What’s a good fairly cheap skate shoe??
What’s a good cheap skate shoe???
Can someone give me front side tips
Ive been skating for 2 years and i do know how to ollie and shuv it but any other trick i try to attempt i cant push myself to land any other trick. After i flick for a kickflip i stomp my back foot down and ive been doing this continuosly since ive started skating and im not sure how to get out of that habit after doing it for so long. Ollies and shuvs i learned within a year and ive been stuck since
help
Should I get these or they ain’t worth it ?
I keep sliding my front foot too much and land on my nose. Can someone help fix this
I've been trying to learn tre flips for like 4 months now and still can't land one. I can do kickflips constantly, shuvs in all the stances. I can also heelflip, varial kickflip, and I've landed a couple dolphin flips before. Everytime i try to tre the board just flies in front of me. The closest ive gotten is landing it with one foot. Anything that could help? I think im kinda scared of landing it with my back foot because i keep putting it down, i think thats like the main issue when get the scoop and the flip correctly.
So im coming up on a year skating and been trying my best to catch up on the history off the industry.
Lately been real interested in the history of the shoe market. I been watching this guy on youtube "golden era collector" and it amazes me how much cooler [imo] shoes wear back then. Shoes like cab vans, stevie wiliams dc's, old lakais, some duffs models, its prolly so much i dont even know about yet. Clearly i have a cup over vulc preference. Are vulc better for performance? I could see that bring the case as i learn more tricks.
It had me thinking about what happened? Was it nike? Did skaters gatekeep the brands? [I know some gatekeeping is nesscary but i think "posers" are good for the industry, it seems to be the way corp brand are able to pay thier skaters more -- they have skaters and non skaters buying thier shoes + all the other segments [nike, adidas, and new balance have a hand in almost every sport.
I know the sneaker market is slow right now but its crazy how much nike sb's dunks are apart of sneaker culture, why couldnt it have been those brands? D3 orisis is hot right now, vans are always kinda worn by non skaters.
Was nike just that much better[ i guess now new balnce, saucony, asicis, etc]? I like the look of the dunk and they look skateable but most of there other shoes are not that cool to me [and other skaters? maybe ishods and blazers?] I heard nike makes shops stock up on all thier releases even if people just want dunks? is that true?
Thats is the other thing i noticed, I have been to 4 skate shops since i started skated and the walls are just covered with nikes, new balance, and maybe lakai or vans i really can't remember. I really am not interested in most shoes in the core shops for various reasons such as look, function, comfort [so many narrow shoes] politics. I have bought all shoes online [es and circa] im thinking about going to zumiez cause they might have something i might wanna skate [dc, dvs, ethnies, something idk] should i even do that? should zumiez have a skate team?
How did the shops get all the corp brands and zumiez stock all the morecore brands? Really not sure whats core because i will say i see alot of new balance and nikes in my area worn by skaters. Is that just what the people want? Is that the new core?
Anyway just some thoughts. Looking for some education on this topic. Not judging anybody else for thier decisions just trying to be more informed and make better decisions for myself. Its really difficult to find information about this, all the youtube videos about shoes seems sponsored, slap is helpful sometimes. Anyways thanks to anyone who may read/respond to this
Hi, I'm an 18 year old uni student from the UK trying to get into skateboarding after thinking about it for a while. My main issue is I am a beginner looking for a board that can support my weight. I used to do rugby and I'm decently tall. Does anyone have any recommendations? All help is welcome but preferable something that doesn't break the bank!
any advice?
I've just bought a house that has a gravel garden, I want to get a little 2' mini but I also want to be able to move it and store it away.
I know people who can help me make decent quarters but obviously it needs a flat bottom, is there any way to build something like this that's portable?
I was thinking maybe a roll of pvc flooring that could just be rolled out underneath it? I don't know if that would work at all.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
hello everyone im a beginner but the fear of breakinng a bone scares the fuck out of me cause ive never broken anything. i wanna get into this sport but im scared i dont mind bruises or cuts but anything else is terrifying to me any tips?
I’m 30 year old dude who works as a full time fire fighter paramedic. So my schedule is a bit hectic. I also have shared parenting with my ex wife and a life that’s busy with the life my now girlfriend and I are building together. I did a little skating from the ages of like 14-18. Not much, my dad would always take my skateboard from me and “ground” me from it. I joined the navy right out of HS and did my 4 years and got out. During that time I did a little skating or trying to keep up with it but it was to no avail. Get out and life comes at you fast. Now I’m at a point where I’d like to get into the sport again, maybe pick a magazine subscription, keep up to date with some of the videos, and maybe do a small amount of skating on my own. I’m not sure if anyone is in a similar position or could direct me where to start up again. Where to keep up on videos/movies since DVDs aren’t much of a thing anymore. I appreciate everyone’s advice
I've just bought my first house and obviously the first thing that came into my mind was 'where is the mini ramp going?'
I don't want to take up the whole garden so how small could you make a mini ramp that's actually fun to skate? I don't care if it's pretty tiny, as long as it's actually worth having and I can learn new stuff and get back some old stuff.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Asking for a YT video where I test some out ;)

Mods, can we get this stickied to the front page, please?
i was told not to act like you’re stomping the tail, i’m just lifting my front leg which tilts the board and while you do that jump. but the tail isn’t bouncing high, so am i supposed to jump just really hard? fast? or do i go back and try to slam the tail again.
I'm on the larger side and want to know a good board size that's not a long board, have asked a couple friends who do skate and they recommended a 8-8.5 board with Cruiser wheels. Would it be a good sized starting board?
I would begin to skate, so what do I need like wheel for start tricks hard wheels or soft wheels ? Thanks
I want to buy my husband a skateboard. He’s talked about wanting to start, he’s never skated before. He’s 6’2, about 200lbs and wears size 12 shoes. What size board should I get him?
I'm popping the tail then trynna drag the board with my other foot and usually when I do that the board follows my front foot which stays glued in the same position the whole time and leaves my back foot on the ground without the board being lifted or it slides to the nose but doesn't pull the skateboard up. What could I be doing wrong?
Thanks
Ive been skating nike sb alleyoops but i want something new to try.
I like both decks but I honestly have only skated a powell.
It would be great if someone could give me a pros and cons of each board 🤙
I never got into the skateboarding scene, but I’m very much in the “Christmas giving tree” scene.
This year one of the names I grabbed wants a skateboard (along with some gym/exercise stuff) I try to keep each kid to a $100 budget. I saw an Element (which is a name I recognize from my Tony Hawk days) skateboard for sale for under $50 recently. Is Element still considered a cool brand or would the poor guy get picked on?
All I know is it’s a 16 year old male, I have no clue about their skill or interest level.
These are off my first board, which was given to me at a skatepark in michigan. Anybody know what they are? I thought itd be cool to build another board thats the exact same, just new. (For reference, the board from my guess is over 6-7 years old if that helps.)
https://amzn.eu/d/775GKGK I live in Turkey and the economy is pretty bad. I found these bearings. They were the cheapest thing i found when i searched in google. I think i could find like one for 1,5 dollars at some local hardware store but i want to know are these types of bearings good for skateboarding? Honestly if they are i will just clean the old bearings in my skateboard and just get 3 bearings.
