I’ve done a search and have not come up with much other than speculation and hopes. I am at work so I am unable to search official forum or websites. Is there any indication of what kind of single player or offline component there will be (if any) in the new Battlefront? What about Bots? I know some people disliked playing them as they were fairly crude by today’s standards but there was a certain funness to it that just appeals to casuals that don’t want to play against other human opponents.
While I enjoy battlefield games to some extent, I do NOT want a battlefield clone of the new battlefront. When Battlefront 2 came out my girlfriend at the time and I played exclusively with me offline in the grand epic battles of the clone wars. When she (Now my wife) heard they were making another battlefront game she instantly declared we would be getting two copies so we could play (PC Players for life). While I am excited for this game, I am also fearful that we could be disappointed.
I really hope they have Republic and CIS forces in this game along with an offline multiplayer component. At least have an option of setting up a map online where we can invite friends that is also populated with bots for the rest of the teams in epic battles. Personally one of the things I dislike about the Battlefield games of late, is how the servers are set up. Why can’t I create a game where a few of my friends can play without having to pay additional money to rent a server. Say what you will about the Call of Duty Series but I have been able to play with bots and friends on maps of my choosing for a while. Even if they removed the higher bot difficulty levels to attempt to get more people to play online.
I am not saying don’t focus on the online component. I in fact plan on joining that often, but I don’t want that to overshadow what made Battlefront 1 and 2 so much fun for so many people. There are MANY shooter games available from Titanfall, Battlefield, Call of Duty, Counterstrike and even Destiny. Battlefront stands out as something special because of the options in playstyle. If we wanted to play offline with friends we could. If we wanted to play online we could. It encompassed the entirety of Star Wars not just the Original Trilogy. I really hope DICE takes all that into account. Will battlefront be popular even if it is a battlefield clone? Yes I believe so. If it has no bots and little to no offline component, will it be epic? It’s possible but I am fearful that many (including my wife) will be disappointed.
It's kinda pointless to have separate subs for the same thing. I feel it's going to split the community and each sub will be left with significantly less discussion compared to if we just choose one sub to stay with.
Not trying to cause a riot, stuff is about to start coming about the game so it may be time for mods *(of either sub) to swallow the pride.
Could you image if they did a republic commando's style with a squad of rebels and a squad of stormtroopers :O EDIT: For the campaign Edit: What are some of your wants for the campaign?
Personally I would like to see the space battles from battlefront 2
So I saw this photo on facebook that linked to ign.com and it had a stormtrooper helmet in a box for swbf like that was the delux edition of the game. I couldn't find the link again and when I clicked on the link it didn't send me to anything. Has anyone seen this at all? I tried searching with Google to find it but nothing really came up.
I'd honestly like to hear your opinions on it.
When do you think we'll be able to get our hands on some real gameplay, the lack of content is so annoying
Who's with me?
Firstly, this is my first post here after lurking for a few days, so let me introduce myself. I'm CosmoZombie. I'm a huge fan of Battlefront 2 and hugely excited for the new game. I've never played SWBF1, but I got Battlefront 2 for the PS2 a while after it came out (2006, maybe? My first memory of playing it was being almost exactly 7 years old.), and I fell in love with it instantly. After my PS2 broke and I lost my game, I forgot about it. I recently found it on Steam, however, and I bought it for last year's Star Wars Weekend Sale. Since then, it has become my most-played PC game (and most-played game ever if you count the PS2 days), and I have enthusiastically gotten into the modding scene. Unfortunately, I don't make my own, but I love to mod my game to perfection.
That being said, I've been looking for a long time for something like the Battlefront Combat Enhanced Mod. However, it conflicts with the Conversion Pack, which is highly disappointing to me because I love the Conversion Pack and its custom sides. So, my question is, for people who have played both mods (or even just the Combat Enhanced mod), is the Combat Enhanced mod worth giving up the Conversion Pack for?
Please, somebody, advise me.
I have updated the subreddit wiki!
Currently there are 5 different pages.
Please comment below if you know or have a website / social media account which would be suitable for the Community Links page.
Please also comment if you know of any confirmed game information I missed (along with the source if possible).
My specific question is will we be limited to characters that generally only use guns so a first person shooter only or will we be able to play as jedi/sith and use lightsabers as well?
If this is the case which i hope i expect it to obviously be balanced and both classes to have certain counters to eachother.
We sure have not seen much of this game. With the release date this year, and lack of much shown thus far, usually means a game is behind schedule. This could mean 1 of 2 things.
The stress must be extremely high for DiCE.
I hope the BF4 CTE and continued support goes hand in hand with Battlefront and improvements are actually live tests for Battlefront, based on the same game engines.
Fingers crossed, I have been waiting for a new Battlefront game for 10 years?!
I'm really not familiar with Star Wars games so I'm just curious if Star Wars Battlefront is something you buy for the singleplayer or the multiplayer?
Dice is know for making Battlefield which is obviously multiplayer focused, but maybe it's different for Battlefront? Please let me know :)
Just interested in seeing what other people want to see. Personally I would love to see character customisation, just love the thought of being able to put different kinds of armour on a clone or storm trooper. :)
