Let's reminisce. What's your favorite Run Disney memory?

I think the first time I ran up Main Street USA and saw the crowds and the castle is what I come back to. That was also my first marathon and the sense of accomplishment that came from that was astounding.

Why isn't there a lottery system?

Usually races have a lottery system due to its popularity but why aren't there for Disney?

Hong Kong Disneyland 10K Weekend returns November 2024

Yesterday, Hong Kong Disneyland announced the return of their road races for this November 2nd and 3rd, 2024. (This is the same as Wine and Dine Half Marathon weekend). There are 3K, 5K and 10K distances. The 10K will run through the new World of Frozen.

Fingers crossed we see Paris returning soon- I am guessing after their construction is done. But this is a good sign.

Virtual medal shipping

I tried to search the prior posts but couldn’t find it. When does Disney ship the virtual summer medals? I want to pick a weekend and set up a “course” to make it feel like a live run and get my medal at the end.

Registration

I'm new to RunDisney and trying to research in preparation for the next registration cycle. Do all of the races open for registration in April? I.e. wine & dine and Marathon Weekend. I'm looking at half marathons currently. Also, I'm assuming there is no way to get into the 2025 races at this point, but I thought I would throw out that question as well?

Proof of Time deadlines?

For January 2025 marathon I see that there’s a proof of time deadline of July 1, 2024. But I also see people posting that they submit their POT up until and including the expo. Can you continue to update your POT after the July 1 deadline?

Also, I’m registered for my first Disney race…marathon 2025. Also my first marathon in 13 years…I’m slightly terrified but really looking forward to it!

Anyway I (f26) can get into the marathon for January 2025?

It’s all sold out. I was able to get into the NY marathon with a charity organization. Anything similar or not similar?

Help me decide on a costume :)

It's a bit tough for guys to find awesome running outfits for Disney races, but I just came across some good possibilities. Help me decide which one to get, and thanks! (The the marathon in January)

Flying back Marathon Weekend

Does anyone fly back the Sunday after the marathon or do most people fly back Monday? If you fly back on Sunday after the marathon, how do you handle the check out process?

2025 Princess Theme

Ok this is really dumb question yall, but will we see a preview of the 2025 Princess Half Weekend theming before registration? I ran this year but registration happened while we were across the country for a wedding so I was a tad preoccupied 😂I know we saw Wine and Dine (SO jealous of everyone getting to run this one, I love Remy!!) before so I’m assuming we do for Princess as well, I just literally cannot remember at all!

Vest or fanny?

Hi everyone! Running my first runDisney half marathon and Im looking to purchase a running vest with a water pack or just a thing Fanny to keep my phone and maybe tissues. Is there one that's more popular/ recommended? I'm about to start my more intense training and want to get used to running with either that I purchase.

5k experience with kids

Hi folks. I've completed a lot of run disney races myself but my 9yo niece may start to join me. It's been a while since I've done a 5k so just looking for any tips on those who have had kids with them. Are you placed in the same corral? Are there corrals for 5k? How have your kiddos dealt with getting up so early and waiting in corral? Thanks for any input! (Thinking of princess 2025)

Remember when they gave out paper expo guides?

I was cleaning my room and I found this in a drawer. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to run this race, but it brought back some memories!

Need help

I will be running my first RunDisney race in Jan and I am booking my hotel. I know the expo and stuff starts on Wednesday. Do you have to check in and get your stuff Wednesday or could I fly in and get it Thursday. Just trying to save some PTO. My race is the 10k on Friday. We would be staying at Disney Thursday-Monday.

Wine and dine post race after party

Is the post race party actually worth it as a non runner? My friends are running and wanted me to purchase a ticket. Is there anything else open to do in Epcot besides eating and drinking for 5+ hours?

Which POT should I use

Hey guys. I have a 10k and a 10 miler available for my POT, but I’m unsure which would be best.

10K: 59:13 10 miler: 1:37:34

I’m assuming the 10K would be better since it’s a 9:32 pace instead of a 9:46 pace, but I’m not a rD expert lol

Proof of Time - Name Hyphenation

Hey Guy! So I submitted my proof of time yesterday and gave them a link to a 10k I completed and I realized that on rundisney I have my complete hyphenated name (Maiden Name-Married Name), but for the race I just did I was registered with just my married name. Is this going to be a problem. Should I contact rundisney?

Recovery from first Challenge

Hello good people of Reddit

I ran my very first challenge at Springtime Surprise and I loved every minute of it. However I think I under trained a little for it. A couple days after the race I realized my knees were absolutely killing me. And upon some googling it sounds like it might be runners knee. Any tips on recovery between races and post challenge so this doesn’t happen again? I have Wine and Dine to look forward to!

Proof of Time W&D

Question: did everyone get the email about submitting proof of time for W&D Half?
I'm pretty sure that I put 2:31-2:45 - that doesn't provide a proof of time, correct?

Setting goals for proof of time

Just did the Springtime Surprise challenge and had so much fun. Looking forward to signing up for more races as they open, for sure the Princess HM and hopefully DL HM as well.

This was my first RD event since having a baby, and my most recent one since pre-Covid. I'm a slow runner but would like to get my pace up in this off-season so I can get a higher corral next year (I was in D this time). I've never submitted a POT before and since I'm not signed up for a current race, I can't find any good info on the RD website.

I've read that there's typically a cutoff time of 2:30 for the half marathon to submit a POT, is that right? And do you have to submit a half or full POT if that's what you're running? For example, could I submit a 10k time for a half marathon?

Appreciate any insight I can get on the POT process. This was my 3rd RD event but I've never bothered doing the process before as I'm always just trying to stay ahead of the balloon ladies lol. Hoping to change that!

Water station/pit stop?

I have a group of friends running a Disney virtual race in a couple weeks and my house is right at the halfway point of their run. I want to set up like a water and Gatorade station, but what can I do to make it fun and Disney!? Thanks for all your ideas!

Can’t submit virtual race time

I did one of the virtual Springtime Surprise races but every time I try to submit my time on the RunDisney site I get a “request could not be processed” error. I’ve tried submitting my time both during the event (on the actual weekend when it was still active) and several days since then, so it doesn’t have to do with timing. I’ve tried to do it with both my phone and my laptop and on multiple different browsers. Is anyone having this issue? I’ve done 10+ other virtual RunDisney races and have never had a problem. I’m a bit disappointed because I wanted to see the finisher certificate.

What was the “Surprise” during the Springtime Surprise Race Series?

Does anyone know what the “Surprise” was during the Springtime Surprise Race Series? I have heard two things:

  1. Higher Corrall Placement. People were surprised to find themselves in a higher corral than usual.

  2. Pay for the after-party. People were surprised to have to pay $85 per person for the after party when the entire season, it was inferred to have been part of the registration like it is for Wine and Dine.

Still missing 10miler photos?

Just want to make sure the photos are still processing for everyone vs if I need to contact support. The support page says they should appear within 24hrs so just making sure! My first Disney race so I’d appreciate input from others.
