Anyone else used to work at Fitzpatrick referrals and have an “uncomfortable” experience?
I’ve lived in Surrey (Farnham area) for 2 years now and I feel like we’ve exhausted our list of “things to do” since there’s not much to do apart from bowling, night clubs, cinema or food! We’ve had to go to London instead a few times which is so expensive for travel plus you’re spending money on the activity.
Am I missing something? 🥲
Does anyone have any ideas of fun stuff to do for couples after work in Surrey / 1hour radius of Farnham?
Hello, I am looking for a furnished house/flat to rent and my budget is £1300pcm. I will be working in Frimley and I have a car. I would like to know which would be the best areas to live in and which areas to avoid. Thanks!!
I am a recent grad and have been offered a grad job – one of the office locations is in Reigate/Redhill and I am considering accepting it but I have a couple of worries. I’m not from the area and would have to relocate – looking on rightmove/spareroom I have found a handful of rooms within my budget that are suitable for me. One of the reasons that this job offer is so appealing to me (besides the fact that it is literally my dream job and aligns perfectly with my academic experiences and skills so far) is that all of my friends live in central London. Additionally, I have the opportunity to move into one of my friends’ places because they have a flatmate moving out – the rent is incredibly cheap for zone 1 London (and also cheaper than the places I have found on rightmove/spareroom for a 1bed or room in Redhill/Reigate as of now) but I would obviously have to commute to Reigate/Redhill everyday which I’m unsure how expensive or reliable this would be.
Assuming you were in this situation would you rather live in Reigate/Redhill or central London and commute out to surrey? How common is it that people live in London and commute out of the city everyday?
Hello everyone, just curious if anyone can recommend any free parking spots in Esher?
Heading to the cinema there tonight and usually park in the Civic Centre but not the cheapest, so just curious if there’s anywhere better to stick the car.
I work for a care company and have two people in wheelchairs who want to see film at the Vue cinema in the Atrium Shopping Centre in Camberley. However the vehicle I would use is a mini bus which is too tall for the Atrium car park. Is there anywhere near I could park a Renault Trafic Master for a few hours with easy access to the Atrium?
We are looking to get a garden room, but would ideally like to get a small local builder / business to do one rather than any of the bigger companies. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Hey everyone, I was driving home last night, done the journey loads of times but not for about 6 months or so. I was on cruise control going through the tunnel doing 68mph. About a third to halfway through the tunnel I realised there was a temporary limit of 40mph. I slowed down accordingly to about 37mph for the rest until the national sign outside of the tunnel. How likely am I to have been caught by the average speed cameras? I feel a bit stupid and I’ve been stressing like crazy about it. I’ve had my license 18 months, no points or anything. I’m worried I’ll get hit with 6 points and lose my license. Not to mention the insurance… has anyone been caught through that tunnel before? It was a genuine mistake I just didn’t see the signs until I was already in the tunnel.
This is a huge and unlikely long shot, but maybe…?
Missed Connection:
The regular train from Waterloo to Walton was canceled, so you ended up at Embankment, catching the tube to Richmond. When you walked past me on the platform, I thought you were so very attractive. You stood next to me while we waited for the 11PM train last Wednesday.
We ended up sitting one seat apart on the train, but then someone sat between us. After Turnham Green-ish, you moved across the aisle and sat opposite me. The older man who had sat between us kept accidentally falling asleep on me, which I found endearing and funny. We made eye contact and smiled at each other about it.
As we got off the train, you came up and spoke to me. I was so surprised and wished I hadn’t been so shy. Maybe the Universe will align again and I'll get a second chance.
Sigh. The heart is a lonely hunter.
Hope you got back to Walton okay.
Edit to add: I’m the girl
Hello,
Does anyone know any breakers yards in Surrey? I’m looking for an Audi A3 bonnet.
Thanks!
Thanks to everyone who responded to my last post re moving to Godalming. My partner and I visited in recent weekends and love the area. We’ve found a house we are interested in around the Aaron’s Hill/Bargate Rise/Horseshoe area. It’s clear it’s a simple postwar housing estate, nothing fancy but it fits within our budget. We didn’t have any alarm bells go off when we were walking around but can anyone advise on the area? From what I’ve read it’s perhaps not the most desirable area and there’s a few antisocial kids - to what extent is this true? Is it a safe and pleasant enough estate? I acknowledge ‘safe’ is relative but any knowledge and advice is very welcome😊
Hi, I recently moved to Guildford and desperately need a haircut. Problem is I don’t know anyone here so I don’t know where’s good. Could I get some recommendations? (An added bonus would be if you know they take card but I appreciate that’s a long shot with barbers).
Hi,
I run a run a D&D group on Tuesday nights in Redhill. We’ve had a couple of people move out of the area, so we’re looking to bring in two new players. Although the group has been around for a while, you don't need any experience to join.
The sessions are in games shop, start around 6:15, finish at 9:00pm and there's a car park 60-seconds away that's free after 6:00pm.
I'm fairly new to the area and wondering if there are clubs / activities / sports around on Wednesdays?
Any recommendations for a pub with good food/Sunday roasts near Newlands corner?
As I was driving this morning I saw a car in the woods on the left-hand side of the road when you're driving towards the A3 roundabout. Does anyone have information on when or how this happened?
I'm looking for other witches that live in and around Camberley, whether that's a coven or just like minded individual(s). I'd love to hear from you and have a chat! :)
Amazing hotels with incredible food in Surrey or surrounding borders. I want somewhere really special for an anniversary. Thanks!
29yo m and fairly new to the area , as the title suggests id love to find some new friends for my 8 year old sheprador (he's a super good boy and loves all dogs big and small) and just people to go on regular walks with. On a side note if anybody plays guitar and wants to jam in the evenings / weekends please DM me and if there's any pike fisherman / women thats a added bonus. Hope to hear back from you lovely lot.
Is Godalming a nice place to live for a couple in their mid twenties? Is it safe (I know Surrey is very safe relative to other areas!)
Hello! I've just got engaged and I'm so excited!!
Hoping for some recommendations for reception venues that are on the budget side. And would love anyones recommendations ☺️
Location: we're in Surrey but open to other counties as I know how expensive it is here! So very open to Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex etc etc
Space type: we want it to be super casual. Something like a pub or something quirky would be cool. Looking for a space that doesn't really need decorating so we can save budget for other things. We do also LOVE the beach.
Capacity: we want to try and keep it "small" 50ish people
Food: were super open to ideas like sharing boards, BBQ etc. although we love food want to keep it relatively low cost - the priority for us is a party with our closest family and friends
When: Hopefully September 2025! Friday or a Saturday
Budget: ideally want to keep it to £10k for venue, decorating, food, drinks and if we can stretch it a band ,😅
Also if you have recommendations for photographers, bands etc around these areas please do drop them in too!
Thank you so much
What are the main industries/attractions that drive people to Guildford except for the University?
Can't find a good one!
We are looking to make the move from SW London to Woking (ideally Horsell). We still require access to London for work, and had initially been looking only at property within a decent walking distance to the station. We're now considering widening our search to get a bigger property and value for money by buying slightly further out and driving in to the station. Can anyone who regularly does this commute share any information as to whether it's ever a struggle to find parking spaces and any current pricing? We'd be commuting in on popular commuter days (either a Tuesday or Thursday). Thank you!
Hi there! I’m an FTB and my partner and I are looking to buy our first home with a budget of about £550k. We want to be about 30 minute drive from my family home in Croydon with decent transport links into London and good primary schools.
There are lots of options for this however we are also quite keen to get somewhere that has a strong sense of community, independent shops, etc. Does anyone have any recommendations?
I’m a FTB with a budget of 450k, looking to buy a 2/3 bed in Guildford (house not flat). I’m not too familiar with the area, what parts of Guildford would you recommend looking at with this budget? Is there anywhere within 1mile from Guildford station around this price point? Are there any areas to avoid? Thanks
Hi everyone! My husband and I are planning to move close to Guildford station. We’re a small family, and we’re looking for advice on the best areas to live, school recommendations, and how convenient the commute to London is. Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
