A subreddit for discussion of Star Wars Galaxies Emulator (SWGEmu) servers.
Do I need the physical SWG CDs?
To play SWGEmu legally you must own the discs to either An Empire Divided, The Total Experience or the Complete Online Adventures.
I'm new and completely lost! Can I have some tips?
We highly recommend Mobyus1's SWGEmu educational videos. There are hundreds of helpful videos on his channel that go into great detail about many of Star Wars Galaxies mechanics and functions. They are well worth a watch! You can check out the entire playlist here.
Do any servers have JTL working?
No servers running SWGEmu's code have working JTL. (Jump to Lightspeed)
Can I advertise my server?
Yes, as long as the server is an SWGEmu Core3 based server that is AGPL compliant, feel free to post. Just don't be spammy about it. If you want your server to be on the sidebar, please fill out the Server Submission Form here.
What is AGPL?
Put simply, AGPL is a set of requirements that any server using Core3 (SWGEmu's code) must abide by to fulfil the requirements to run their server. These requirements are set in place by SWGEmu and are based upon having all server work be open source and available to the public (like Core3). Servers that don't follow this do not share their work and go against what this community is built upon. The servers listed below will only be for servers that are AGPL compliant and in full accord with SWGEmu. (If you are AGPL compliant and would like to be added to the listing, please contact the moderators). Full Requirements

My crafter has one small generic house placed, but only has 1 lot remaining. I don't have wp's for any harvesters/factories (pretty sure I've picked them all up). Tried to place two harvesters but can only place one, confirming its not a visual bug. Anyone else experienced this? I'm on Finalizer.
Morning,
I've been doing some digging but can't find an obvious answer anywhere: do we have a playable emulator on 4K monitors just yet? I think the best suggestion I've found is that you can set the res to 4K but the UI just doesn't scale. Anyone had any success?
sad too see them steal money from people for your guys hard work
I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations on how/where to hire someone highly proficient in modding the Emu code? I have a private server that I'd like to make 7-8 modifications to but I just don't have the time to learn the whole codebase, structures, dependencies, etc.
Any ideas?
title. or do they all need their own ships? would be awesome to be the pilot and drive my homies around to new planets and such.
I made a server and set myself to admin. My character shows as admin and 'GOD MODE' but none of the slash commands or anything admin related work.
I first set my account to lvl 15 in the database but was then told to set it to 100. Neither of these work. Is there something I'm missing?
So I've been trying to add Jedi as a choosable profession on character creation. Has this already been done somewhere in the past? If not any idea where to start in the code? I've tried creating a custom .tre file with the creation/profession_defaults.iff after edits but that did not work. PRECU
swgemu private single player test server. I am looking for some insight into the code for SWGEMU server. I want to change the maximum skill points on a test server and there is a number of 250 in the lua conf file. I changed it to 300 and tested and it seems to ignore this number on character creation. I read somewhere that you could change it and go over the 250 but it just wouldn't show it correctly in the skills page in game. I would like someone with some code experience to point me to the line or lines that I need to edit to change the maximum setting on the server. I am familiar with recompiling the server from source code.
If you are playing on a pre-cu server with a low pop and can only have one character. You have TKM and got a holocron requiring you to do master merchant when you have ZERO interest in crafting profession.....
Keeping in mind you have zero interest in master artisan or the other artisan trees.
What do you craft to go artisan business 1 to 4 just to get to novice merchant?
How functional are the in-game economies for players who want to primarily be crafters?
Making a trader/crafter and setting up shop (literally) was my favorite part of OG SWG. I played Basilisk practically a decade ago (and I believe a tried one CU/NGE server), my biggest gripe was because every player could have 5+ characters with multiple online at once, there was virtually no in-game marketplace. Every player had crafting alts which means they needed to purchase items from other players far less often. They could essentially play the game solo or be completely self-sufficient, which seems to me to be lock-stock-and-barrel the opposite of what SWG was supposed to be. It made being primarily a crafter/trader boring and pointless.
So with that in mind, do any of the pre-CU servers have a decent player economy? Can a player have an enjoyable experience being a crafter and building their shop, or have crafters just been relegated to being alt accounts for combat characters?
Where and what should I be grinding through my upper 20s and mid 30s.
What TK attacks are the most effective from a standpoint of damage and efficiency (damage to cost ratio). Which skill can you keep rolling non-stop if any. I have a lot of trouble with running my mind bar down and having to sit and wait in the middle of finishing a lair (and that’s with brandy).
Hi folks, I lurk here a lot and have been playing SWGemu servers on and off for years and years at this point, one thing I've always noticed and always been looking for is an easily accessible table or single source for the modifiers and statistics associated with the various damaging abilities you unlock through the profession system, but I've never been able to track any down that are as straight forward as I'm looking for.
It's bothered me for a while that I can't find a simple table or post with linked resources to figure all this out so I have decided to finally put effort into creating something like that.
Here's a table of attacks and the modifiers associated with them, as well as damage calculations, this table is based on the functions and information available from the SWGEmu Damage Calculator.
Currently the table only includes ranged weapons. I'd be more than happy to add melee weapons to the list if people request it however, it was not added purely out of my own laziness as I made this in the last 30 minutes as it's 2am and I can't sleep.
So I played this game for years and finally want to try the emu version. I would like to pick the server with the most population. Preferably nge. I’ve searched but would like to know what the most popular servers are currently.
I loave the gameplay on swgemu but I just cant get the hang of mouse walking. I feel like I need to be walking using the W and S keys. I can't seem to figure out how to make my UI work with the letter keys because the letter keys always type down into the chat box. Can anybody help me out?
Hello everyone!
I've been thinking about playing on SWGEmu for quite some time now, but there's a high number of controversial posts stating that the population is toxic, dying or that the game is not worth playing anymore nowadays.
Now, I'm a huge Star Wars fan having played countless titles (both online and offline) and the idea of living an MMO experience that is much more genuine and not pestered by microtransactions like SWTOR sounds like a dream. The gameplay depth is also something that definitely tickles my brain! Don't really mind the age of graphics and whatnot, as long as the experience provides quality fun and meaningful friendships along the way.
Would love to hear your opinions before I make a decision, also in regards on potential server choices and whatnot :) Who knows, maybe we could even join together in this adventure should I decide to join!
Thank you so much in advance
Sorry this is such a dumb question... but I cannot remember!
I tried like a half dozen emu servers about 1-2 years ago of al flavours (pre-, cu- and nge).
There was one in particular I played more than the others. I don't remember which.
What I do remember is that the launcher had space scenes ripped from the films with 'The Mandalorian' theme music in the background. Can anyone remind me which server that is?
Sincerely,
A dumb idiot
Hi,
Back in the day, I used some mods to make weapons look like other weapons. For example, my VK looked and acted like a 1H LS, Vibrosword would be a 2H LS, etc.
I've look around the net but havent been able to find these mods again. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks.
How is the path to unlocking Jedi on the Infinity server? I'm thinking on giving it a try.
I'm originally from Bria. Finalizer seems beyond dead. Any help?

Hey all I am trying to figure out what combat prof I should mix with Doc. I already have a TKM/Swords stacker as my main toon, so I'd really prefer a ranged profession. What do you guys think? Very much appreciate any insight y'all can offer, ty!
I am hoping someone would be willing to give me a crash course in current events. I believe way back in the day SWGEmu was the primary pre-CU engine. The developers were very, very good, did all (?) of the reverse engineering. But I vaguely recall perhaps some of them were not terribly kind and there were personality clashes or something?
Way back when, Engine3/Core3 were split, and Core3 remains open source and Engine3 does not? Is Engine3 still used/updated? Do any active devs have access to it? It seems like SWGEmu the project has very little activity, mostly bug fixes, and core development is either dead or done or both?
Do other projects like Infinity (which seems to be maybe the most popular?) use Core3/Engine3? And if so, their modifications to Core3 have to be public, right? Where are they? Do they track upstream Core3 and rebase on top? Even Infinity send to not have had a patch notes on their site in a year...
As someone who has kept vague tabs in the emu for a decade, I feel like it's always been plagued by these sensitive topics and I'm kind of tired trying to read between the lines at this point so I figured I'd just ask the quiet questions out loud and hope someone can help.
I played SWG for years back in the day. How is the emu, is it worth trying out? What server? Point me in the right directions, ner vod.
