My friend and I plan on visiting Rwanda in a few months, and we are excited to see and learn about this country!

We're having a bit of trouble figuring out how to get about, we'd fly into kigali, before moving north to Ruhengeri, and then up into Uganda.

Just interested in people's advice on what the best way to get around is for backpackers - taxis, busses, private drivers, trains?

also if you have any recommendations on things to see that would be greatly appreciated!

I see like with every other country I'm aware of there's different levels and one of them is for learners under supervision of someone with their full license and then after that you can upgrade and drive on your own

In many places (including where I'm from) there's a minimum amount of time you must have learners before you can upgrade to a license that lets you drive on your own

My question is this:

Can you get the learners (whatever it's called) and then take a course and upgrade right away or is there an amount of time you have to wait before upgrading?

If there's any amount of time you have to wait between learner license, new driver license, and full license, how long are those times?

Someone told me I have to go to Uganda to get the visa since we don’t have the embassy here. However I know we have a consulate here, shouldn’t that be enough?

Hello! I am making a trip to Rwanda soon, and I wanted to know if Spanish Limes (Quenepas, Canapa, Mamon, Genip, Quenette) grow in the country! I know the grew, or at least used to grow in South Africa. If someone could tell me whether or not they grow in Rwanda and what they are called there, I would really appreciate it!

Has anyone else been experiencing issues with their internet today? Apparently it is a problem in all of East Africa due to some cut cables. Does anybody know how long these things take to resolve or if it will be resolved at all?

I’m traveling to Rwanda in a few weeks (Kigali) for a Study Abroad program through my university, and for a weekend of the trip I will be living with a host family. I’ve been advised to bring a gift for them, but I’m not sure what to bring! I’ve been told to bring something for the children as well as the adults, and I’ve been told that Rwandan adults don’t like sweets much. Does anyone have any ideas/recommendations?
