Wanted to know if you can transfer from MS CMPE to MS CS majors? What is the criteria for it? is it even possible?
So 20 minutes ago when I walked past cvc someone decided to throw a full cup of water out of the window on me, I’m sure they’re not on reddit but what the hell is wrong some of these people on campus. How miserable do you have to be? Apparently this isn’t the first time it has happened according to the officer I reported it to. fucking loser I hope I find out who you are
Hiii I left a wooden desk out on the curb on S 4th St (the other cross street is E William) and I'm just now realizing I left my tower card inside. I'm hoping someone in this subreddit took the desk and has my card 😭
I previously attended SJSU as an Electrical Engineering major but stopped attending in 2022 and my GPA at the time wasn't too great. I will now be going back to attending SJSU as an Information Science and Data Analytics major at SJSU Online starting in Spring 2025. Because of the time spent away from school, I had to reapply to SJSU. Once I start attending in Spring 2025, is my previous GPA still relevant or am I starting over fresh?
Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to sell back your textbooks to the campus store this semester. My textbooks are completely untouched due to my professor never having us use them. I am wondering if I can get at least a small amount of money back for them due to how expensive they were.
are there any other microwaves on campus other than the one in the student union?
I know it sounds like a meme but my women’s Reebok Club C Double Revenge shoes were stolen today from the women’s locker room at the SRAC within a 20 minute timeframe while I was showering. Please be careful with your stuff in the locker room, can’t trust anybody. Ruined my day. Who tf steals used gym shoes???
Hi guys, I’m wondering if anyone has taken Amin for ISE130 and if she curves at all. She says that she doesn’t but a classmate said his friend told him that she curved the final grade. If anyone knows please let me know! Thank you :)
Hello everyone, any advice on this?
Basically, I started at sjsu fall 23 as a transfer student majoring in Child Development because I thought that I wanted to pursue teaching. I also moved out of home because of personal issues. So I had to support myself financially. I worked a part time job at a cafe and I also took a teacher assistant job at a day care. In the middle of the semester though, I felt a sense of disinterest and lack of passion in what I was studying. The teacher assistant job also gave me a bit of insight as to what the lifestyle could be in the future which felt like it didn’t truly align with what I wanted for my future. At this point, I felt lost because I had already invested my money for the semester and I’m half way through my degree. I thought I was burnt out realy but really it just truly felt like it was just not for me. So I filed for withdrawal in the middle of fall 23 which I recently just learned never got processed.
Still figuring it out what I needed to do at that time, I thought of going back into science specifically biotech because I had enjoyed it back in High school. So i joined a Biotech program at CC the start of January of this year where I found my true interest and learned where I gravitated the most academically. I recently just finished the program and now that I’m certain of what I want to study, I’m debating if I should continue at sjsu as a bio major or start over at cc as a bio to transfer.
The problem is, because the withdrawal never got processed, I failed all my classes the fall of 23. So now I’m on academic notice at SJ which makes this a lot more complicated. Any advice or suggestions would really help!
Hey, My group is doing a survey on the impact of social media on college students and would love if you guys can take some time out of your days to complete it.

I am applying for my undergraduate studies at SJSU. I am a California resident however I have completed all 4 years of highschool internationally in India.
My school followed the IGCSE curriculum for grade 9 & 10 and the International Baccalaureate program for grades 11 & 12. For the IB program my final grades come out on 17th December and currently I only have my predicted grades.
My school doesn't give students GPA, nor does it give students standings. How am I supposed to answer the question asking my GPA or Standing in the academic information section on the Calstate portal? Also can I possibly report my IGCSE grades or IB predicted grades?
Looking to give out some free boba and collect survey responses -- wondering where is the best place to set up.
Just a quick stupid question but a technically passing grade for calc 1/math 30 would be a C- right? Based on the images
should i be concerned?? i emailed the uhs front desk and they said i could find my roommate info through the "room info" button but i can't find it. also, i received my housing assignment through my other email but not on my.sjsu's inbox. said assignment isn't visible on my housing portal's homepage but my application status says "assigned" 😭
if you're transferring next semester, do you have a similar situation rn or nah? if not, how did you figure it out? i'd appreciate the help 🥲
I'm trying to play as I just got home from college and wanted to see if anyone knew!
i recently applied to the aviation program at sjsu and i’m wondering what my chances are of getting in. i have a csu gpa of 4.0, i feel my extracurriculars are alright as well and i also know that there is an impacting index which im not quite sure what that is.
I recently got admitted to San Jose State as a spring 2025 transfer into the software engineering major. My question is, is it posssible major in computer science as well because my intention is that, once I have both declared(double major), I would like to drop the SWE major and continue my studies at SJSU as an undergrad CS major. Is it possible to do that upon transferring?
I've never been to the US so I don't know the situation there. I just hear how difficult it is for international students to get jobs right now and get visa sponsorship. But then I also hear people doing fine. What are the chances of getting a job for older international student with 2-3 years of software development (not FAANG) experience abroad? What should people prepare in advance to improve their chances. Is it risky/worth it to come here, or better to come later with more experience. Should you be really good at leetcode/etc or something else? What do people not expect when they come here?
Wondering how the process was because this program is advanced generalist
i’m trying to get my cat registered as an esa so i was wondering if anyone knew more about the process. i’m aware i need a note from a therapist but i don’t really have access to a licensed professional so would it count if i used the therapy provided by sjsu? one of my friends said it could be an option but another one said it might not count. any information helps
Can i take math 31 if i have a B- in math 30. Bc the website said that i need a B or higher.
Finished my 2 years at juco will be transferring fall 25 political science.. what’s the vibe like? How much is housing over all is their program good? Could somebody give me the or all the facts either or a insider look before I make this big decision? Thanks coming frm sac btw
Was there school on Wednesday, the day before thanksgiving? Asking because i might’ve missed a test a want to bring it to my Professor attention before class start Monday but i genuinely cannot find out if there was class and im freaking out. I didn’t go because why tf would there be class day before thanksgiving?? Like i travel for the holidays!!! That’s kinda unfair😕
Hi everyone,
I’m planning to apply for the MS in Computer Science program at San José State University (SJSU), and I’d love to hear your thoughts on my profile and chances of admission. Here’s a quick rundown: • Undergrad: Bachelor’s in Computer Science from a third tier college in India • CGPA: 7.2/10 • GRE: 320 • TOEFL: 100 • Research: Published 4 research papers (in computer science-related domains). • Internships: Completed 2 internships in software development and machine learning. • Projects: 3-4 academic/independent projects, including work in data science and AI.
I know SJSU is quite competitive, especially for MSCS, but I’m hoping my research papers, internships, and GRE score make up for my slightly lower CGPA.
Do you think I have a good shot at getting in? If not, any advice on improving my chances or other similar programs I should consider would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone. I am so sorry for this post probably get these a lot. I applied to transfer to electrical engineering with a 3.7 gpa from cc. However I went to another college before cc and I think I remember I was told the gpa would be an average of the two when transferring. So after the average my total gpa would be a 3.3.
I was wondering if a 3.3 would be good enough to get electrical engineering or would they assign me my alt major instead? Thanks
On the website it says for Spring 2025 the deadline is December 1st. But then for Fall 2025 the deadline is April 1st.
Does this mean that if you apply by December 1st, you get a decision back in the spring, and if you apply by April 1st it’s fall? I’m a lil confused
