Hello everyone,
I’ve been searching for a puppy in the Netherlands for over two years now. I’m originally from Brazil, and before moving to Europe five years ago, I lost my beloved Scottish Terrier. After a long time, I finally feel ready to welcome a new pup into my life, but finding one has been much harder than I expected.
I’ve reached out to breeders in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, but haven’t had much luck. Most responses have been brief, and none have led to anything concrete. I’m more than willing to travel—Benelux and Germany would be easiest for me.
Any advice, recommendations, or help in finding a reputable breeder or available puppy would be so appreciated. This search has been exhausting, and I’m really hoping to find my new companion soon.
Thank you!
This little dude just came home last week and it has been a whirlwind to say the least. I remember reading someone describing Scottish Terriers as having ears for decoration only and it’s oh so true. Been a lot of fun but holy cow is potty training this difficult by default?!
I love the little guy, makes me laugh constantly.
Our new baby Finnegan. He's from the same lineage as our sweet Duncan that passed in October. After Duncan passed we contacted his breeder to ask to be put on a wait-list. They told us they had one boy(9 weeks old) that had not been spoken for and he was from Duncan's line. They said if we wanted to stick with the same lineage we'd have to wait about 2 years. Needless to say we flew across the country to get him the next weekend. He would be our Duncan's great nephew. We are so many similarities in his demeanor as Duncan. He'll never replace our guy but he's helping to heal my broken heart.
...Miss Beatrice aka "Birdie". Vet visit went well. Puppy Strangles is the diagnosis so we got a dexamethasone shot, oral steroids, and some Rx cream for her ears with a 10 day follow up. She also got her official tag today (a' la Lady and The Tramp). Training well, no accidents, she recalls with her ACD big brother but we know her terrier brain will make independent recall hard (our backyard is a fenced acre so she isn't in danger). We are so looking forward to getting her on the mend and getting to know her personality.
It’s autumn and he’s making a new friend in the park.
I brought home my first scottie today. I'm not new to rodent hunters as I've had Dachshunds most of my life. This little girl came into our life from less than ideal circumstances and is approximately 19 weeks. Here she is meeting my husband's shadow (ACD) and her new big brother. My dachshund passed in July at 15 from CHF and I said I couldn't go through the heartache anymore after him. Then I saw this poor girl and I couldn't stop myself. She looks like she's dealing with some possible allergies (flaking skin, weepy eyes, and angry ears), potentially mites. I'm treating for both while we wait on my vet and ACD is on preventative anyway. Thankfully her lungs sound fine and there's no cough or discharge. We have farm animals so today has been quite eventful for her. She's surprisingly timid and We haven't heard a peep out of her. I started her training as soon as we got her cleaned up and some relief for her ears, she's smart but has selective hearing like my dachs did. We haven't settled on a name yet but so far the top contenders are Maisie or Órla. I'm open to name suggestions and would welcome any insider tips. Here's to a happy and hopefully healthier new begining for little miss.
Slightly too intelectual for her
Our girl has not had the opportunity to get her first proper grooming yet because we don’t have any groomers available in our area (or ones who will take a Scottie).
Our girl’s hair has now grown out and we’re hesitant to attempt to cut it because we think she looks so cute and wooly. With that said, we should probably cut it right?
I appreciate the feedback and thanks for the support - first time Scottie owner so very much open to any words of wisdom :)

I'm gettin' really good at barely gettin' by!!”🎶🎤 ⚠️ 🦺 🚧 🏗️ 🔨 Axe says Happy Halloween! He said he wanted to be like his daddy when he grew up, so we’re just helping out! 💛🧡🖤 Full disclosure: he was not nearly as thrilled about this costume as he was his clown one last year. 🙈
To infinity and beyond!!!!
My boys wore these costumes for a few years. They absolutely loved Halloween. They both crossed a little over 4 years ago, but I so adore this picture (it was taken professionally and turned into a post card) and I hope that they bring a smile to someone who needs one.
