Looking for a music video I believe Maki Nomiya was in. It was an older male singer, her, and a younger rapper guy. They were being pulled on a rickshaw. Does anyone remember this song Japan from the 90s?
Does anyone have a download link for this album?
does anyone know of any old japanese magazines that featured shibuya kei artists? or a japanese music magazine that did a special shibuya kei issue?
Strong Neo-Shibuya-kei vibes with this one. She just released an EP called "New Shibuya" two days ago tho, featuring both this song and a guest appearance by the Queen of Shibuya-kei herself, Maki Nomiya, so that's to be expected. If you like this, you should check out the -other- EP she recently released, "New Wave". They're both on Spotify and both are wonderful.
Made a YouTube channel to start posting playlists to expose people to new music thought I'd post my Shibuya-Kei Mix here for anyone interested, Enjoy!
This is the only song I can't find from cymbals catalog and the only way I would be able to hear it is if I get the CD for mr noones special as it is a extra song only on the CD If anyone has the song please let me know we're I can listen to it I love cymbals
Trying to form a playlist of korean shibuya kei or adjacent artists. ones that i've found so far are Aquibird, Hourmelts, HUS, espionne, peppertones, yozoh. anything more on the electronica side of the spectrum is preferred!
I think I found the song on YouTube once and the only description I can really give is whispering vocals that repeat 幸せ. Hopefully this leads to it
i haven't seen much Yukari Fresh shared on here so i thought i'd make a list of what i've found so far, both for myself to go back to and for others! 🫧
if anyone has anything to add please do share!
i’ve been getting into the genre for about a year now. i know there are technical characteristics that make something shibuya-kei but i also realize how much of it is a very particular vibe~~ which is find incredible. i love discovering music and sort of breaking it down to understand why i like it so much, and for shibuyakei i kept finding a strong french and italian influence, like HUGE, i don’t know if any of you also have noticed this or if it’s painfully obvious but i was wondering if you saw it as well and why that may be. i’ll link my spotify playlist where i put in order on the first songs to showcase what i mean
Hard to find gem in a harder to harder to know band

So I'm way undereducated in this genre of music and I'd love to hear your 'must hear once in a life time' song suggestions :D Thanks
