Reporting Software

I’m looking for a windows based software or web/cloud solution that will let me do something very simple.

Provide a csv with expenses, merchant names, dates, amounts, and category fields.

And provide an excel template file.

I want to provide a column mapping and have the software output an excel file in the format of the template file but with the content of the csv.

I tried doing this through power query but it’s a bit beyond me building or managing long term.

This was a very simple feature of “Neat Desktop” receipt manager but the software is now obsolete and the Cloud version is atrocious.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Looking for Software (Free/Paid) to Remove Exif Metadata from Large Video Files

I’m looking for software that can efficiently remove metadata from large video files, both free and paid options. Please suggest anything besides ExifTool or FFmpeg, as I prefer not to work in the command prompt. Maybe I’m not interested in online tools like Pics. io or MetaCleaner, as my video files exceed their maximum size, and they won’t let me upload them. Any help would be appreciated!

Wanted: a modal text editor for Termux on Android

I'm searching for a text editor that:

  • Is modal (like Vim and Emacs);
  • Runs in a Linux terminal;
  • Has configurable colors and syntax;
  • Has keyboard shortcuts easy to type on a standard Android phone on-screen keyboard (much unlike Vim and Emacs).

Currently, I'm using micro on Termux, in my Android phone; it isn't modal, except for a command line, and still requires the Ctrl and Alt keys.

Any recommendations?

Any Win software that batch translate specific paragraph in txt files

I have a group of nfo files with contents as below.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?><episodedetails> <title>My king did not wish to see me</title> <showtitle>Boundless (2022)</showtitle> <userrating>0</userrating> <top250>0</top250> <season>1</season> <episode>1</episode> <displayseason>-1</displayseason> <displayepisode>-1</displayepisode> <outline></outline> <plot>After being rejected by the King of Portugal, Magellan looks for another way to achieve his dream.</plot> <tagline></tagline>

Is there a software that could allow me to drag a group of nfo or txt files and auto translate the paragraph between <title> </title> <plot></plot> to other languages.

Does anyone know about a Video Conversion tools for the regular user?

So i'm going to preface this by saying that I know/used ffmpeg and Shutter Encoder. However, the first I found to be too complex, and Shutter though more attractive still gave me a headache.

I'm not too tech savvy, nor do I regularly convert videos or edit them. All i want is a simple and straightforward tool that will allow me to convert, for example, WebM video to MKV or other formats that retain the same video quality without too much of a hassle. Also, it should allow me to convert a video's audio codec. I do this bcs my TV doesn't support WebM or Opus.

So yeah, I need a simple software that even a 10 year old child could use without a ten page or 1 hour tutorial, all while retaining the same source video and audio quality. Thanks in advance

EDIT: Solution!!

So, I've finally found the kind of software I was looking for. Handbrake is easy to use and understand, and it has a portable ver.!!! It did the job perfectly, it converted a webm 2160p video to a MKV without losing its quality, I was also able to easily modify its audio codec. I'm currently watching the video on my TV without issue. Thank u all for your help

10/10 would recommend.

I built a way for people to use Claude 3.5 Sonnet, GPT-4o, Gemini Pro, Stable Diffusion, and more, all under $20/month for all.

6 months ago, I was a broke college student paying $40/month for Claude Pro and GPT4.

I needed a way to use all these different AI models in one platform, and I knew even if I setup a simple interface for myself, it'd be cheaper to use the API rather than using their interface's.

So 1 month ago, I did exactly this. I was heads down building for 10 days and built ninjachat dot ai where you can use 10 LLMs in one platform for the price of one Chat GPT subscription.

I'd love to hear feedback on how you like the platform and areas that I can improve on.

Does anyone know a software that can dim per program? Ie, launch a PDF reader, apply an overlay to it.

Just seems like something I would expect to exist but cannot find.

Malcrow - Analysis Environment Scarecrow for Windows 10/11

Hello everyone! I've released the first version of my software called Malcrow. You can read more about it on my Github. It works to create fake processes, registry keys, and eventually services to mock an analysis environment to prevent malware from running.

I made this after coming across Cyber Scarecrow (a non open source version of this). The difference being is that I wanted to make an open source version that anyone could work on, use, or modify.

Project/portifolio management software

Hey! I've been looking for some software for project/portifolio management, open source if possible! Something that can be used by multiple people that can add updates and maybe do some graphics or statistics based on this updates? Kind of like Microsoft Planner! Thank you :)

Is it possible to make a .dvds file with DVDStyler and burn it with ImgBurn?

DVDStyler works great for burning videos and creating menus, but has constant fails when burning recently now that I have Windows 11. So since you can save DVDStyler profiles as .dvds, I was wondering if I can burn that file on a DVD and work in a DVD Player.

Software I can use to download an entire YouTube playlist? I'm willing to pay if needed

I previously used 4K Video Downloader, but it hasn't been reliable, so I'm looking for a replacement.

Like I said, I'm not concerned if I have to pay for a premium/upgraded version of whatever program anyone might suggest. I just need to download whole playlists (with sometimes hundreds or thousands of videos) at 1080 or better quality.

Thanks.

Does it make a difference if you convert wav or flac files (from the same source) to mp3? (Question about audio conversion software)

I'm currently digitalizing CDs with Exact Audio Copy. Per default, it allows you to create either uncompressed or compressed files, which is wav for the former and flac (lossless) or mp3 (lossy) for the latter.

I know there's some way to convert to multiple formats in one go with EAC, but that's not too important, I already have FreAC to get a HQ conversion from flac, wav or opus to mp3.

Ideally, I want every song as both a 320kbps mp3 for devices with limited storage and compatibility, but also the flac file for devices which can play them. I don't care about the uncompressed wav files.

So, in a nutshell, is there any difference in the result between letting that LAME encoder in FreAC convert flac or wav files?

Cause if it's the same I don't need to create the wav files in the first place, I can just rip as flac and then convert to mp3. In theory all the audio information of a wav should still exist in a flac, but not sure if there are no weird exception for conversions.

Is there a way to make a second keyboard indipendent from a the main one?

I will explain myself better on what i want to do, keep in mind i cant program anything honestly so please if you can keep your answers as simple as you can.

I need a second keyboard to make different input than the first one, lets say you are playing COD (just an example) What i need is to have the first keyboard W command to be linked to "walk forward" and the W command on the second keyboard to be linked to anything else like "shoot" or "slide", is there a way to make this happens?

Hello,

Powershell keeps popping up when I use Revo Uninstaller. Is that something I should be worried about? I know Powershell can open you up to a bunch of nonsense.

Thank you for any opinion on the matter

App cannot run because api-ms-win-core-debug-minidump-l1-1-0.dll is not on laptop

I have a 32 bit .exe program that requires the dll file I mentioned in the title to run but I don't have it and don't know how to get it. I also searched the internet but I only found the version without minidump.

I am using Windows 8.1 core 32bit.

The program is a driver to have wifi on my laptop from a wifi dongle I bought.

Where is HWiNFO Gpu Memory Error line?

TL;DR: Looking for errors in my rx6600, CSV doesn't have GPU Memory Error line

Context: I'm currently facing issues with my PC, and I'm trying to ascertain the source of it. Performance on games that used to run very well has tanked, and it has randomly shutdown and rebooted on me twice. I suspect the GPU is the problem since this has happened to me before with my rx570.

I'm using HWiNFO for logging while I play, like I used to with my old rx570. But it doesn't produce the GPU Memory Error line in the CSV that used to be appear when I logged for my old card. Is this no longer in HWiNFO?

Why did a weird email completely disappear?

I'm confused.

I received a weird email.... the subject was in Chinese and there were 5 photo attachments. The pictures looked like family photos, two were of an old woman sitting at a table, another was a picture of a photo album page with multiple family photos in it. Usually I don't think much of spam emails or random texts, I just don't answer.

The weird thing was that the email wasn't even addressed to MY email address. It was addressed to a different email. The weirder thing is that the email it was addressed to was a variation of a second gmail account that I have, but it wasn't sent to that address either. My second email address looks like this: fourwordbandname@gmail.com The address that the weird email was sent to looked like this: four.word.band.name. And thats it. No @ sign or anything. And thats my second email account... which isn't linked to the inbox that I received it in. They are two separate email addresses associated with two separate google accounts. And it wasn't addressed to either email address, but obviously there is some connection there, because it was addressed to a variation of the address name that couldn't possibly be a coincidence.

Weirder, the email completely disappeared when I exited out of it. It's not in any of the folders. It's gone.

What happened?

How to find freelance clients?

Hello, I'm currently in highschool (so I'm not pressured by time to get clients), and would like some experience outside of my comfort zone so I decided I'd try freelance. Problem is, I have no idea how to find clients. I think I'm at a point where I can solve a problem given the effort and research (as in, I just don't get stuck at brick walls helplessly anymore). So does anybody know where I can find both consumer facing and business facing freelance clients? I think it's gonna be a great benefit to my software career and my knowledge/skill in programming in general, plus I think it's gonna be really fun. Thanks in advance guys!

P.S If you have any other advice for freelancing in general I'd really appreciate anything.

React Native: Background Image in ImageBackground Not Filling Entire Screen

I'm working on a React Native app and trying to make a background image cover the entire screen without leaving any space at the top or bottom. I used ImageBackground with resizeMode="cover" and set flex: 1 for both the SafeAreaView and ImageBackground, but the image still doesn’t fill the whole space.

Here's what I've tried so far:

Set flex: 1 in both SafeAreaView and the ImageBackground. Used width: '100%' and height: '100%' for the image style. Set resizeMode="cover" on the ImageBackground. Despite these adjustments, there's still some space that the image doesn’t cover. I'd appreciate any suggestions for getting the background image to cover the full screen.

Selectable tasks or requirements from large group of standard tasks

My apologies if I'm in the wrong place. I am looking for any insight on an exisisting tool that would allow me to create a complete list of tasks and sub tasks from a standard "pool" of total tasks. Example: I manage projects and they all are slightly different. So if I want to create a outline or "checklist" for a specific project I could go to a large pool of tasks and select them and add them to the outline document.

Stream (only) audio from one PC to another

tl;dr: I would like something like Any/RustDesk, but only for audio.

Already tried VoiceMeeter and swyh-rs", but due to some reasons, it doesn't work properly.

I have a notebook and a PC on my desk. I use the PC for work and the notebook for streaming something to watch/listen to.

But the speaker of the notebook is not good, so I plugged in it an old headset that don't work anymore and turned on Rustdesk to stream audio from notebook to the PC.

But Rustdesk, although it works very well, also streams video (unnecessary for me) and over time causes a certain delay.

I would like to know if there is any software that does basically the same thing, but only streams audio.
