What are some of the most prestigious merit-based scholarships?
hey! did anyone else do the dr. pepper scholarship giveaway video? have you heard anything? does anyone know when we should hear who the finalists are?
If you have received an award or scholarship from this organization did you actually get the money or just a letter stating you did? In the beginning of this semester Fall 2024 I was told I would receive $1600 for the semester. Now it's almost the end of the semester and I have not received anything. Just wondering if anyone out there has received actual money from them.
Is anyone who’s participated in CLS/CLS Spark willing to share the essays that got them in? I’m looking for examples on how to draft mine
Hey y’all, doubt this applies to many of you, but I’m from Kentucky and applied for USSYP (United States Senate Youth Program) and I haven’t received an email back regarding semi-finalists. However, my friend has and they were rejected. I’m just stressed because it was supposed to be mid-October and the interviews for Semi-finalists to become finalists is this Saturday (3 days away).

I recently finished my HSC with a GPA of 4.08 out of 5.00. I know it’s not the strongest, but I’m determined to get into a good university for my higher studies with a scholarship. I’ve decided to dedicate the next year to strengthening my profile, but I’m not entirely sure where to start.
I’m open to any advice on what I should focus on or what activities would best improve my chances for admission and financial aid. If anyone has been in a similar situation or has experience in building a strong profile despite a lower GPA, I’d really appreciate your insights.
What would you recommend I do in the next year to make myself a more competitive candidate?
Thank you so much for any help or advice!
hey guys so my parents make over $300k combined. normally paying for college wouldn't have been a problem. unfortunately they made a couple bad investments and money is tight so i'm not sure if they will pay for my college. my older sister is already in college and they can barely pay for it. are there any scholarships or schools i should apply to? i have decent stats: valedictorian, president of a couple clubs, captain of varsity sports team, 1 international award, and 36 act.
I'm new to scholarships but my parents make over 500k per year and they said they won't pay for my college tuition if I don't get into a top 3 ranked UC. I'm not that smart and I don't wanna take out loans for college what are my options.
Im applying for the Gates Scholarship and UNCF (United Negro College Fund) and both ask for SSN. Usually scholarships are not supposed to ask but is this because they’re both geared toward minorities?
2 months ago, my father, the sole provider for our family, was diagnosed with a chronic illness. As a son eager to alleviate his burden, I applied for a scholarship from a developing state and was fortunate enough to be awarded one. I am currently a penultimate university student with a long-held dream of pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. after completing my bachelor's degree. However, I am still actively seeking financial support for my postgraduate studies. Upon receiving the scholarship, I learned that I would be obligated to work in the developing state for a specific period after graduation. Initially, I believed I could fulfill this service bond after completing my postgraduate studies. However, given my family's financial constraints, I am now faced with a difficult decision. I have considered three potential outcomes: A. Accept the scholarship and repay the full amount within a month if I choose to pursue postgraduate studies.
B. Decline the scholarship to avoid the immediate financial burden of repayment if I decide to further my education.
C. Accept the scholarship, fulfill the two-year service bond in the developing state, and then pursue postgraduate studies. I hope to secure funding from a company to support my postgraduate studies, but I am uncertain about the likelihood of this.
I am seeking advice on the best course of action, as I am torn between my family's needs, my academic aspirations, and the financial implications of each choice.
Sorry if this is confusing. I work at an alternative elementary school and my time at the school has been a motivator in getting a teaching degree myself. I'm working on applying for scholarships and will be talking about my time working at this school. My knee jerk reaction was to avoiding referring to the school by name, but then I felt like it was hard to make my writing sound professional when I just say "this school" "the school I've been working at" etc and it sounds clunky. Then I thought about it and didn't even know if there was a reason to avoid putting such information down? I'm currently applying to a scholarship through the college I'm attending, does it matter if its from the college or somewhere else?
I'm 18F attending Oberlin College in Oberlin, OH. I applied to a lot of scholarships in my senior year of high school and one most of the local ones; however, I'm trying to see if there are any full ride scholarships out there for undergraduate students that could cover the rest of my education. I am also an African American Student and my major is Chemistry.
Hello everyone I’m 20 years old and was wondering if there was any scholarships I could apply for to help me go back to college ,backstory I went to college for like a semester when I was 19 but couldn’t afford to go and also went to work more hours to be able to afford a car and pushed back going to college for awhile but now I really want to go back and fafsa isn’t an option for me because my parents make more money but they won’t pay for my college because they would have to be fair and pay for 4 kids colleges so that’s out of the question I work a 14hr wage job and work 40 hours on average and barley make ends meets on my own if you guys have any recommendations I would love to hear I just really want to finish my associates and hope to get into nursing!
Any tips from winners, especially the essay?
I really think oxford would be an amazing opportunity for me. I live in Kentucky. I have a 32 ACT and multiple 5s on AP exams. I'm also going to take the SAT and hope to get a 1500 at least.
However, I have no college fund. We don't make a lot of money, either. I know American schools give out some really nice scholarships. Does oxford or any governmental organizations give any scholarships to help pay if I get in?
Does anyone of you know about PCAFPD Scholarship po? Is it legit and safe to apply to?
I was desperate for scholarships and I make a account on niche and scholarship owl but the more I researched about them the more I regret it. Does anyone know how to delete your account on scholarship owl and niche?

Looking to find some scholarships I can apply to. Im a US Florida resident. I have a 1380 SAT and 3.6154 UW and 4.1077 W GPA. I am low income and first gen. Please help
I’m planning on going to my state’s university, with a pretty definite chance of getting in. I want to apply for scholarships, but I don’t know where to look for them. The college website says it will automatically consider you for scholarships, merits and grants just by submitting an application. Is it really that simple?
Hello! I applied to the United States Senate Youth Program this year, and I’m awaiting news to see if I am selected for an interview. So far, I haven’t received a response yet. If I am not selected for an interview, will they still notify/email me? I am from Illinois, so they don’t require the exam.
I have divorced parents and always lived with my mom, but my father has been trying to get more involved as I apply to colleges and graduate. I got into my first choice school, yay!! But here’s the thing, my dad thinks I can just pay for school with scholarships like my sister who’s in nursing school did.
He keeps bragging about how she got tons of scholarships to pay for school and how she’s graduating debt free. He told me to apply to scholarships and trust me I have been, but i’m a fairly mediocre student.
I have a 3.3 GPA and 24 ACT, nothing remotely impressive, especially not for scholarships, but It got me into my first choice school (I think it was mostly my essay but wtv)
I have lots of community service and volunteer experience, I was actually apart of a unique youth leadership program at my Humane Society last year as well that’s super competitive.
I’m a tutor and editor in chief of a youth magazine, as well as started a STEM club through my school.
And then finally, I raised my tuition to attend a GLA (global leadership adventures) program this summer in South Africa, I got service hours but I won’t act like it was all community service, it was mostly educational and the program was centered around wildlife conservation so I got to learn about of really cool things about ecology and conservation in the field.
I’m low income and first generation in my household, so I guess I have that going for me. But overall, i’m just super mediocre and I don’t know how to find scholarships that will suit me. If anyone has advice, i’d appreciate it. :)) I don’t want to disappoint him and tell him there’s no way I’m getting 10+ scholarships, but i’d at least like to try my best.
when i hit apply on the irex website i get a login interface and no icon to register
