I've made some improvements to the game UI in version 13.10.0:

The Hide Table button now cycles through three states: Everything visible; cards, name labels, and player clothes hidden; and all UI elements hidden (except the Hide Table button itself). Thus you can make screenshots like this:

If you use the Dialogue Log feature (found in the Game Menu) to "roll back" to an earlier game state, the entire state is now recorded, so you can review which hands everyone had (and what you were wearing, etc.). If Auto Fade is enabled, the cards are shown or hidden appropriately depending on the game phase.

Rolled back to an earlier round where Darkness lost with king high

The Auto Advance feature, which you may or may not know about, used to be something you enabled in the Options modal (with separate speed settings for when you're doing the forfeit yourself and when the winner has been decided), and when active, you couldn't click the main button to advance manually. Now you can control it through buttons on the screen (or the +/- keys). Combine with the fully hidden UI for an unobstructed and hands-free game ending experience.

Because hiding the UI also hides the player countdown box, which "explodes" to signify the player finishing, there's a new finishing effect, but you'll have to try it out yourselves by losing the game.

As you can see, a minor change is that the Feedback button is now smaller in order to avoid overlapping the cards.

The improved Rollback required some major changes to the code, but hopefully I've tested all corner cases and fixed all bugs. Feedback is welcome!

BTW if you don't know what I mean by Monika avoiding Amy, when you select two DDLC characters, and the four recommended characters show up, it recommends the other girls, including Amy, but she will glitch twice before being replaced by a different character. As far as I'm aware, that's the only menu glitch event, right?

So, it's been a few (ish?) months since the GID Offline Server got up and running, and judging from bandwidth consumption (I don't keep access logs, because what you do in your own time is your own business) it at least gets a smattering of use.

One of the things that bugged me with my initial setup was that it only updated once a day, at like 3 AM my time. So I made some changes to the update script, and now it checks for updates on the hour, every hour, and rebuilds if there's any updates upstream. This shouldn't mess up in-play sessions, but if it does, do let me know.

As always, if there's any general concerns or questions, here's a good place to put them.

The seventh annual Strip Poker Night the Inventory Character Feedback Poll has ended. It'd been running since late in the summer, to the point where many were surprised it was still up! Typically they've been held more at the peak of summer, which may have contributed to lower turnout this time around, but the grand total of 437 responses is still nothing to scoff at.

Fortunes rise and fall. Last year, the poll was more active, but the game grew quiet. Here, it was the opposite! Brand-new characters were dropping onto Testing all the time and thus onto the form itself. They were matched by the number of characters graduating onto Main. Many were projects started through the community Masquerade event! SPNatI's cast has grown so large that some respondents expressed fatigue at just filling the form out, especially because much of the roster has gone some time without updates. It's a good problem to have, but one that may inspire some changes to next year's format. Stay tuned. (And if you like those old characters, consider adopting them!)
