I didn’t add solus to the windows boot loader file in the installation setup and made a different efi, now i want to add windows entry to the systemd-boot menu.
So I installed discover and enabled the flat hub repository. Seems to be working well. However I am getting an error when I shut down my PC regarding flatpak. I'm sure it's a known issue, just wanted to share that flathub with discover works and I guess the error on shutdown will probably be resolved at some point
Good evening everyone, so I have this MacBook Air 2014, i5 4260U, 8GB/512GB and installing Solus on it with full disk encryption fails, here is the log https://termbin.com/gatx2 Ubuntu 22.04.1, openSUSE Leap 15.6 and Tumbleweed install just fine.
Solus installs fine with no encryption but I need full disk encryption. What could it be?
How do I re-login to my online accounts? Since I changed the password for my google account it has been showing me a notification error, but I can't find it anywhere to update it.
Swapped RX 570 for Nvidia 4060 and now I can't boot into Solus.
All I get is my motherboard bootscreen and can't go further.
Manually selecting SSD with Solus, just shows MB bootscreen.
On Windows, it boots fine.
How can I get Solus working again?
Assuming it's a GPU driver problem?
note: WIndows and Linux on separate SSD
Hi, I am working on getting Solus set up for myself. I am running on a lenovo p300 tiny with a quadro 1000. One monitor is plugged in through HDMI, the other is through the quadro. I did a fresh install, and both monitors worked fine. I installed the Nvidia drivers through the command line, rebooted, and now only the monitor plugged into the quadro works. This is the screenshot of inxi. Any help would be great
After installing Solus Plasma on my Dell intel laptop which has an Nvidia RTX-A2000 dgpu I ran the doflcky app and successfully installed Nvidia driver 560. But I am confused. when it boot it defaults to Nvidia. I come from openSUSE their method was after Nvidia install it boots with intel and if you want to run an app on Nvidia you use an enviroment statement on launch of app. Does Solus have something like that? I looked in Nvidia Server Setting but I did not see additional profiles set up. Can I do that? Did attempt using a terminal command to change drivers active but prime-select is not installed and not available. So I thought should ask before I give up. Any suggestions, please?
there is a problem with the display managers (GDM, LightDM)... judging by the logs, they start without errors, but after starting, the monitors switch to power saving mode and do not react to anything...
I used to use Solus as my daily driver for my old laptop for more than 2 years. I switched to Manjaro for my new laptop due to the turmoils Solus development was going through past few years.
I am really happy to see that Solus is back on it's legs with the development going more smoothly than ever, this tells alot about resilience of alot of smaller distros out there.
I am trying out Solus again, seeing the new changes and improvements since I left it. Oh I remember the days when I had to compile alot of the packages due to the main repo being small, but it seems lot of new packages have now being added, Solus seems to be better than ever.
Also still surprised, how fast & smooth solus still is, that was the main reason I switched to solus back on my old laptop. Solus gave it a new life.
I hope to see Solus grow more & more in the future, maybe try to help solus grow myself :P
Use to running on OS with automatic btrfs snapshots, along with rescuezilla once a week for the last year or so.
What are the best options if i was to install solus in terms of backing up the root partitition and the home partition? I was thinking Back in Time + Timeshift although i've had issues with timeshift restores in the past.
Any suggestions?
Just built a new PC and about to put it together.
Moving from R7 1700 and RX 570 4GB to R7 9700x and ARC A770 16GB.
Have heard intel cards have some issues on windows, but most have been mitigated.
Didn't heard about how linux handles these ARC cards.
As far as the 9700x,read that Windows has some optimization issues, but linux should be fine.
Anyone use an ARC GPU on linux?
What's that about? Is almost as if I've gone out of their way to stop people installing a SECOND DE. And if you try it seems to break(deliberately??) things.
I might use for distro on a virtual machine but personally I like having a distro with a couple of desktop environments on, I don't see the issue other for maybe there's not enough developers on the project to maintain the amount of bug reports already.
tried with blank pass and live pass and get "unlocking failed" for both. Any ideas?
Hello everyone,
I've just got a new laptop, an Acer Swift sfg16-71, and I want to know before I install Solus if the battery life is well managed with this distro and if I will have good performances on FM24, the only game I play. Thank you !
My computer doesn’t have an SSD and I’m not confident in taking it apart and putting an SSD inside.
hi, i just installed Solus alongside my Fedora Silverblue on my laptop and i must say im loving the experience width Budgie DE. Now i can finally say that my favorite distros are Solus- Budge, Fedora-Gnome, Arch-Gnome, Mint-Cinnamon.

Hi, I just updated today and couldn't boot, not sure if it's a grub or new kernel issue so I decided to use the eopkg history feature to revert back. Already mounted into the proper partition and have used 'sudo eopkg history -t version' but it looks like it's having trouble downloading? https://pastebin.com/dE7SXpGu
I am connected to the internet and am posting this on a live solus usb
