Hello!
I'm a UK-based engineer designing a network in Ashburn, VA for which we will have a lot of kit arriving towards the end of Feb 2025. I'm looking for someone in the area who has some solid availability late Feb / early March to help us unbox and configure the whole thing, maybe liaise with vendors, data centre remote hands and so on.
We will be using ZPE for bootstrapping, Arista for the core network, and a pile of Linux servers that will all need unboxing, mounting, assembling, connecting and testing in every detail. So I need someone who can make reasonable day trips to Ashburn, who can help with some or all of the above. Plus an eye for neat cabling, labelling, and physical testing.
I imagine it will be a good few days in the data center, and a few days earlier in February reviewing requirements and making sure there's no missing parts.
I hope this will be a regular engagement, because I'd prefer to batch up less urgent maintenance and leave only the most urgent tasks to remote hands (at least this has worked well for the last network I co-built).
My ideal outcome: a neatly put-together rack, serial numbers logged, links tested and our initial configurations loaded on so that we can confidently start to administer and run our services.
Whether you're a business or individual contractor, please let me know your day rate, and one or two pieces of relevant experience. I don't need a whole CV if you don't have one handy.
While we are a very young startup, this aims to be an extremely equal opportunity. If you want to chat without revealing irrelevant personal details (including your name, gender or anything else), I'd be very pleased to hear from you. I will need those details after I've decided to hire you. But I hope it's easier to apply when you know you'll only need to talk about the work.
Thanks! If you can help please DM and I'll share my email.

Need Advice - Aspiring Accounts Payable Specialists or any similar role 😊
I just want to ask if I have any chance of working as an Accounts Payable Specialist, even if I am not a graduate of Accountancy or any related field like invoicing or transferring invoices in Excel File. I find this job interesting and I really enjoy it, but I'm unsure where to apply or if there is any basic training available for this role.
I previously helped my co-worker in the accounting department with this task and became quite attached to it. I would even be willing to accept a rate of $3 per hour if given the opportunity. 🫶🏻😊 I don't demand too much cause I'm not fully skilled in this role. 😊
