Hi sysadmins,
I’m reaching out for advice about a significant career move I made recently. I transitioned from VMware, where I had worked for several years, to a MAANG company. However, I’m starting to second-guess my decision, and I’d love to hear your thoughts, especially from those who may have experienced similar situations.
Due to Broadcoms acquisition things looked a lot dicey, so I thought it's better to move out..
But I left a huge chunk of RSUs, how do I get over the FOMO.
I INITIALLY HAD A FOMO OF MISSING FAANG JOB, NOW I'VE A FOMO IS MISSING HUGE MONEY..
My TC reduced by 55%(base, rsu and bonus included) due to this move.. stock price surged over 25% during my notice period, I should have stayed back but I goofed to big time..
I'm realizing it a stupid move...
I'm now not able to recover psychologically.. Has anyone experienced this? How to move on?

Hi everyone,
I'm currently exploring new job opportunities in system administration. For the past 7 years, I’ve worked with the same consultancy company (total of 10 years), primarily focusing on big data and on-prem open-source systems. During this time, I’ve held roles from Team Leader to Delivery Manager.
I’d describe myself as a “jack of all trades.” I’m highly adaptable and bring a wide range of technical skills, including programming, cloud concepts, and familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, although I don’t yet have much professional experience in those areas. I have a strong passion for research and development, always eager to explore new technologies and innovative solutions.
I'm based in Portugal/Lisbon (GMT+1) and looking for 100% remote opportunities. If you’re looking for a versatile SysAdmin ready to take on new challenges, please send me a PM and let’s connect!
Thank you for your time!

Looking to chat with someone about a collaboration opportunity for a security consultancy / managed service provider in the United States.
Organization currently has two partners that are mostly taking on project-based work but want to expand that to provide managed services and advisory to the SMB market. We both currently work “day jobs” but want to transition to full-time business ownership and self-employment.
Both of us are good “people people” and excel in front of clients, but neither of us are the type of hands-on technologists that architect or implement technical solutions independently. That’s not to say that neither of us could, but it’s not our bread and butter and doing it takes too long and pulls us away from the things that we’re best at.
In an ideal world, we’d find someone in similar situation with similar career / life aspirations that can also compliment our skillsets. I’d like to be able to call this person and say “this is the problem we’re solving / service we’re providing, and this is the general idea of what the solution may look like - what do you think, does this make sense, and can we/you do it?” and if they say “yes” they really mean it.
Understand that this isn’t the right type of thing for everyone, but it could be the right thing for someone. If this is you, shoot me a DM and let’s chat. Must be a citizen living in the United States but not particular about exactly where.
