From what I’ve been told this is a soft launch to get prepared for more one piece axe bats for next year
Hey guys, I’m fairly new to slow pitch (all softball, really) - I’ve gotten to a somewhat consistent place with my batting over the summer, but I’ve noticed I tend to hit pop ups more when the pitcher uses that overhand grip and uses backspin. I think that’s his goal, but is there anything you guys do to cut down on pop ups in this situation? Or in general?
Thank you
Hey I’m a rookie (lefthanded batter) at slowpitch softball. I get these pitches that look good to me , but when I swing it turns out the pitch was too inside and I jam myself and hit a weak pop up to the pitcher or a week grounder to first base . I went to a batting cage and I started tomahawking the inside pitch cause it was the only way I could think of to get the barrel out in front of my hands and not jam myself. Is this the right approach or am I more likely swinging at a pitch I should not be swinging at? Other people tell me swing earlier but to me it feels like I cannot swing earlier without literally starting my swing before I know where the pitch is going. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Will there be a big difference between a 12.75” hoh pro601 trapeze and a hoh 13” slowpitch h web model for outfield? Or will I need to go 13.5”-14” to notice a difference?
I’m looking at getting a new bat in 2025 for my ASA/USA league. I currently have a 2022 25oz one piece Monsta and a 2020 28oz two piece Miken Freak Primo. Both bats are ridiculously hot. But what is the true difference between one and two piece bats besides the look?
I just bought the 2024 Easton two-piece tantrum in the last few months and I have probably taken a little over a hundred swings on it(maybe not even). The bat is showing signs of spiderwebbing. Is this good or bad? I have heard that spiderwebbing means the composite is getting hotter, but should it happen this early or is it a sign my bat is breaking already? Again, is spiderwebbing a good sign or am I crazy?
I use a miken dc for my rec leagues, I was told that I can tell them it failed compression or even tell them it's damaged and get a new bat. It is under a year old and very used. Has anyone ever tried to get a miken replaced? Did you have to send in the bat or did they just take the info and send a new one?
Also I bought it from Amazon not sure if that matters.
How and where do ppl find others for pick up batting practices?
I live in the greater Sacramento area.
I need to re-tape my flared axe bat and was wondering if the pyramid grip tape would work for it. Just looking at it, I don’t think it would, but would love some opinions
Anyone who has been following the MLB will know that Shohei Ohtani is the god of baseball. He has gotten 20 RBIs in his last 8 games.
I'm in charge of my team's lineup, and I'm seriously considering putting our strongest hitter first in the batting order. He typically hits cleanup, but I've noticed the bottom of our order struggling to get in. I guess the idea is that our big man can clean up all the runners from the bottom, while our 2/3/4 hitters can continue moving everyone forward. Just like Ohtani does.
It's not conventional strategy, but it ensures our best hitter gets the most at-bats. What does everyone else think?
I’ll be playing my first “big” Tournament next week (Whole Enchilada). My usual gear is shin guards and Hellcat Helmet. I’ll be wearing a cup for the tournament. SO since I feel like we’ll be playing higher caliber guys that hit harder do any of y’all wear like a padded shirt for a little extra protection? Or will that just restrict movement too much? Playing E.
Just started playing Adult Softball Slow pitch. Female 26 years old. I played my whole life, high-school, college(just a small college team) & travel. I used to could hit it out a couple years ago and was a top of the line player at fast pitch. Now when I got to play with this new team i’m reaching for the ball so bad and barely make it out of the infield. What is some bating drills I can do to help?
I have my first tournament next weekend and really don’t want to embarrass my self. My husband bought a Miken freak bat 26oz but it honestly feels heavy to me.. I’ve been watching some tiktok and youtube videos for tips but would like to hear from anyone that could give me good advice. I seriously need to work on my hitting I am barely hitting the ball at all, it’s embarrassing.
We are playing against really good teams in my county, they recruited me thinking I could help but I just can’t get it together I don’t know why?
Also lighter female bat recommendations 🫶🏻
Anyone have any experience with using spray adhesive with vuk grip tape? Just curious if it screws up the grip or it's worth it
I know monsta is known for having great asa/USA bats but I know the m2 tech is a great but what about this Mx is it worth the buy ?
Let’s hear it we all know monsta is great but let’s pretend there’s no monsta what are you swinging?
I usually play slow pitch softball in cleats, but I am thinking about making the switch to turf shoes because they look more comfortable. They would primarily be used on grass and all dirt in-fields, and rarely on artificial turf. I’ve been looking at the Boombah brand.
Does anyone have reviews of turf shoes versus cleats?
Couple rounds of BP in and I’m hitting the ball 30ft further with the Easton Tantrum. Using 52/275 balls. What’s your thoughts?
A couple guys decided to join a different team last season to help out another buddy. It wasn’t stated but was assumed it was for at least a couple seasons. All good, we filled in those spots with new people.
Everybody from current team wants to come back as well as those 2 other guys. But we are already maxed out from current players.
My philosophy is whoever is on the current roster of the most recent season gets first dibs on roster spots. But some of the players are giving me vibes that they want these 2 guys back; while others are agreeing with me.
What do yall do?
Hey all,
Im 5"9, 155 lbs. I use a 27oz Everett Williams end loaded Louisville Slugger 12inch barrel. In batting practice I can hit just over 300 or so when I pull it, and sometimes even in center too. We use 52/300 COR in Canada.
Is that good for my size? Can I hit it further? I know I am a smaller guy, but hitting just over 300 is just not acceptable for me lol. I want to get to 350 consistently.
Also to note, this is only my second year playing basically, so I am still working on my mechanics since they could be much better.
What should I be doing? Any tips? Please dont say "hit the gym" lol, but if you do, please specify what exercises I should be doing to get further hits.
Thank you for reading and replying :)
**** EDIT ****
Forgot to say that I am in Canada, and we only have Hot Dots (52/300COR)
Just started playing about 3 seasons ago and use whatever bat is available. I play in two leagues, one that only always single wall bats. Not looking to spend a ton of money but looking at getting the Easton Rebel for the single wall league and either hell cat or Dunn deal for the other. I'm also more of a single/double type hitter so not sure if the bat even matters that much. Just looking for opinions, thanks
Got a brand new Easton 13 inch pro series glove for infield. Usually play 3rd or short. A little stiff so need to do some breaking in. Do you guys try and mold it to close thumb to pinky? I have recently gone to two on the pinky and figured that helps deepen the pocket, which is our goal I guess when you are trying to catch a 12 inch ball. Any info helps, thanks!
