Is it only for US, im from Philippines with Apple Intelligence enabled, but safari highlights never work on any website, it is enabled in the settings>advanced

I use a MacBook Pro for work with a corporate Apple Account and a personal iPhone with my private Apple Account. I'd love to sync Safari between them so bookmarks and history stay aligned, but I haven’t found a way to set this up.

I've linked my work Apple Account to my personal one through Family Sharing, which is great for shared purchases and photos, but Safari sync is still missing.

Anyone else in a similar situation? Any tips or workarounds? Thanks!

Do you know of any extension that allows you to contain your extensions in Safari like Chrome?

To be more specific I am talking how Chrome has a single button and all extensions are there in a list and you can pin those that you really need on the toolbar.

For some reason it's not working but it really private relay it keeps saying that but I had it on before and it never had a problem till now (also YouTube isn't working but idk if that's related too)

I am hoping somebody with a better understanding of ITP than myself can help clarify what I am seeing. From what I read on Apple's website and other sites describing ITP, Safari essentially works in the background and removes tracking and cookie data after a certain period of time where you don't interact with a website. For example, if I visit reddit, it will store first party cookies and other data, but if I don't visit reddit after an extended period of time, Safari deletes the website data associated with Reddit. And with third party data, it's on a 24 hour clock.

However, when I look at my website data on my iPhone (Settings - safari - advanced - website data), I see entries to websites I've visited and other third party sites that I haven't interacted with in weeks if not months, but there is still a few mb of data stored from that site. Does that mean that ITP is not working? I do see a bunch of sites with 0 bytes, but there are other sites that continue to have data included long after I've visited them. My concern is that tracking data is being stored long-term which would defeat the purpose of ITP.

Just trying to understand if ITP is working as intended and what I am getting wrong.

I just went back to using Safari and am installing AdGuard on my Mac and iOS devices. Main priorities are to block web ads and YouTube ads. It's confusing to me whether there is any advantage in using AdGuard Pro. I'm not comfortable enabling it to intercept all HTTPS traffic. Not doing so seems to limit its effectiveness in non-Safari apps like Chrome, which I'll use for sites that don't work well in Safari.

I don't understand the advantages of the PRO edition. Am I missing something?

I have a MacBook Air M2 (base) and primarily use Firefox. However, was going to give Safari a try again due to some of the new features in 18.1 that I'm enjoying. Safari states it's faster than Chrome and Firefox, but when I run a test at Speedometer, Safari gives me a score of 25.8 and Firefox scores a 29.7. I'm sure I cannot notice the difference as both load pages super fast. Those that use Firefox... do you ever go back to Safari? Thoughts?

Is there any benefit to cleaning website data on a regular?

I posted earlier this week about a website that wont open but will open on other browsers etc. Turned out the only fix was to clear my website data for that site and voila it worked right away.

What do you use for Adblock that’s free?? Adguard worked wonders for me but stopped working after a few months. Ghostery worked for a few days lol The main issue is YouTube ads (black screen, no ad and no skip button) and random popups on certain sites I use to watch tv shows (previously they were blocked). I even deleted and reinstalled adguard

Should I just switch to chrome?? I like safari though :( and I hear since chrome and YouTube are both owned by Google the Adblocks for chrome never really work either

SOLUTION: seems like the only fix is to delete site data for that site. Fixed it immediately, although i have no idea why.

I am trying to open some websites from Fair Work Australia and Safari wont open them, gives me the attached screenshot error, but same sites open in Chrome, Edge and Brave. I have no idea why this is happening. Any suggestions?

Say I have bookmarked a page. When I start safari on my Mac, I would like it to open to this page. However I've only succeeded in starting on a new Homepage designated as that website, but not the tab I already have bookmarked. It ends up with my bookmarked tab on the left, and an extra duplicate tab on the right. Is it possible to not have it make a new page, empty page, start page? Is there a way to do what I'm talking about or is it sadly not feasible?

My only problem with making my homepage url the website I want is then I have a huge massive tab taking up the whole task bar. I also have to worry about not closing the tab accidentally and then having to reopen it.

I'm aware this is kind of a non-issue but it's just a little thing that bugs me.

So some hours ago my safari was completely great, but all of the sudden the bar with all the pages on top disappeared. This makes it impossible to move pages and even search online. I already updated my computer and reboot it but it remains the same. Thanks. Im a Mac user.

Ok I’m gonna be honest. I accidentally clicked on a website while looking for porn on my phone. The website is called digitalbatch.com. I’m worried about what this website is, a few websites like scam advisor say it’s safe but every-time I click it opens up to a bunch of random shady dating websites. The websites logo looks kinda like pornhubs logo but instead of ph it’s gn. Should I be worried about this website? Is is different for you guys?

Sometimes my pinned tabs will phase out of existence, only to return minutes later. Does anyone else have issues with this?

With Apple pushing Artificial Apple Intelligence in all their products, what is something that you would actually find useful in Safari?

Currently we only have some Summaries in Reader mode, but I think some kind of Auto-Tab organizing like Chrome and Arc has would be kind of helpful. I also think having Visual Intelligence built into the browser like Google Lens is in Chrome would be really nice.

Since I started using Safari 18 I'm having lot of problems with online videos: worst UI, Airplay's button disappeared from lot of website where it use to work, by placing a video in PiP and going back and forth on that page, page freezes, ecc..

Other than downgrading to Safari 17 (if possible), is there a way to disable video mode from Safari?

Hi all, I installed the Grammarly App on my iPad and turned on the extension within Safari. I’ve used it before with no problem, but now when I start typing in any text field the extension doesn’t seem to recognize it and doesn’t offer any corrections. My iPad is on OS 17.7.1 and I have cleared all Safari history and website data. Any idea what’s is going on/how to fix it?

Does anyone else have issues with Safari web apps closing themselves (or maybe it's a soft crash) consistently? No matter which sites I create apps from, they will stay open and running for a bit and then without any notice will either close or crash. Has been happening on MacOS 15 and 15.1

I’ve been having trouble syncing the bookmarks between devices. It seems hit-and-miss; sometimes it syncs okay but most of the time it takes forever to see the bookmarks I created on the other device, if ever. Browsing history is syncing without any issue. Is there anyone having the same issue? If so, does anyone know a solution for this?

Every time I navigate within Reddit, this prompt keeps coming up even though I am logged into Reddit. How do I get rid of this? I don't think I have to sign into Safari as I never have before. I can only assume this is Reddit. I am on version 17.4.1 Safari. TIA

When I am by my parents house I cannot use safari on their wifi. Chrome and other works fine but if I want to use safari I have to use shared network 5g via my iPhone. I've had this problem for a while.. How do I fix?

I'm taking a proctored test and cannot use this PDF any other way than how it's given (in a link I have to use in safari). Unfortunately the PDF is about 1000 pages long and I need the CTRL F function to work so I don't have to read through the whole thing during a timed test. Sometimes it works, other times I type in what I need and it just freezes and doesn't search for the word at all (like above). What am I supposed to do?

Sometimes if I keep refreshing the page (like five times), it'll start to work again but time is of the essence in this.
