not the leader who guides all the group
I attended RedRose24 this year and I can confidently say it was one of the best scouting experiences I've had. I'd love to hear other peoples' encounters! <3

Hi All, hopefully this post is allowed here! I have been a GirlGuiding leader for a few years now in the UK, and as of late have been interested in moving over to Scouts as I think it just suits me more & have also heard from former Guide Leaders that they enjoy being in Scouts more, and have more fun. So my question is , what differences could I expect between the two organisations , if any, and is there anything I may not have considered or thought about that I should know about volunteering with Scouts? TIA
I'm working on my Eagle Project where I am creating an Outdoor Learning Space at my local middle school. Does anyone know where I can find specific blueprints/instructions for an outdoor whiteboard?
After the hate comments we saw last night I had to bleach my eyes a few times, maybe it's time to lighten the mood and tension.
Not for hikes of course but just lounging around camp - and not around the campfire either! They shrink when too hot!
I attended the central european jamboree in slovakia this year and saw some swedish folks having this badge and I thought it was really pretty and wanted it for my small collection of patches. does anyone know what is it for/ where could I get it?
thanks.
Hello, we are a troop from the Czech Republic, and we came up with an project idea. Making a summer camp abroad is expensive, and we were looking for a cheaper alternative, having an idea of making a summer camp together with a troop from a foreign country. We would most likely be looking for a troop from the central/southern europe, not too far away.
Our idea is following: We would join with a foreign troop on a camping spot in their country, make the programme together and enjoy one or two weeks sharing our differences and similarities as scouts.
This post is for gathering info, if you would interested in such project, please do contact us bellow in the comments or in DMs.
Take care!
Next year I'm traveling from Berlin, through Leipzig, Germany ultimately to Prague, Czechia. I'd like to buy some cool badges while I'm in those countries.
Are there scout shops around there, like there are in the US?
Can anyone please help me? I want to make a traitor game for our scouts. But my mind is blank. I made a plan but I just can't come up with any missions. Anyone have some fun ideas?
Hey guys, I'm a brazilian Explore and I realy wanna to conque my scouting language specialty level 3. If you are a Explore that can take to me I would be very grateful. Be prepared⚜️
Every year for my troop and sister scout troop I try to do a family feud, in order to make it I try to ask 100 real scouts some questions though, this one is Christmas themed and if you guys are able to fill out this form I made it would help a lot as I need 100 responses, all questions are optional! https://forms.gle/H36VipaiU2ACa9LV7
I will also be making my scouting themed family feud from last year public within the hour as I finish it up and make it easier to use for other troops
Hi, I'm wanting to start helping out with the Scouts in the UK. I've helped out in a few countries (ENF in france and UEB in Brazil) where the focus was very much on the outdoors, camping and pioneering. I did a bit of scouts with the Scouts UK but it was very much indoor focused.
Anyone got any advice for types of groups? Had a look and BPSA looked like it might be the best bet, but thought I'd ask here.
There's this "Cub of the Month" Woggle available on the Scout Store and I'm wondering how do CSLs that do use it, use it.
I'll take any insight and experience!
Hey everyone, so after asking for ideas on how to put the request forward to parents ive come up woth the following letter, how does this sound to you all.
im open to critique on making it sound better.
(Edit: to add Suggestions)
"Dear Parents and Carers
As you may be aware to safely run activities we need to have a number of adults to Beavers. The Scout Association recommends a minimum of, 1 adult to 6 Beavers, for activities and sessions to run safely.
The Beaver section team currently consists of only myself, our Group Lead Volunteer **** lends a hand in addition to his duties in running the administration of the entire Scout group and overseeing all its sections and section volunteer teams.
This leaves us in the situation that should either of us be unable to attend, the meeting will not be able to run. The future of Anytown Beavers relies on volunteers and the nature of a charity means we are always looking for more help, without your involvement we can not run the meetings. In light of this, I feel it is necessary to ask someone to step in each week to help out and ensure we can continue to run the Beaver section and provide your young people with skills for life. From January I will be setting up an "Adult Rota" for parents and carers to choose which session(s) they want to help out on, We will be asking for a minimum of one per term.
You will not need to prepare or run any activities or undertake any training ( although you certainly can if you wish), you would be there as an extra set of adult eyes to supervise the Beavers during the activity, and you will have the full support of myself and **** to help you in any way you need.
Any adults connected to the group (such as parents and carers, aunts, uncles, older siblings or grandparents) can sign up to help with the occasional session, so long as they are over 18 years of age.
You will not need to under go a DBS check unless you wish to volunteer more than three times in a 30 day period.
If you have any questions, queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me or **** about them my contact details are below.
I understand this will be a bit of a shake up to the current status quo and i am extremly grateful for the help and support you all already give, and i apprieciate everyones support in helping to keep the Beaver section running in the future."
What do people think does that sound about right?
Thanks in advance

I've been a leader for near 3 years and may be moving from beavers to cubs. During that time I've worked with some amazing people and id like to get them something scouty as a gift.

Hey zusammen,
Danke!
Ich wünsche ein sonniges Wanderwochenende!
LG Sofia
Question, so just making sure I have all the kit I need for rememberance, you know smart navy trousers. Blue tie.
Went online to check how people deal with tie and necker, and woggle ect.
Can't find a single picture of a leader at a rememberance parade in a tie? Do people just not wear them anymore? PoR still mentions them?
So along sode that now. I'm thinking, stone shirt line sleeve and navy trousers and navy tie with gillwell woggle. With my necker tied in a friendship knot over that.
