Space Industry UK Jobs

Good Morning All!

Just swinging through here as an absolute space nerd. I'm probably not one to become a candidate to leave this planet, but I want to be part of the team who sends someone else.

I work in IT, massive background in Data Centres, Infrastructure, Cloud work, Data Storage & a good chunk of Desktop Support background. Can you help me find a good portal into working with a Space Agency or Supplier in the UK that will accept... y'know, a full British National with Security Clearance?

Would love to help send Falcons up into orbit, but they're not big on British Nationals working from home...

Lots of thanks and even more love!

VIPER - U.K. savings NASA moon landing.

As you maybe aware NASA recently announced it was closing down its VIPER mission despite having build the rover and paid for the lander. This seems crazy but I feel might give the U.K. an opportunity.

NASA have said they’ll look for 3rd parties to work with to make it happen but the deadline in the 1st of August to begin talks.

This seems to give the U.K. A once in a generation opportunity to become partners on a cut price moon lander.

To try and make this happen I beg you to reach out to your local MP and ask them to support this.

Here’s a form email you can use or adapt. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1HMuRVC6dvlWdiqR0VSsbMXpSDnIbQA3HqpG125gcLCk/edit

Any Basingstoke Astronomers?

I run a small event in Basingstoke and every year everyone comments in the amazing night sky. I would love to get someone who knows what they are doing to come along with a telescope. Paid gig if anyone fancies it?

DM me is best

UK Space Agency's "Space For Everyone Tour" is currently underway. It's FREE for anyone to attend and you get to see a orbital capable rocket (....replica). See below for more details

As it's free this is, of course, not sponsored in any way. I just think more people need to be made aware of this opportunity and there's not been enough advertising or signposting of it

around the UK

Find more details at their website here: https://spaceperson.co.uk/rocket-tour/

The Schedule:

1-5 June - Southampton (sorry I'm only posting after this one)

22-26 June - Swansea, Dylan Thomas Square

29-3 July - Leicester, National Space Centre

6-10 July - Bradford, Centenary Square

20-24 July - Belfast, Cathedral Gardens

3-7 Aug - Aberdeen, Queens Links

10-14 Aug - Newcastle, Times Square

17-21 Aug - Hull, Queen Victoria Square

24-28 Aug - Great Yarmouth, Sea Life Gardens

31-4 Sept - Hastings, Hastings Pier

Electron visible from UK?????

I'm not very involved in space, but last night I saw what looked to be a rocket-trail at about 278 degrees west, I'm not sure what it was and my phone took some awful photos but to me it looked like a rocket trail. Could it have been electron coming over from New Zealand???
