Hi! I am an incoming international student for semester 2. I have a few questions abt accommodation. I am studying marketing so my classes will be on bay campus.
I would prefer to live on bay campus since it is close to my classes but I’ve read that the social life is dead. Is it actually that hard to make friends when living on bay?
I really want to get involved w the mountaineering club, would living on bay campus make it difficult to do so?
I appreciate your help/advice!
Hi everyone,
I’m a trainee clinical psychologist researching how worrying about affording food impacts eating habits and eating behaviour, especially during the cost-of-living crisis.
If you are 18 or older and living in the UK, I would love to hear from you! You do not have to be a student to take part as the research is open to everyone. However, I want to make sure that the experience of students is also represented, as university can be a time where finances are very stretched, especially at the moment.
There are two ways to take part:
Anyone over 18 living in the UK can take part and share their thoughts here.
You can find out more information by emailing me here.
You can take part in either or both :)
Your input could help shed light on this important issue, and by participating, you could also win one of four vouchers (2 x £30 and 2 x £20)!
If you’re interested, follow this link to the survey here. Or, feel free to DM me or email me here for more info.
If you do decide to take part, you will be given an information sheet with details about how data will be stored, retained and published, how to withdraw your data and information about consent.
Thank you so much for your support!
Gabi

Any serbs at all? May want to start a Serbian society I’ve met one other and assume there’s one more but yea. Who would join?
Hi all, I am a first year uni student that just started in September and I am living in bay campus accommodation in a flat of 10. I am also studying at Bay campus.
I have just started to look for a 2nd year house as people already seem to be thinking about their house for next year.
My question is, what would be the best street/location to live in Swansea? Ideally I’d want it to be a short walk to a bus stop to easily get to my lectures at Bay, close enough to the shops, while also being under £140pppw. I’d most likely get into a house of 6 to 9 bedrooms.
Any 2nd, 3rd or Postgrads have any opinions?
Hi everyone! I have a new international student at Swansea University and I'm interested in learning how to cycle. I don’t know many people here yet or any local groups.
Does anyone have any tips or know of any cycling associations I could join?
Hi reddit
I recently got offer letter from Swansea University for masters in artificial intelligence . I am currently working full time in India. My tuition fees would be 22000 euros. And I would also have to pay rent and other expenses on top of that.I would be taking loan for the same.
So my questions are
How late do exams really go? I am an international student who plans on going back to my home country for internships during the summer. I was wondering if exams really go into the first week of June consistently or if it's possible my exams will be done before then. I am in the economics department, and I'd appreciate any answer!

Hello, Im wondering if freshers fayre is just student only if you have medically proved anxiety? I want to go but I dont know anybody so I wanted to bring a friend along just for moral support. Is this allowed? Thanks in advance
i’m awaiting confirmation from my letting agent to allow me to leave my current house to find somewhere else more suited for me, but i wanted to know if anyone is specifically after a room to rent so that I could have you as an option on standby to take over? The house is a 20-30 minute walk from singleton park and the rent has been covered until January. It would be with four other girls, who are clean, organised and very friendly. The rent after January would be £100 pw.
Please let me know if anyone’s interested and I will get back with more info as soon as I have confirmation 🫶
I’m coming back from a year in industry, always parked in the amazon warehouse up the road and walked into campus, I’ve seen emails about no longer being able to do this and being fined?
Has anyone had that experience? My first two years there must’ve been a good 20+ cars worth of students at the top end walking in from parking there every day, not sure what’s occurred during my year out though?
On the absolute off chance, is anyone else here studying MSc Medical Neuroscience?
I was planning to move in with my girlfriend into a studio flat but we both got offered separate rooms, which was out of our budget but we accepted and paid the deposit as a backup plan in case we couldn't find cheaper private accommodation, however we tried to cancel hers to move into mine and they let us on the condition she moves in with me, we live in London and couldn't risk not having accommodation so during this time with no response we found a cheaper accommodation, we paid the deposit and already signed the tenancy agreement, however now we are trying to cancel my student accommodation with the uni and they refuse, repeatedly saying its a breach of the contract. All I did was pay the deposit and give the necessary ID. They expect me to pay both rents and refuse to help, we have met very unprofessional staff during our calls to accommodation support, we are planning to contact the student union too as there are some personal reasons as to why we absolutely cannot afford 2 rent payments, can anyone help or give advice? It's causing us a lot of distress as they have even threatened debt, credit score impact and even degrees being held.
I’m decent at maths but haven’t done any maths past GCSE level will the Economics course be a struggle for me
I’m looking for accommodation near swansea university. I tried in uniacoo.com but it didn’t worked for me. Can someone suggest any other accommodation places/ providers which is cheap and nearby ?? Thanks in advance !!
Hello! I’m a graduate from India coming to Swansea this September for my masters in Swansea University. Can someone suggest me that which airport is better for traveling to Swansea, Cardiff or Bristol? Also, what are the best ways to get to Swansea from Cardiff or Bristol airport ??
Hey! I’m going into second year law, and I’ve honestly struggled making friends, just wanted to see if anyone is in the same boat, doing law or any degree!
Hiya. I’m starting my first year in september, and was wondering what the parking situation was like. I live in the city and didnt want to waste money on accommdation or rent so I’ll be driving.
I was planning on finding somewhere near the rec, or brynmill, but if theres any alternatives any advice would be welcome.
Thanks. :)
i got the most expensive one since they had none other left in bay campus. im wondering if can change if any of the cheaper ones are available later on
Sorry if stupid question but I’m an American and I was looking at the classes and I wanted to take some history classes and other stuff but are electives not really a thing in Europe/UK/Wales? If they are how can I sign up for them.
Disclaimer: I don’t have a passion for history I just thought it would be good to take a course about the country I’m living in
Hello! was recently watching the video on youtube that showcases the rooms in 360: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67QrGyA9lHk&list=PLRohqd\_VxwCJb1R6\_\_wQzM-RoLUmEDd9t) and was curious if the size of the premium en suite is generally as big as is shown here. I ask as I have applied for a premium this year round as opposed to the medium en suite. Any help is greatly appreciated! :)
could someone guide me how long the bus ride is from true accommodation to bay campus? i’m a new student, joining in september and I was under the impression that it’s a 20 min ride but I don’t think that’s the case since the app shows no less than 40 minutes.
International students who are travelling to Swansea University for the September intake and will be arriving in London, Heathrow Airport, how are you planning to travel to Swansea? Which is the best available option available throughout the day?
Did anyone applied or stayed at oldway centre accommodation? It looks so nice and brand new, and was better than my offer from bay campus, however I have not seen a lot of people staying there, should I apply for that accommodation?
