segment making me feel uncomfortable just listening, this groupie nigga Ice always feels the need to jump in shitting on Mel cornball high school type energy from 40+ year old men.

PARKS, PARKS , PARKS

The commentary, the tone, the bias in parks proves my theory. I’m black. I’ve listened to Kendrick since Overly Dedicated. I’ve never been in mixed company with my black friends & anybody wanted to listen to Kendrick EXCEPT when GKMC dropped and we all were blown away. That shhh was like a movie….TPAB was ass water. Untitled was ASS water. Steppers was mid.Damn was amazing. The masses agree because Section 80 is still on billboard, so is GKMC, so is DAMN. Meaning we still stream those albums.

Parks commentary showed me Kendrick’s fan base is really white kids who like hip hop, like the kind who still play 90’s rap when around black people to show they’re cool 😂

He acted as if Cole’s bars weren’t better (which they were…BY FAR) he stuck to tone, and disrespect….while Kendrick barely directed anything to j Cole on like that. The bias was so flagrant it was hard to respect his opinion he spoke as a fan and not as a commentator. The final verdict according to most….”Cole 1-0” was literally trending on Twitter lol & he talked like it wasn’t even close.

Kendrick’s fans are white suburban kids who hang out in black spaces lol & parks proved it
