We're makin' some upgrades around here people. We've implemented user-selectable flair for favorite local brewery.
Expect a new events Calendar soon that'll be hosted on google calendar.
I'll be doing some more overhauls as time goes on. Feel free to suggest anything you'd love to see in this sub!

My girlfriend and I will be visiting San Diego for a week, and we were hoping to get some input and suggestions on our prospective plans.
Whenever we travel, we like to make a Google MyMap which contains all of the places that have been recommended to us or we've researched and determined to be worth visiting (instead of wasting time trying to search and narrow down something when we're there). This is not a list of all of the places we intend to visit, rather a curated collection.
We have an AirBnB in North Park for the week. Came with bikes, and we figured it would put us in walking or public transit distance of most of the places we'd want to go out at night. But we can still modify the reservation without cancellation fee through next week if there's another area people feel strongly that we should stay for some of our time.
Let me know if there is anything I'm missing or things we should definitely do/take a pass on.
We're both open when it comes to beer styles (although I do love the NE IPA and kettle sour scene we have back home). Same goes for food, however my girlfriend has recently been following a diet that is low sugar, low carb, so anything that is geared towards that will pique her interests.
Additionally, we love bringing beer from home (general east coast/NYC- area) when we travel to trade and chat with people where we're traveling. If anyone from out there would want to gather for an impromptu bottle share or recommends someone or some brewery/bar for that kind of socializing, we love a good meetup.

Anyone know of any recent Baltic Porters or Russian Imperial Stouts locally made? Starting craving them both as it’s gotten cooler. Thanks!
Hey all!
Just moved to your lovely city and am coming from a place where I was socially involved a lot in the craft beer community. What are the main bottle shops, beer bars, and places with the most events? San Diego beer can be a little overwhelming with the amount of great options so I'm looking for a place so start. Thanks!
Anyone going to Petco this weekend? I'll be there tomorrow night
I'm in town for the Untappd fest in a couple weeks and staying in Little Italy. Despite my user name, I'm not from SD. I'm looking at Beer Mapping Project, but before I start mapping out routes on my own, is anyone aware of a map that shows breweries and trolley routes on one map?
I like Coronado's beers, so I'll head up there. I definitely want to hit a Pizza Port, Ocean Beach looks like it'll work. Societe looks like it's too far from the Trolley, so I'll probably skip it. I wanted to get to Alesmith, but that also doesn't look like it's reasonably accessible by rail. I know there are dozens of great breweries, but is there a map that overlays breweries with the Trolley map to help me plan a little? Or has anyone already mapped out a brewery 'crawl' to breweries near the Trolley?
Thanks!
Where can I find a good pumpkin ale around here? I’m a native but I spent a significant amount of time in the north east and miss the sensation of drinking pumpkin bread from a goblet. Please hook your girl up with a good recommendation. Ty.
Having made a pilgrimage to the the northwest and as I am now back in the IPA wasteland of San Diego I would like to find a beer similar to Quilter's Irish Death if one exists that can be purchased in the southern California.
Another beer I would like to find an analog to would be Mac and Jack's African Amber.
Going to be visiting from Iowa and was wondering what you guys had for booze laws? We here in iowa can buy 7 days a week up until 2am including grocery stores. We recently got to go drinks so like order a cocktail or mix drink in a sealed to go glass. Just seeing if you guys had an rules or etiquette things.
Will be looking for places with cider, sours, lactose pastry beers and everything in-between lagers, ales,IPAs
Let me know :) TIA
New to California and want to try as much local craft beer as I can. Are there any beer stores in town that sell singles/build your own six-packs? Total Wine was my go-to when I lived on the east coast, but we don't have any out here.
Edit: For geographical reference, I live in Morena near USD, work in Kearny Mesa
Hey I’m visiting SD next weekend for the Fourth of July and would love some recommendations for new breweries I have not visited.
Here is where I have been so far: Modern Times, Pure Project, Eppig, North Park, Stone, Harland
OS ITservice is the best in San Diego. I opened an Italian restaurant in OB and they did everything for me. Website, security system, POS, and ordering system.
They don't have a ticket system like other companies they assign a technician to your restaurant and you talk directly with the tech. The guy that is helping me is amazing, one time I called him at 4:30 am, and at 6 am he was working inside my restaurant. I was honestly shocked and they didn't charge me anything more than what I'm paying each month ($1200)
I highly suggest you give them a try (619) 630-0164. https://ositservice.com/
My favorite beer in the world is Garage Brewing's Marshmallow Milk Stout, which I had on draft years ago in Hillcrest. In the past I've driven all the way to Temeculah where they are, but if anyone knows a place that reliably has this beer on tap I'd really appreciate it! (The brewery's website has locations that they distribute to identified but obviously can't guarantee the status and I don't know how frequently it is updated; bottles/cans is fine but draft would be killer, thanks!)
I think that I just got nostalgic, maybe not. I haven't had a proper firken (other the during beer week at Hamilton's after the Fling!). Does anybody do 'em anymore?
Looking for your favorite super tasty, flavorful and juicy IPAs. Fruity and lighter tasting, not super hoppy preferable. Looking for some to send to a friend.
So, I have a very limited stop in SD but want to get stocked up on some beer. I am mainly interested in the smaller breweries (I have visited many of the larger, more well known ones already in the past). The last time I was in SD was maybe 3-4 years back.
What I am basically looking for:
Has packaged beer to go - preferable in 16 oz 4 packs (as opposed to bottles/crowlers). Cans are preferred since I will be in the outdoors and do not want to deal with glass.
Good (obviously) - style wise, I drink a lot of IPAs, but enjoy well made lagers. So a good mix is always preferred.
Generally local - meaning, not wide distro (for example, I can get Modern Times, Belching Beaver, etc in Texas, I rather try things that I cannot get)
I can order online and pick up to go
Open on Saturday (I assume all are...but...with Covid, I figured I would add in.
Any suggestions?
Hey I am looking for a brewery to hit up with a great patio. ( my friends request) Epigg Point Loma is booked. Any recommendations would be loved. Thank you all again.
Again thank you to everyone here, who helped me on my lager hunt! My next question is Barrel aged programs in the SD area? Thank you in advance.
I am new to San Diego area and I am looking for Lagers. Is there a brewery that specializes in bottom fermented beers? Or a brewery that does others but has an amazing lager? Please and thank you?
