/r/runningroutes
This subreddit is for people to post pictures of all the different places they go for a run. Woods, cities, event routes are all welcome.
This is a place to post pictures of your favorite spot to get a few miles/kilometers in. Please be respectful of poster and in the comments. The picture can be of any place you go running, including events. Feel free to message me with any suggestions for the formatting, picture parameters, etc.
Title Formatting: Please put at least City, State or City, Country in the title so we know about where it's at. Feel free to add what park or trail if you want.
Picture Guidelines: The post should include a picture you took while on a run. If you would like to post a GPS map of your trail as well, that is fine. You can, and I encourage you to, include yourself in the picture.
Please No:
*GPS maps of a standard route only. You can have one accompany a picture, or you can "draw" a picture using a tracking app.
*Edited shots. We want to see the route in its natural beauty.
*Links to blogs or other sites. This isn't the place to promote your site. Obviously, imgur is the preferred image hosting site, but anything is fine as long as it links to the image alone.

Iām visiting San Diego in a few days. Wanted to get my long run in. Is this a safe route to start around 5 am? TIA!
I've set up a goal to run a 5k in every county in Michigan. Not a race, just a run. Has anyone else ever tried to do this in MI or any other state? I'm 65 counties down. 18 more to complete. I've allowed myself five years to accomplish it. Let me know if you've ever done other challenges. Or let me know if you'd run with me!

I have an Apple Watch 7 and have recently downloaded a half marathon trail route map onto the Gaia app. I have never used the app before. Iām planning to use the Gaia app on my watch to guide me around the trail. Will I be able to use the data from the Gaia app to sync my trail run to Strava? Or should I record my run using the Apple Watch activity app at the same time?
It covers a variety of ecosystems, and some rough terrain. The highest point is a Native American burial mound on a ridge over the Missouri River. 300 feet below the trail passes through deeply wooded gorges.
Is there an app that can calculate/estimate a specific distance (ie. 10km, 25km)
I want to go for a 25km run from my air bnb and back but donāt know how to calculate how far 25km actually is, and it would be nice to run a ācircleā if that makes sense.. not just run 12.5km turn around and run the same road back.
Is there an app or an easy way to figure out 25km from my location and back?
I'm going to Fuerteventura in about a months time and am looking to run whilst away. Anyone know any good routes (ideally ones roughly 14km or 8km), tracks, and places to run? Thanks
Data collection for my research study on Spartans ends this Saturday 3/4 at 11:59 pm PST! Thank you so much if you've already participated or spread the word, but if you are eligible and haven't gotten a chance then there is still time! Just be sure to include a screenshot from your race data in the Garmin connect app to be eligible (video instructions link in the survey itself) for a chance to enter the raffle for 1 of 8 free races!
My name is Gabe Hernandez and Iām a grad student at Cal State Long Beach in my last semester of my M.S. in Athletic Training degree. For my thesis/research project Iāve been conducting a study on Spartan racers who used a Garmin smartwatch in the last 5 years to record their race data. By entering so you can opt-in for a raffle for a free Spartan race in 2023! While this may not be directly applicable to your interests in this subreddit page, I hope that this is able to reach a wider audience so that I may use this data to publish an official article after I graduate and represent the obstacle course racing community in scientific literature. If youāre interested the link for the survey is in my bio, or if you would like more info feel free to DM me. The link is listed below and you can also scan the QR code in this flier!

Hey guys! I am doing some research for a design project. Could you all take this survey? It's pretty short and would help so much!
