I'm seeing lamp posts capped with what appears to be a microcell base - a grey cylinder. They're still partially wrapped in plastic, incomplete wiring, and no FCC label. Is somebody bringing home cellular internet to the area?

Are there any bars that cater to the election night crowd? Like a sports bar that tunes into CNN one night every two years? There's going to be a need to commiserate or celebrate.

I moved to Sunnyvale like 2 years ago and I never made a big effort to make friends. I have a lot of online friends from around the country, but I'm starting to really miss regularly hanging out with people IRL. I work in tech, so I'm kind of a nerd by default, but I'm also a normal dude. I'm looking for people in a similar situation, because, from what I've heard, you're out there.

My interests:

- Video Games - FPS (TF2, CS2, Fortnite, COD), Base Building (Oxygen Not Included, Factorio), TCG (Marvel Snap), and many more.

- Getting drinks - Going to bars/breweries and shooting the shit.

- Comedy - Going to comedy clubs, watching new online specials.

- Politics - I'm Liberal but idgaf if you're Conservative or Leftist (I've been good friends with both). My only hard limit is if you're not cool with LGBT people, that ain't cool.

- Outdoor Activities - I really appreciate going on a short hike (~2mi) every week or two.

- Board Games - Pandemic, Sushi Go Party, Catan, Ticket to Ride, etc.

If you think we might get along, DM me and we can make plans to go out for drinks (1-2 hours) sometime soon. My long-term goal is to make a small friend group of like 4-5 guys who hang out weekly.

Sitting at home and heard the crows get louder and louder and louder. Looked out the window and they were circling a consistent spot. Upon closer inspection, they are harassing a hawk sitting at top of tree. They left for two minutes and then came back with about 500 more than before.

Hey everyone. So I just want to know what cleaning services anyone would recommend? I just want to get my 1-bedroom apartment deep-cleaned. I’m not moving out, but I just want people who can more thoroughly clean my place than I can to come in and really get in there behind couches and under desks and such.

I do de-dust my apartment and I have a Roomba vacuum cleaner, but I wanna get a team in who can really dig into any grime I miss. Anyone got any recommendations on what company I should use?

The lease break is gonna happen regardless, I’m just not liking it here. I thought I could tough it out but it’s starting to affect my sleep.

There’s nothing wrong with the apartment per se, but living alone on the first floor is not something I’m cut out for personally.

The only thing I’m waffling on is whether I should break it now or wait till January when the market is more busy because I’m on the hook for rent until a new tenant is signed on.

BUT this is a prime location in Sunnyvale off Maude Ave, not too expensive (below 3k), great location near a lot of big employers, I have a feeling I might get lucky?

We have two of these charging stations at our office (near the Google Humboldt campus) and a few weeks ago someone came at night at cut the cables. There is another one not pictured next to this one, and it was untouched.

I know people will steal wiring for the copper, but this doesn't seem like a lot of copper to me (no expert).

But if they did want copper, why was the other one left alone? Weird.

Kinda a weird request but hear me out;

Earlier this week I won an auction on eBay for an Omni Pro treadmill for a great price point, I'm trying to set it up with the one I already own and do some VR multiplayer. Would be really cool. (I'm apart of a VR development group.) However getting to go grab it might take some time on my end, as I live in Colorado at the Denver area. Possibly a week. The guy I'm buying it for would like it picked up or he'd likely rescind my bid and put it up for sale again, which I said was fine, but he gave me some time to get it picked up somehow.

So I was wondering if someone might be able to pick it up for me and hold it until I could come pick it up myself. These things are a tad bit bulky but can be put away easily in a garage or whatever. I can compensate for the trouble, it would help me out immensely!

Hell, if you have a VR setup, feel free to use it until I pick it up. :-P

Sunnyvale City Council voted unanimously to approve UBI pilot program alternatives 1 and 4 as proposed by city staff. Staff is directed to look for non-City funding to let the pilot proceed. What is not clear is whether there are any funding sources.

Where are folks getting their cars maintained these days? I have a car with over 100k miles needing oil change, timing belt, etc.

I was between cars for a while, then bought a used Hyundai. I took it to Stress Free for the last oil change. The guy there mentioned my tires could use replacing, but I literally had new tires put on the day before, so they had about 2 miles on them total. I'd like to find somewhere more honest. Thanks!

[edit: for folks suggesting DIY, I know how to change my oil. I totalled my Mustang and bought this high mileage vehicle with cash. Not only does my lease prevent working on cars on the property, but I have medical stuff going on right now and just want to pay someone honest to help me keep it on the road. Thanks!]
