Hello! I was wondering if anyone here is a part of the Communicative Disorders & Sciences degree and could tell me what the schedules look like? I plan to switch into the major for Fall 2025 and I know certain classes are only provided certain semesters/are in cohorts so I was wondering what the times of classes might look like for future job planning?

Hi guys Im an international freshman joining SJSU in Spring 2025. I wanted to ask what the on campus job situation is like and how early should I start applying? I wanted to apply through handshake initially but on the SJSU website it said that new students have to wait for 1 week after enrolling in classes. I was hoping to apply a little early and get a head start so all the jobs dont fill up but it looks like Ill have to wait and take my chances. Is there any other way I can secure a job before spring classes start as to get a head start or will I just have to wait until Ive enrolled?

Hey everyone! Has anyone here been accepted to the SJSU MSDA Special Session program without a computer science background? I’m curious if they’ve been flexible with non-CS majors. My bachelor's background is in Marketing. I've taken Statistics, and meet all the program requirements, excluding the programming prerequisite and my GPA is 3.22/4.00.

Also, has anyone received their results for Spring 2025 yet? I'm still waiting to hear back and hoping for some updates. Thanks!

I have applied to MS SE program spring 25 and it's been 5 weeks I contacted the official but the only response I got was my application is still under consideration. Today is November 2nd I have been waiting for admit and if I don't get in I have to go with other university but now I am losing patience when will they roll out admits I have to work on visa and loan stuff too.

Hey! I live in a 4 Bedroom single and was thinking about getting a cat and registering it as a service animal, I was wondering if anyone’s done it before and if it’s livable for a cat?

I'm interested in both. I feel like I'm leaning more towards Data Science bc the topic is more interesting especially with AI, neural networks, machine learning, finding insights from data and trends, etc.

I also know the Software Engineering B.S. would likely have better job prospects and my main goal is to get into the industry sooner than later. I think I'd have the option to take some DS classes or specialize in DS later on. Also I think SE would give me more options for different career paths. Same with the CS major but I've heard the CS major is very impacted.

The field of Data Science is growing rapidly and is in demand - but I've heard you need a Masters degree for Data Science and it will be hard to find a job with just a B.S in data science.

Do sjsu take senior grade to calculate gpa for admission? Or they only take senior grade for a-g?

Hi everyone. I am a parent of a HS senior who is interested in applying to SJSU. My wife and I were able to do a self-guided tour a few months ago and thought the campus was beautiful. We did walk around on a Saturday and noticed only a few activities on campus. I did read that SJSU is commuter campus but any insights on Student Life with non-CA residents on the weekends will be very much appreciated. He will more than likely not have a car and if accepted, plans on joining the SJSU Club Tennis. We are also from Oʻahu so any leads on a Hawaiʻi Club would be great! Thanks in advance!

y'all i'm applying for the msw program for fall and the only thing i'm overthinking is the length of the personal statement. Usually personal statements range from 500-1000 but this program gives you a maximum of 3000 words.

I’m planning to transfer to SJSU for fall 25 from CC, I want to go into Accounting. Anyone know if it’s hard to get in? I know it’s an impacted concentration, but how impacted is it? I have a 3.92 gpa as of right now but currently taking a bit harder classes that may bring me down to a 3.8 gpa.

My counselor told me its a strong GPA but still emphasizing on the fact that accounting is impacted. Any thoughts?
