Just wanted to thank everyone for taking the time and providing their input and recommendations. I ended up ordering the rent and it got here today. Blew my expectations away this thing rips
There is a “couple shots of my new runt” posts that immediately start talking about porn and links to dodgy sites. I reported them and got a “this doesn’t violate content policy” reply.
Seriously? There’s another one today with the same thing. This sub is toast if they don’t squash this quickly.
And don’t click on any “a couple shots” posts FFS
Need help deciding between the runt or the og. Tia
I know that this is a very dangerous practice and that I assume a huge risk when attempting this!!! I appreciate warnings but I am trying to get answers and recommendations instead of lazy words of warning. I work with DC electricity by trade, so I have seen how nasty it is.
I feel like I missed the boat on the fractal bricks that were sold a few years ago, so Im looking to create my own using a Neon Sign Transformer burning kit, which I found on Amazon.
I wanna know what experience y’all have when doing this especially on Walnut wood. I will be posting separately on a woodworking sub to get those fellas opinions. Thank you for your time!
Is it possible to use a log as the heat source?
Just joined the sub today! Glad to be here. I have a scenario not unlike others:
Would an OG fit this bill? I’ll almost never use water. Portability was important but the Jr looks too small for what I want and seems to be the only one that houses 100% of its parts. Then looked at Runt and thought, if this is just for home then why not the OG.
Is this at all logical? Thanks ahead of time.
SBL has a sale for walnut Juniors at $99.
I really do love my Twist. It has officially supplanted the OG as my favorite Brick.
But the OG remains in a dominant #2 position.
Anyway, I never was that enthused about the stock wood choices for the Twist, which are limited to walnut and cherry woods. Was thinking about this other day, because I'd really like to have a Twist in some other wood.
So, I contacted SBL. And I was informed they can do a custom wood, which in the case of the Twist will add around $20 to the cost (~$120). My initial idea was to get leopardwood, which I think would look very cool cut from a single piece (I do have a Runt in leopardwood, and while I love it, it was two different pieces of wood).
Unfortunately, a Twist in leopardwood is not an option, but purpleheart, canary, black limba and yellow heart are available for the Twist. So, purpleheart it is.
I'm informed that my order can't be submitted for another week or so, as the workshop is currently set up to produce a batch of Runts.
I knew there were custom Bricks available but had never looked into the process or had any idea of the cost. Although custom orders of larger Bricks would likely entail a bigger premium than the Twist, I'm guessing that it wouldn't be too bad.
Anyway, if anyone else was interested in knowing more about custom SBs, maybe this is helpful.
I found some older threads on people saying that using the S&B dosing caps was a bad idea due to the possibility of the heat breaking down the aluminum and causing fumes. These were mostly posts from a few years ago. Whats the current consensus on caps? Have actual tests been done to verify good/bad?
I tried using one this AM. Started with the cap on it and then removed it to finish wo the cap on. It was nice to drop in/out and no mess (same reason I like them in my Mighty). I feel like taste was a little muted, but that might’ve been in my head.
New SB user here. I’ve only had my Runt for a few days and I was getting the hang of it pretty good for a few days. I decided to take out the restrictor disk and that really opened it up. Yesterday and into today, I started combusting. Up to that point, I hadn’t combusted, so it was weird I was all of the sudden and I hadn’t changed any variables. I decided to clean the screen and now it’s back to normal!
It’s amazing what impact a small variable has on the performance and efficiency of the SB (and all butane vapes).
I’m going to order a bunch of screens to have on hand. 15mm SS seems to be the thing to get?
How do I get the screen out of the bowl to clean it? Just dig it out and damage it in the process?
I used it yesterday night and this morning there’s condensation in the mouthpiece tube. Is that common?
Hey everyone, quick question. Has anyone been able to contact SBL support recently? Having issues with package delivery but feels like there's no support team to contact.
I've been emailing and DM'ing them on on Instagram but so far it's been more than a week and no replies anywhere.
Anyone had recent experience with SBL support? If so, how were you able to reach them and get a response?
Never owned a sticky brick before, but decided I wanted one of each. (I’ll pick up a twist if they ever make it in exotics)
Maxx - Purple Heart 💜 OG - Padauk Junior - Padauk Runt - Canary Flip - Zebra Wood
Also bought a Vapman in Olivewood and a dynavap woodwynd in Padauk.
I may have a thing for vaping and exotic hardwoods. 😂
I’m finding varying answers online..
hello I love my sticky brick og and my nova, but I have questions about butane I have looked through all the forums to find an answer but everyone says everything and its opposite do you think that using butane with my brick is more harmful than combustion?
Hello all,
I’m trying to take advantage of Black Friday deals and I’m contemplating ordering either a flip brick or a twist brick. I’m sort of confused though. Does the flip brick offer anything over the twist other than being able to stand on its own? Thanks in advance guys (from a new sticky brick enthusiast).
I've been using the Serpent for the past 4 years. I ended up buying three of them to get around the only serious flaw, the lack of a fuel gauge and too many sessions interrupted by an empty tank.
But now I'm down to my last Serpent and I know it's only a matter of time. On the two that have already failed, the ignition toggle stopped working. I'd really prefer something with more durability, but at the $25 each I paid for these, I'd buy three more at that price in heartbeat. For me, it was the perfect vape torch.
But Vertigo no longer make them and I haven't been able to find any remaining stock online in the US.
So, I need a replacement. The primary criteria here is something that can be operated inverted 90 degrees, as I prefer the straight intake on the OG. I also use my Maxx a few times a week, and the inverted torch is needed there, too.
Here's a link to a picture of the Serpent to give you an idea of the form factor. The other thing I liked about it was that it was hand-size, with a height under 4 inches.

So, I appreciate any suggestions for a good alternative.
FWIW, I have found another torch that works pretty well on the SB bent intakes.

Hey All
I am moving to an apartment block and I am worried about the sound of my jet lighters clicking annoying the neighbours late at night.
Does anyone use/know of a solution for heating the sticky bricks without using a jet lighter.
I have seen online a few different induction heaters but not really any that is viable to be purchased in Australia.
How do you guys clean the wood where the mouthpiece goes? I noticed a shit ton of build up and I'm struggling to properly clean it with the scraper
I need new screens for my sticky and wonder if anyone here have a good Amazon link that sends to Europe.
I have been using 3 and now and a 4 flame torch and have cracked flip brick intake. This is my second. Cracked a straight one. Is there an extra risk of cracking glass with the multiple flame torches? Is there a technique people use to prevent cracks? Pic below. I suppose I can't use anymore?
