Should I always be available for my residence?

I am an international student living in a student (CROUS) residence in France, and I wonder if the guard of the residence demands that you should always be available? For instance, the last time I talked to the residence was this morning, because of some issues with my key, and we agreed to meet tomorrow morning to figure it out (I got another key meanwhile). Some minutes ago she knocked on my door again (I am happy that she wants to help) but I was in the shower, and anyways, I do have the spare key so it's fine. I know this isn't a big deal, but I was just wondering if they get angry if you don't respond right away IN GENERAL. I am also listening to music etc., so I might not hear her knocking (I can hear the fire alarm etc.).

I desperately need participants for my study (110 are needed): Study on perception of Home Security (Guardianship) ~15min, Everyone 18+

Hello there :)

I am doing my Master's thesis at the moment and I am looking into the perception of different security measures during different daytimes. I would appreciate it if you could participate in my study. I still need 110 more and I should start analysing the data tomorrow 🫠 I have 42 so far. (So I am really desperate)

You will have to watch 2 videos (each 2-3min long) and fill out a questionnaire after each video. In the end there is also a personality questionnaire and a realism scale. It shouldn't take longer than 15min.

Survey

Have a good day or night 😊

Have I made the right decision to take a break before entering college?

Hi!! In a few weeks I’ll graduate shs, I’ve already took entrance exams from 2 universities and passed, tho I’m not qualified sa program na dapat kong kunin sa isang univ and I have a low PR sa isang pang univ and 50/50 if makuha ako since I have a low PR and less priority na yon sa pagpili T-T. After seeing my results parang nawalan ako ng gana idek if gusto ko ba talaga yung program na dapat kong kunin. What I really want is to be a pilot, pero I want to have a degree muna before proceeding pero rn naguguluhan nako. Kanina lang I have thought about what if I’ll take a one year break and pagisipan kung ano ba talaga kunin ko, I feel like I need this break to make proper decisions, and if I’ll take a break gagamitin ko yung 1 year to save up (a little something to help my parents sa expenses) if ever papayagan ako ng parents ko to proceed on aviation then maybe I can take programs inline sa aviation. Ahhh idk naaa.

SURVEY FOR HND PRODUCT DESIGN GRADED UNIT

Hi, I'm currently doing my HND for Product Design right now. I've started my graded unit and it's to design a bag that meets all the needs for a design student or professional and can effectively store, organise and protect their materials (sketchbooks, folders, pencil cases, models, etc.) I have provided a survey below to gather further insight into the problems and experiences of people's bags.

(If you're not a design student or professional of any kind, feel free to answer it anyway, any response is a good response.)

Gold hearted people ..

first of all hello everyone My name is Berkay. I am 19 years old and I live in Turkey. I am studying at university in Istanbul. My life is very tiring and heavy. I'm having trouble getting by. Maybe it's embarrassing to ask for help here, but I believe in this community. I don't have many friends and family in my life. But maybe a few good-hearted people from here can help me pay my rent and bills. I don't know... If there are good-hearted people who want to support, thank you very much.

What’s the best iPad I should get for school?

Title says it all. I would like a keyboard and Apple Pencil too, but not sure which one’s best for a reasonable price. I’m currently on a laptop (Lenovo Yoga 6) but wanted to move to iPad.

Informatics bachelor

I'm currently unsure whether to choose LMU or ETHZ. Is it difficult to keep up at LMU and do the vacations actually work as a vacation? I heard that no one can really relax at ETHZ since the vacations are before finals. Is the workload ok? And what does the male female ratio look like for bachelors in informatics? Are you able to have a student life? (e.g. nightlife..) Is it international?

How to keep going while failing classes

This is more of a student vent.

I'm a 3rd year college physics student, and this semester has really been hitting hard. I've usually never struggled too much in any of my classes and I've usually been able to push through... but this semester has really set me back. I've never failed a class, let alone EVERY SINGLE ONE, not only that, my grades where the lowest in the entire class. I've really been trying but nothing sticks. I've been seen my fellow classmates actually succeed and being able to, at least, grasp the concepts but no mater how much I've studied I'm usually the worst in the class.

This has really been an unmotivated, I've never doubted myself and I've always been sure "yes, I want to be a physicist". But now I don't know, I still love it and it's the only thing that makes me happy, but it hurts that the only thing that makes you happy is the one thing you are nor good at.

I have to repeat all of my classes because I've failed every single one. The professors have been looking at me with disappointment, and I feel it. Idk, I'm just tired of trying but never managing to make any significant change. I really don't think I have what it takes anymore, but I don't want to do anything... basically I'm stuck 😅

Idk, maybe someone can relate?? Being horrible at the one thing you truly love??

International students - What are the biggest challenges you face with international money transfers?

For context, I’m an undergraduate and I am in the process of creating an international transfer software focused on low fees and simplicity, especially for transfers to developing countries because I know that's where the problems lie.

I’d love to hear about your experiences. Which services do you use? How often do you use them and is it easy? What issues do you face?

I don't know where to study

There are so many universities I just have no idea how to find the one that would fit me. I would love a bigger city that offers a good student life but also something that has a good QS ranking and high job acceptance afterwards. It is incredibly difficult for me to find anything good. My friend studies at Manchester and adores it but I have a German Abitur and although it's recognized my grades don't seem to be enough even with an integrated foundation year at Manchester since they have very high expectations. I could get into ETHZ which is a very prestigious university but all I see on reddit is people saying how the university life is basically just studying. TU Delft seems really nice offering a lot of extracurriculars for students but unlike Manchester it's very small outside the campus and I don't know if that would offer a nice student life. I am incredibly lost and don't know where to look anymore. I was planning to start my bachelor's 2025/26 for computer science. I'd guess my Abitur grade anything fron a 2.0-3.0 which should be a ABB-CCC in A levels and 36-30 in the IB. Any help is deeply appreciated!

does fafsa help non traditional students under 25?

Hello I am a 21 year old Hispanic female. In high school I received all A’s except for one class- biology (I did do a few honor classes, a few dual enrollment, and one AP course). I had to take two gap years because I found out my mom didn’t report her taxes and she had my older brother claim me as a dependent. However, I couldn’t use his tax info for fafsa because he isn’t 23 and older and isn’t my parent/guardian. I also got really depressed and couldn’t put the courage to do community college and find a job. I have bad anxiety when it comes to change but I’m trying to work on it. Anyways, I wanted to ask if anyone who is under 25 and is a non traditional student wanting to return to school- did any of y’all receive fafsa if your a dependent on your parents taxes? I’m only asking because my mom went to ask someone who does taxes (since she’s reporting her back taxes) if I’m eligible to be a dependent on her taxes for fafsa and they told her I’m highly unlikely. My plan was to go to community college for two or three years (even if I payed out of pocket) and transfer to a university with the intent of fafsa covering the tuition for university. Please if anyone who falls under this situation or something similar, can I get your opinion on this topic or any advice. Thanks.

Seventh Grade NJSLA/Standardized Testing Help

I'm a seventh grade student in New Jersey, and in my city, middle school is where academics start being important and something to worry about. We also have this college-type high school thing going on, with a bunch of different high schools that are all viewed differently. The high school I'm aiming for (the most prestigious/highly rated one) bases it mostly off of standardized testing scores. Next week starts my NJSLA, and I'm really stressed out over it, and want to do the best I can. I need help with studying, could anyone please provide as much help as possible. Thanks in advance.
