Naming & Shaming tenants in NSW

Is anyone aware of any private databases in NSW where we can name and shame a previous tenant. I have avoided NCAT because it doesn't matter how bad the tenants were they will not allow you to list them on the database.

Anything will help.

So we live in Hamden CT. We’ve just started our tenants union. We are about 200 strong. The landlords are fighting hard. They are doing everything they can to evict union members . We have the DSA on our side

Apartment mgmt/repairs/rent

We’ve had ongoing issues with our apartment from holes in the walls, water damage from plumbing issues, rodent entry etc. We withheld rent for one month as the issues went unresolved from the 1st of December 2021 to the 31st, a certified letter was mailed as directed in the FL law, repairs were not done until 02/02, 30+ days from the date of certified letter (letter IS on file with property management so it was received.) FL statue 83.56b states tenants have the right to withhold and have rent reduced for days dealing with noncompliance. Does this situation have to go to court in order to have the rent abated? Any info is helpful, writing from South FL

Reimbursement for damaged items by landlords handyman

Reimbursement for damaged items by landlords handyman. Hi everyone, My questions is about who is responsible for damaged items and how to get reimbursed for it. The handyman that works for the landlord broke my vaccum cleaner when he was doing repairs while we weren't home. He admitted to using it but denies breaking it. He also broke my surround speaker by not handling it properly and admitted to that. The landlord is not willing to pay for the vaccum and says it's between me and the handyman and that the handyman is an independent contractor. It's a black and decker vaccum and costs as much as 200$. The speaker, I'm willing to forfeit as it still works and is pretty old and I don't care much.

What recourse do I have? Can I deduct the amount from the rent and tell the landlord to settle it with his handyman? I don't want to ask the handyman as he has his own difficulties with money

BREAKING LEASE

I plan to move out of the room that I’m renting earlier than expected but the person I’m renting from is threatening to take me to court because I told her that I’ll pay a prorated rate for days of the month I’ll be there. Can she do that? She does not have a Real Estate license which is required in the state of GA to collect rent and even to advertise it. She also does not have authority to even rent the room as her apartment complex states that no one should reside there unless they’re on the lease. On the lease agreement she refers to herself as landlord and myself as tenant which is false because again she does not have the right to rent the room. Will she have a case against me if I just leave ? And does it make the agreement “on its face” or null and void? According to GA law it’s does say written agreements are binding but again she has no license or authority to rent. Even is she did couldn’t I subpoena her apartment complex to state that I am not on the lease and I don’t have obligations to pay rent?

Question now, avoid conflict later

In October I will be having a major surgery. I currently rent an apartment with my boyfriend. We live 45 minutes away from us and is going to come stay for a week (ish) to help take care of me and get me settled. Obviously she will not be bringing furniture, receiving any mail here, or even parking here! She is just going to be here to make sure I’m recovering easy. Can my landlord charge me for that? I don’t hAve any visitor clause in my lease and, clearly, my mother is not going to be causes a nuisance.

Thank you.

HELP! PESTS SPOTTED

Hello, my dad has rented an apartment in a college area of California for about 7 years now. Within the last year he has added a pretty sloppy roommate. Now-- I am a fairly clean individual and I work a lot so most of the time I am not really around to make many messes... and I, within the last 5 months, have taken over the apartment, but he still pays rent, etc. [I am on the lease as well]. I have torn the apartment apart multiple times and cleaned through it since moving in. Recently I have grown tired of cleaning said roommate's messes, leaves half an inch of dirt in shower, fails to take out garbage that he fills. Has a messy room that scares me how he can even stay in there. He is pretty damn slobby. Me and my father have gotten on his case a multitude of times about messes. Now-- to the point. In the last hour. (Time of writing is 3am) I have seen two small roaches and one GIANT roach. Two in the kitchen and one ran across the living room floor, seemingly coming from the front door to the back door. I have not yet seen any droppings or husks. However, I have noted that if you see more than one, it is a building wide problem and I do not recall any spraying within these last seven years.

I do not have access to the lease, and quite frankly I only saw this apartment as a temporary abode. Now I guess my here is nearly up. I work far too much to deal with this kind of problem every day.

What are some immediate steps I should take to begin the repelling process in preparation for leaving this apartment? It is nearly falling apart in many corners, shower leaks no matter what you do, there is a multitude of places where it appears mold is creeping in. There has been 3 fairly major leaks that they have reported since i remember. Carpet is shot. Everything [for the most part] within the last three years has not moved at all unless it was by me.

I am freaking out and I have a long day of work creeping in slowly and am beginning to panic. I am 19 years old with no credit and just had my dad doing me a favor. I have virtually no credit and I feel very cornered. I got a line on a potential room in a nearby town but my job is here and, without a car it can become a potential issue. I am going to speak with my dad tomorrow, however I do not know how to approach either since he is gruff and believes that in the 7 years only minor problems have arose, but his standard of living is just as long as it works, it works.

I could not find a suuppper relevant sub but I am desperate so I came here hoping a few people could point me in the right directions.
