Hearing all the devastating news on Hurricane Milton, and my eldest son has said that apparently the system was stretching the realms of the mathematical associated with hurricanes and that if the system got much bigger/faster/lower pressure it would have collapsed on itself….
Does this means it just dies out? Or does it have some other effect?
Hi everyone,
We understand that natural disasters can be a sensitive topic, and we want to approach this with care. We're a group of 2nd year MSI students at the University of Michigan, and we’re researching how IoT (Internet of Things) devices can help improve emergency systems during natural disasters.
If you’ve been affected by past disasters or feel comfortable sharing your thoughts, we would greatly appreciate your input. The survey is anonymous and takes about 10-20 minutes.

For streaming feeds I recommend:
Ryan Hall, Brett Adair of LSM, Mike the weather guy, Brandon Copic, Freddy Mckinney,
They are providing storm streams and near ground zero reports for most of today and tomorrow. Ryan Halls team also tracks tornadoes by radar and through chase team feeds to his stream. Other ethical chasers on the sidebar will be there, live, as well.
Also see:
Florida disaster information including Evac Maps, zones, notices and assistance.
The Whitehouse is on reddit /u/Whitehouse - you can see the various states they are providing information to on the Disasters to help clear the clutter of dangerous disinformation. This will help get assistance to people and help save lives. I will be posting the actual sub as soon as it is available.
Ok so instead of trying to explain to them how the global jet stream works with high and low pressure systems and record Gulf heat to create a hurricane, we just agree with them.
Tell the conspiracycultists that since Dems can conjure a precisely targeted 800 mile wide storm at the snap of a finger- and they know where they live- they need to STFU, or ELSE. Then tell 'em Dems are secretly contacting all other nations on earth and threatening to take over the globe with their Storm-God powers to give free school lunches to all their kids.
Seriously, if all of this disinformation wasn't impacting storm recovery efforts and efforts to share the information victims need to get assistance, I wouldn't care. But it's cluttering up the recovery effort space - it's very detrimental. People even think that FEMA isn't going to help so they aren't bothering to apply, and are just suffering.
