Like holy crap. Abq reddit having a total full size cow over Trump being there. Who cares! And they obviously love screaming in to their own echo chamber that is Reddit.
Does anyone know anything about the donkey man?
My husband works at the local hospital and several patients from the Pueblo have mentioned the donkey man but when we asked the guide at the Taos pueblo about it she told us they were pulling his leg. His other colleagues told him they have heard about the donkey man as well at other times though.
The Tiwa community seems to be very private about their beliefs which I do respect. But…I’m still really curious about it. Does anyone know what the Donkey Man is?
Can someone recommend movers to help pack a truck for several hours? Struggling to find help on short notice!
Hey all! I'm planning a wedding at a family ranch in Angel Fire, New Mexico in September 2025 and struggling to find wedding vendors close to the Taos area. Many of the quotes we're receiving are from Albuquerque and the added travel fees/mileage is getting quite expensive! I live in Arizona so it's hard finding local options that might be word-of-mouth. Would love some help with finding vendors in Taos/Questa/Red River/Angel Fire area.
Anyone know of local bartenders for hire for a private event (75 guests for about 5-6 hours)?
Any local companies that do rentals (large tents, seating, lighting, etc.)?
Recommended "day-of" coordinators?
Local wedding DJs?!
Any leads are deeply appreciated.
The Whataburger looks like it’s stalled in making progress, but meanwhile there’s a new drive-thru spot going up quickly on south side. Looks like a well run team so I assume it’s a larger fast food chain. Any ideas?
Fingers crossed it’s Cane’s chicken. Gives me Dunkin Donuts vibes.
Had to eat from my stash of gluten free cookies at the hotel for dinner last night as the restaurants I attempted to go to could not offer any options for me but plain salad. ARE there any options in the cheap or moderately priced restaurants anyone knows of? I’m stuck here another night, and would love to be able to eat dinner somewhere.
Sorry to share, if your orange cat is missing in the weimer neighborhood he unfortunately passed away yesterday after getting hit by a car. I saw him in the road shortly after, (no one fucking stopped so I did), and comforted him until he passed )before moving him out of the road to prevent any further discomfort. Very intimate final moments. He did not die alone and was comforted :/ Sorry for the news, tearing up as I type.
Who has the best vegetarian breakfast burrito with smothered veggie green chili in Taos?
Is there a place in Taos or Santa Fe to rent classic cars?
Hey all! I’m going to be in Taos for the final 2 games of the WNBA finals and was wondering if there are any sports bars that will be/might be playing the games ? Thanks!!
Am looking at coming to TSV over NYE. What are typical conditions this time of year? How bad are the crowds, i.e. lift lines? I know they’re bad, but that is relative- bad at TSV might be 5 mins. FWIW, my definition of bad is 10 mins. Horrendous is 20+
Planning to (try to) start a business from scratch over the next couple months. Wanting to name it something representative of the area: high desert, Mountain View, Piñon, etc... but reaching out to yall for ideas from the community.
The name would go before what it is like High Desert Party Supplies or whatever (it's not party supplies)
Most ideally I'd love to try to encapsulate that view when coming up from the south and hit that big overlook on the way into town; with the mountains to the east and the mesa to west (ie: the dichotomy of our landscape) but I can't figure out the right one or two words to represent that.
Thoughts?
(If I ultimately wound up going with someone's suggestion, I'd be way into hooking someone up once (if) it comes to fruition)
Hi there. Does Uber (or any other ride share co.) have a presence in Taos? Is it seasonal - something I could actually use when I come visit this winter? Thank you.
I’ve noticed a lot of spots here have few tvs (not mad about it) but with my Mets being so damn good, I’m curious if there’s any spots that’ll be fun to watch some baseball games at
Sunshine. You think Florida is the sunshine state? You've never been to New Mexico. The sun is strong and bleaches everything here except the hypocrisy.
The hypocrisy! Endless entertainment. Wait for the people who will comment on this post not to move to Taos. They moved here 10 years ago though.
Low property taxes.
Uncrowded. It's unusual to see more than a few people on a trail, especially if you avoid the trails where dogwalkers let their dogs poop everywhere because "it's natural."
Delicious food. Taos has a lot of options, it's not like Colorado mountain towns where the only places to eat are brew pubs or really expensive Thai.
Art. I think. Everything wants to look like Meow Wolf these days. That's art right?
Skiing. There are four ski resorts within 45 minutes from town.
River sports.
Five seasons. Winter Wind Spring Summer Fall.
Views. Even when you go to Walmart you have an amazing view.
Looking for fun, active, things to do around Taos, (hike/bike rental/play disc golf), local interesting eats, “have to” experience for a first timer. Thank you in advance!!
Hi friends, me and my boyfriend are some hippies from outta town and we’re looking for something fun to do tonight. Anyone have any ideas? We like art, live music, history, and good food. Thanks!
Watching from behind the high school.. the red blob started over the airport (looking NW) then circled to the NE view slowly for 30 min… trippyyyyy!

Any autumn hikes nearby you'd recommend? Anything with aspens or maples or other nice trees?
Hello. My family is in taos for just a few months and I would like to put together little gift baskets for family for the holidays with some local stuff in it. We don’t have tons of funds to work with so looking for more affordable things. Any ideas where to get stuff?
Part of mine and my wife's honeymoon will be in Taos. I'm trying to come up with fun and unique things for us to do while we are there and I'm looking for suggestions. We are outdoorsy, artsy, thrifters, and adventurous. We don't mind a long hike or drive to get somewhere epic. Some stuff we already have planned is to kayak the Rio, collect Pinon, hit the thrift shops, and do some hiking.
What are some good hikes? What are the best thrift stores? Is there a food place for live music? Any historic or unique places to see or visit? Where do locals grab a beer?
Thanks for your help.
