Paying phone bills/cable bill scam?

I’ve been seeing this everywhere for a couple years where people claim to help pay peoples phone bill. They need the full name, SSN, phone provider, and online phone login…

Is this a scam? If so, how do they scam people by doing this? (Obviously I know that having a persons SSN can lead to fraud)

I’m just wondering if anybody has ever been helped by doing this or is this an outright scam?

Miet-Mix LLC

Has anyone been hired by Miet-Mix, LLC in Philadelphia, PA? Their website no longer exists, emails are returned as unknown domain name. I'm looking to connect with anyone that might have more information about the company and what happened to them.

My buddy was scammed for allot of money

My buddy had a bad break up. So he took to online dating. More specifically Facebook dating. He met a woman named Chen she works for a Chinese importing company. She lives in our city but can’t leave work and is only supposed to talk to her family. She got him to invest he had his bank check to see if the app was legitimate. They gave him the all clear. This was three weeks ago. She sent him videos of her brushing her teeth and couldn’t talk on the phone. We’ll two weeks ago he got a message he had till tomorrow to put 100000 into his investing app otherwise his credit would take a hit and his account frozen. He had already taken out a 10000 dollar loan. he panicked and Chen told him it would be fine that she’s used it for years and he could pull out as soon as he hit the 100k. We’ll he sunk his life savings took out 3 30000 dollar loans and borrowed allot of money. Then when he thought he would be able to pull out he found out to pull out he needs an additional 6000 for taxes. That’s when it sunk in. He dose not know what to do. He asked everyone at work if we had any idea how he can get it back or at least find out who did this. So I figured the best place is redit. Any help would be appreciated. I’ll put a picture of the Facebook profile

Any steps to take with a scammer using your pics

Hello all, My sister-in-law just contacted my s.o. to tell her that an unknown number (by area code appears to be in Indiana, US) sent her a "hello gorgeous, add me to your phone book" message via WhatsApp using my s.o.'s 4-year old Facebook profile pic as their own.

We did a check on any and all accounts to find out if there's any odd movements; there doesn't seem to be any. I tried to chalk it up to a coincidence, but it would be a contrived one. But I do know that for a brief window of time, my s.o. had her Facebook profile set to public given that no one could add her as friend otherwise. I told her that's enough for someone to browse and save her images, but to also find her own sister? We don't know how that happened (she doesn't have her contact info on FB, or anything like that).

My sister-in-law is based in Costa Rica; me and my s.o. are based in Canada, and I'm not sure what to do at this point. What would be your recommendations, if any?

Help Please

Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me with a scammer? They posed as a professor asking for someone to fill in their internship position and paying $500 a week. I know, I know red flags, but I'm a broke college student and the email was tied in with a department at my university and it seemed legit at the time. They sent me a check for $500 and asked me to purchase 2 $200 gift cards and to send the code. My dumbass did. I'm not sure what to do or proceed with it. The money went through and was deposited. I've spoken with IT at my school and all they told me was that I needed to reset my passwords, I also tried to call the police and they don't help for shit or how to proceed with it. I already contacted the support at google play store and they have flagged the gift cards. Is there any thing more to do? Can I catch them or find out who they are?

David stones scam

Posting on behalf of a few people running into this issue, a couple of friends I know got scammed on seeking arrangement. Guy went buy David stones and essentially asked whoever he was talking to at the moment to send money to an “errand” boy and then David would apparently tell said person a specific amount and the person whose getting scammed would be able to keep it, then days later the check would bounce. Unfortunately this has happened to a few people I know and when they call their banks, it seems like he maybe placed a stop payment pretty fast or already has some kind of thing he says to get the bank off his back because most of the claims people have made don’t reverse the credit. So I know people that are out a lot of money.

Tl;dr David stones scams by offering to let you keep a good chunk of money then cancels the check days later and blocks people off of everything. Anyone else know about this/ anyway to go after this shit lord?

Do Your Part And Report Scams

I recently was introduced to another business scam by one of my friends who had lost over $300 to it. It was one of those "Get Rich Over Night" schemes just masked in a different form. He told me a little bit about it. They had him sign up for an account with them by depositing $300 and he went on to say how the people were very inviting at first and kept him updated for a week or so. But then after a while, they just ghosted him taking everything from the account. I felt bad as my friend isn't very internet savvy and tends to be very old school. I showed him a tool called Scam Risk that had many reviews on the specific company that scammed him, and we documented his experience as well. Now I recommend all of you guys do the scam for any time you get scammed or hear about one. You may not get your money back, but you might help someone else out in the future. I know my friend will always check first before buying another course.

IPTV Scam?

Hi, I've recently got in the world of IPTV like pluto tv, because of the problems with the TV services providers of my country (PERU), so searching for an alternative, discovered the IPTV world, and instantly got bombarded with sites on facebook and instagram, the price was low, so I decided to give it a shot, the chat in facebook told me they had the channels I was looking for, unfortunately, there was no free 1 day trial, nor similar. I was about to try the service but I noticed that the add on facebook was the same, but with different store, so I clicked and it was the same page, the same everything, I haven't noticed the name until that moment, and there was another one exactly the same too, when talking with the page via fb messenger they gave me an email completely different than their domain name, service@contactus24h.online and when I see their facebook contact email its yxue120514@163.com different than their domain name too.

It rings all the bells of scam, but I know the world of IPTV is kinda difficult, some countries allow it, some don't, websites get constantly down, etc. So I think there is a small chance it can be real, is there any way to know if the service they are selling is real? These are the webs, those are exactly the same https://xesitae.com / https://minerey.shop / https://orianay.shop

Some might say why not use a well established IPTV service like the services named here: https://www.firesticktricks.com/best-iptv-service.html

And the answer is simple, 80% of those services are currently unavailable.

If anyone can confirm that any of these sites are real, I would really appreciate it, thanks for your time nevertheless.
