This is a community for makers and buyers of custom sheaths and holsters. Made from kydex or leather; by redditors, for redditors.
If you're on Instagram make sure to use #sheathsandholsters to connect with the rest of us!
This is a friendly subreddit for a multitude of things:
1) This is a place for custom makers to show off their new and finished sheaths/ holsters of either kydex, leather, wood, metal, you name it. If it holds or carries something while protecting it, we'll accept it.
2) This is a place for people to learn new techniques with making sheaths and holsters, so please be helpful and kind to newcomers!
3) This is a place for buyers who are trying to find a friendly maker to commission some work with. So please help any user in need of finding what they want and be fair. In terms of price and time. For the potential buyer, just be aware that some makers get backlogged unfortunately so it may take some time. Please be patient.
4) This is also a place for people to post pictures of sheaths and holsters they've found online and thought it was special or nice enough to share with us. Again, if it holds/ carries something while protecting it we'll accept it. Post your Pen Sheaths, Card Holsters, Tactical Altoid Can Carrier, lay it on us! Feel free to post special sales or deals (subject to change) or any pictures of custom sheaths and holsters that are found, say in a BLADE magazine, to discuss over. But please try to credit the original maker of the work by telling us the username or company of who made the item.
5) This is a place for people who love guns, knives, and EDC related tools above all. Which means there will be a lot of different styles of tools/ weapons/ accessories. Everyone has their own right to carry what they feel comfortable with and most importantly whatever they enjoy carrying. That being said there will be NO badmouthing of anyone's choice to carry something. NO discrediting of any items by saying they are useless, dumb, etc. There WILL be, however, kind discussion about quality and craftsmanship. There WILL be helpful advise as to where you can obtain a quality tool/ weapon/ EDC item.
Simply put: there will be no comments like "oh that knife is useless for EDC, there are so many better options" or one's like "that gun is stupid, why carry that caliber" etc etc. The only comments I want to see regarding other people's choice to carry things is constructive criticism like "Hey, just so you know brand x isn't very reliable... so just incase you plan on using it hard... you might want to look in to better options". See what I'm getting at? Try to focus on the custom work more so than what's being carried.
