NGL I wasn't even mad I just stared at the screen questioning if I should hit the sack or not
It’s so large and packed that, at this rate, I doubt I’ll be able to actually explore it all…
I bought it at launch, and am a stickler for exploring the nooks and crannies in each area I discover, lest I miss something. But I’m really beginning to think I might die before getting to see everything this game has to offer.
… send help, or a therapist…
Many people share the complaint that the fuse system is too clunky and interrupts the flow of combat. I question the lack of weapon wheels, seeing as that’s what they use for the Zonaite Runes. Here is my concept for a more streamlined arrow fuse system
From Top Left to Right, Clockwise:
Bomb, Fire, Ice, Shock - same as totk
Wind - Consolidated Wing, Leaf, and Sail into one type with slightly differing effects depending on the fuse. Wing shoots straighter and further, with leaf and sail having a bigger windbox but falling shorter
Seeking - unchanged from totk
Hammer - rock, hammer, lynel hoof, etc., for a stronger short range arrow to press things down
Stun arrows - For Combat/ Stealth. Dazzlefruit (stuns with a flash of light) Puffshroom (obscures with a cloud of spores) Muddlebud (enrages enemies into attacking each other)
Chu Jelly - Shoots a multipurpose glob of jelly. Use it to safely land a fall, slow enemies, catch items or small creatures
Bounce arrows - bounce enemies or objects, or shoot a mushroom patch to bounce off of and resume aerial combat
Bright/Beacon arrows - Same as bright bloom but leaves a beacon to be seen from afar / (should it be able to fight gloom?)
Bait arrows - use the Meat to distract monsters and wild animals. Additionally, I think it would be really great if the Birds Eye view mechanic (WW Seagull, TP Hawk, SS Beetle) returned in some form. If you shoot certain bait, a bird could intercept and then you control it for a little bit.
Stasis arrow - freeze targets in time. could work on enemies and objects/platforms
Grappling hook - bring back the hookshot! Also, physics! I’m imagining shooting a rope/chain arrow and then swinging across gaps, rappelling down cliffs or caves, or using it to hitch a ride off a sand seal, dragon, or a chain-chomp.
Finally, I think there should be an extra circular fuse option somewhere in the bottom middle for “Unusual” “New” or “Favorites”. From a gameplay perspective, the ability to fuse an arrow to any material is intuitive; the implementation of how you go about fusing is not.
Omitted ideas:
Splash arrows - for those of you missing the Super Mario Sunshine levels in totk, we could combine the function of Jelly and Splash arrows, and have them continue to deal water damage/clean slime while also providing a jelly platform/globbing certain enemies
Magic beans - didn’t seem useful enough, (got replaced by Bounce arrows) but I think it would be neat to spawn either a flying platform or a more classic giant beanstalk
One Shot Arrows (Ancient, Light, Silver) - I didn’t want to dedicate a fuse category for something that’s generally late game. Let me know in the comments if you think One Shot Arrows deserves a spot over the Beacon or Hammer arrows
I think this setup would help streamline arrow fuses and help combat flow a little better. Let me know what you guys think, and if there are any other fuse categories you would include in your own fuse wheel!
Idk if anyone wants or needs to know this but it costs exactly 1,080 Crystallized Charges to buy all the zonai devices that the Construct at one of the Crystal Refineries will sell until they restock
lol I misspelled energy
Or at all?
Y'know, the little tips you get on the load screen? I don't think they've ever told me anything I hadn't already figured out through gameplay. It would have been really helpful if they'd actually, y'know, helped.
Like: "you can shield surf on rails"
and: "throwing a dazzlefruit will insta-kill skeletal / stal mobs" (although I haven't tested this on a Stalnox yet)
What tips do you wish you'd learned earlier?
I just thought of a bittersweet ending to the game which nintendo could have done. What if Link found one of the sacred stones after Ganon turned into a dragon and decided to eat it just to have one last chance at killing Ganon after the Master Sword broke during the battle. Link would win, of course, but him and Zelda are stuck as Dragons for the rest of Eternity, never knowing that the hero Dragon the light Dragon is drawn to, is actually Link so they both fly around hyrule for the rest of Eternity. Though, I'm not saying that the ending of the actual game isn't sad when you realise that the light Dragon is Zelda but I do think they could have made it a lot more depressing
In my other save file I had this cute pink spotted horse. I'm looking for it again, does anyone know where I could find this horse pattern? I would appreciate the help!
I played it before but got bored, and I’m retrying the game out. What tips should I do to keep myself interested
basically, the run is only using Twilight Princess things to beat the game. I can use: Bomb Flowers, fairies, Zora Armour, Hero of Twilight set, Dusk bow, Master Sword, Magic Rod, wooden stick, Boomerang, Sword of the hero (Closest thing to the 2nd type of sword), Thick stick, Magic Scepter, Long Stick, Traveler's bow, Hylain shield, Dusk Claymore, Wooden shield, Paraglider with Mirror of Twilight fabric only gotten from Wolf Link Amiibo, Midna helmet and Zant's helmet. The Goals I have to do are:
The unique items include:
I'm also allowed to use the zonai abilities since it's a key part of the game, all key and mandatory items are allowed too. So are all healing items.
What do you all think and what should I add?
Also does anyone know how to turn off a fan? It keeps staying on even if I'm the other side of the map.
A beginners course in the use of muddle buds
Now that TotK is more than a year old, I assume most of us here played and beat the game already. Seriously, Tears of the Kingdom is the best game of all time in my opinion and I believe it’s such a gorgeous ass game. I was wondering what you guys think is the biggest and most tremendous story spoiler in the game? I’m very curious with answers!
I’ve beaten the main story twice already, so tell me which part of the storyline do you think is the biggest spoiler or the biggest “omg?
For me, the biggest spoiler and the biggest “WTF” moment was >!Queen Sonia’s death!<, I did NOT expect that, it’s not that I didn’t expect it actually, I didn’t expect the WAY it happened! >!Ganondorf stabbing her in the back was really surprising and she is my favorite character so I was shocked! I even squealed when I saw his evil laugh!<
That was basically my biggest one, the second for me would be >!Zelda being the light dragon!<. And that’s it.
What about you guys? What is the biggest spoiler in the game for you?
I was revisiting the lightning temple to find some Zonai weapons when I discovered a small room that I’ve never seen before playing through this game and haven’t seen anyone cover it in any walk-throughs.
Anyone else do this?
Sorry 4 the shitty edit. This was a difficult trick to pull off
Mostly, hear me out. I'm using 1 piece of the flamebreaker armor because of fire temple and I will sell it when I'm done with the fire temple, and the armor I'm using is the hylian set. (Someone end me I'm suffering a lot)
ok. i need to go to a fairy fountain to upgrade my zonaite armor. let's teleport to dueling peaks and fly down. oh look a star!! i gotta get that. on the way, the sensor starts going wild for bubelgem, I only need one more to get the the last treasure from Kilton, sighs, must be in a cave nearby I haven't found. Damn! I'll just stamp it and come back, I CAN'T forget tho. rocket shield up to fly to the purple smoke. of course! 🙄 there's the light dragon, I just busted my badass light dragon blade. let me go get it. . .. finally made it to the fountain. thank God! FIVE PIECES OF FLINT!! how do I not have any!? No big deal, teleport to a stable. . . why is there no Flint at the Riverside stable? oh there's a bitchin black horse I HAVE to catch. blood Moon! sweet! let me go farm some more Captain construct horns again so I can upgrade my zonaite armor . . .
🤦 the struggle is real, I love this game so much but my love of playing it literally kicks my ADHD into hyperdrive! i will burn through the better half of a day without a break sometimes 🫠 long live The Tears!!!
Okay someone said this in a video so I gotta double check. Does the weapon that I break have to be unfused for it to spawn in the depths? Like if I've only ever broken 8 fold blades that were fused w an item, they won't spawn until I break a 'naked' one?
I’ve beaten the game and done essentially everything one can do. I really like finding off the beaten path kind of content - unusual areas, cool dialogue, how NPC’s interact, etc. Can you point me in the direction of your favorite thing like that?
For example, right now I’m trying to find this NPC’s brother at wetland stable. He says his brother Yolero is off goofing off. (Any leads on that? Lol) It’s not a side quest or anything, just an NPC’s dialogue.
