Im likely moving to SM in the near future and was wondering how much would I realistically have to make. I'll be renting a house with some friends and rent would be around $800/month.

Not looking for a super specific number, but more of a ballpark idea so I know what job offers I should even bother entertaining.

I just wanted to get some anecdotal feedback. Lately, I'm hearing a lot of people are suffering from eczema, psoriasis, atopic type dermatitis, or symptoms diagnosed as peripheral neuritis/neuropathy in the local area and I didn't know if it is a localized thing. Itching, burning, dry skin, and a lot of pain, inflammation and discomfort associated with it. I would love to hear from local people.

I am moving to the Santa Maria area soon (north east area) and was wondering if there are any public tennis courts available nearby. My partner and I like to play recreationally from time to time and currently we do so at the public high school in our area. Does anyone know if there is a park or if the public high schools allow access on the weekend. Thank you!

I’ve had xfinity for nearly 10 years, and switched to frontier because I thought it would be better. It fucking sucks (for me at least). Lag spikes, and I’m not getting the 1TB I’m paying for. Are there any better internet companies in here that you guys would recommend before I go back to xfinity?

Our special needs son's pediatrician believes he is near sighted, and we need to followup with an optometrist to get a prescription. However, the last time we went to an optometrist (Walmart) the optometrist didn't seem to understand that our son had an inability to chose "which one looks better, A or B". We tried using a machine that I believe tracked his eye movements as it showed him different images, but it took a lot of tries before they got confident results from it, and we are not confident that we got an accurate analysis from that optometry appointment.

Can anyone suggest an optometrist in town or in a nearby town that might be more equipped to assess our son's vision? Thank you in advance.

Also, anyone know an affordable way to provide replacements for him? He's very rough on his belongings, and unfortunately we expect him to break them often.

He is currently leasing a place that has been sold, and came home to discover a 30 day eviction notice even though his lease is good until July 1st! He is a quiet professional, works mostly from home for the state, (good income), but credit has taken a hit due to a recent separation/pending divorce. He’s a responsible guy just trying to get back on his feet. Kitty has been his true blue companion through it all and is clean and spoiled. He has an impeccable rental history, has never failed to get a full deposit back, takes care of rentals like they’re his own, and is just a wonderful tenant, person, and cat dad. If you know of anyone who has a rental and would appreciate a tenant like this, please reach out! Also any leads on apartments in the area. At this point the primary goal is long term with a kind landlord. Thanks in advance for any leads🙏

Hello Santa Maria redditors. I am station at Vandenberg and am in need of an apartment at the end of May. I drive an EV with a little over 100 miles of range, so I will need an apartment that has pretty easy access to charging.

The two options I found are Hancock Terrace and Azure Apartments.

Hancock Terrace is the cheaper option, but it only has one charging stall. It is also in a part of town I am not too happy with, but it is gated. How safe is this area?

Azure Apartments cost a bit more, but have multiple charging stations and in an area that I prefer. But, I have read reports online of various levels of crime in the area.

Really, for charging, all I need is a garage where I can have access to a standard 110 plug. Anything extra is just a nice to have. Any thoughts on Hancock Terrace or Azure Apartments?

This is a longggggg shot but does anyone else have a problem with the Informed Delivery feature? I get emails saying my mail comes with a black and white scan. I’ve been waiting on an important check that is supposed to pay my monthly rent. The email said it was delivered today however, I checked and received nothing but the usual junk mail. I would ask for a rent extension however my rent is a large amount and I don’t believe the complex would even think about extending it. Anyone have the same problems/any advice? Thanks.

I rented a room mid-March and after a week was told I had to move. Turns out the guy isn't allowed to sublease. He had me fill out an application and said I was approved, and now says he actually never turned it in so there is no contract. He has become quite hostile as well.

I work for the city of SM and have good references. I dont have pets. I am housebroken lol. My family all lives in SB. If anyone knows of or has a room for rent, please dm me. I have been looking on fb and Craigslist but that is a slow process. I expect to have to sleep in my car if I don't find a place fairly soon. I've stayed in a hotel the last few nights but that's Hella expensive!
