Extinct Volcano, Fawkesbury Peak has been the site of a discovery set to revolutionise electronics and more in chroma with the confirmed presence of a material with high-temperature superconducting properties. The Vermillion Union Interesting Rock Extraction Division expects to start mining of the material, as well as large quantities of Neodymium metal also discovered by the survey, within the next three months. The survey has also confirmed the presence of large quantities of copper, iron, tin and silver in the site cleared for mining.

Vermillion Union's government is particularly interested in the discovery, having conducted experiments using superconductors in conjunction with permanent magnets to run small models over a track - a technique known as quantum levitation. The lack of a need for complicated cooling systems and large tanks of liquid Nitrogen will significantly increase the viability of quantum levitation for a full-size high speed railway.
