My gf took the premiun for 1 year (i don't play the game idk the name of the premium)
And i want to know if by default it will auto renew in one year ?
Exactly what the title said. I got hyped up from some videos about world of warcraft and i wanted to try an mmo myself and since rift is free i wanted to give it a go. What do you do for fun in the game?
What happened to this game? A few years ago there were still thousands of daily players I hopped on last night saw 1 person and only 2 spoke in general in a 4 hour period.
I saw some posts saying I can summon 3 pets for necro and ele but in the end it let's me summon only one, I play a druid and I can't have a faerie and satyr at the same time, is there a way to have all tank dps and ranged pets at once?
can i play this game now or am i too late for it?
i never knew about this game existence
I am trying to finish my Ember Isle achievements and I cannot get any zone event to pop for it. Is there a way to start a zone event in the Ember Isle besides just lurking around and hoping?
edit: by lurking, I mean waiting in the zone for an event to start like the game docs say triggers an event. There is probably a requirement for a large number of people to be in a zone to start it.
Does anyone know of another way to start it, like a quest or a lure?
$32.99 for a year. If you're interested.
I'm a long time player, but I stopped about 8 years ago. I played again for a brief stint a couple years ago, but got bored. I'm aware of the state of the game, but has anything changed recently? Is Deepwood still the most active server, and are there any active guilds I should join? Rift was so important for me growing up because I did not have the money to pay for WoW, and I really connected with the storylines in Rift. Every now and then, I feel a pang of nostalgia even though I know it is not receiving support from Gamigo. Still have fondness for the game, its stories, and its music!
Yes, I know, I'm like 14 years late to the party but I'm enjoying what I've been doing so far.
So, I have a few questions:
First of all, do I "have" to do the story quests? Are they required in any way to unlock certain endgame things or dungeons or whatever?
Is there something important that a new player might miss or not know?
How bad is it to not be a "patron"?
I like playing healing classes, is there anything in particular about them that I should know?
Thank you!
Hi, I'm new to the game, just started playing at the beginning of the month and it was running fine until I went to login today and it just hangs up at the character loading screen after I select to enter the game. I only have 2 characters and I tried loading both. I ran repair, I tried windowed fullscreen mode (which was absolutely unreadable bc it made the screen tiny), I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it.
I ran dxdiag and it says I have directx12. It was working fine until tonight. No idea why it won't work. It never gave me that error before. I closed Steam, closed Glyph, restarted it all and then tried again. It wasn't until the 4th time I had to ctrl alt del to close Rift that it gave the error message. It refused to open the game at that point but then the next time I told it to open it did. I'm on windows 10.
Any idea how to fix this? I saw a post from 7yrs ago but it was not helpful at all.
Update: the problem is gone now. I've been told the servers were down and I hadn't realized it. Don't know why it caused the direct3d error, but I'm glad I don't have to repair or reinstall again and that I was able to login again.
Do I have to do a quest or something before I can leave the starter area and explore the world? I've reached the end of the starter zone and there's just this Stavel Rosso guy saying that the gateway is ready... but I can't go anywhere. :(
I am completing weekly crafting events but not getting crafting lures? Are there some kinds of limits whether you receive the lure or what? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Not played in a long long time, wanted to take a peek - and just looking for some tips
Im on Typhiria shard - EU. is there a better realm to play on with more people even if its US etc?
Hows levelling? I have a 63 mage, and 60 rogue and a handful of random alts from 1-40
How is it as F2P? I was a sub player back then, and even when it went F2P i still subbed a little until i stopped playing.
Any help appreciated on this
Cheers :)
I have ResourceTracker from CadRIFT but when I log in I get a message about "Ansuun uses 4.10v0.2.R" - is this a thing I can actually get or is this just something I should ignore?
Hi all,
I just recently started to vamp up my desire to play MMORPGs again and I'm doing everything in my power to avoid buying the new expansion for WoW + time. One of the games I found that peaked my interest was Rift. It seems very familiar and I excited to have even come across it. I remember when Rift came out. I played on initial launch. I liked it, but at the time, I still wanted something more WoW related. I feel that I took this game for granted as this game to me now feels the most like WoW. My thing is that I've noticed that it's not getting any new content and hasn't for a while. If they're not adding new content, is it even worth playing or investing my time into? I just don't want to end up putting all the effort into the game if it's going under.
hey, i am searching for the warden thrax (planebreaker bastion) voiceline "let us dance" or better in german "lasst uns tanzen". does anyone have a clue where i can find a video or audio piece of that?
I was feeling super nostalgic recently and thought about the old RP community, the folks that were on every day and frequented the Quill in Silverwood. Not to leave out the Defiants, but I didn't get to play too much on that side.
It's been ten years and a lot has happened then, and I'm just wondering if anyone is still around. Longshot, I know.
My character name was Niamh.
This was the week of free Patron promised to those who played on the Public Test Shard.
It is available for everyone who logs in now because not everyone who tried to play on the PTS was able to get in.
Returning to the game after years away. There used to be mounts vendors in different zones. Are they still there? If so, does anybody have a complete list of those vendors? I'd really like to know rather than have to run around (all over again). Any help would be appreciated.
I was just thinking about this a couple days ago. I remember a bug where you would get this healing ability as a Mage from this quest that you were supposed to use to complete this quest. I had a bug where the ability was still there after the quest was completed. Essentially what the ability did was restore your health bar to full. Afaik there was no cooldown on it and I remember being able to take dungeon bosses because of it. It was also very OP in PvP. Just wanted to see if anyone ever had a similar experience.
So I got the quest ‘A Rift A Minute Wide’ and I know how to find a rift tear but I can’t seem to use the Runic Eye on any avatar (it could be because I don’t know exactly what an “avatar” is). If anyone could help that’d be fantastic!
Hi all,
I played rift a few years back, got a 69 rogue and am looking for a guild.
Currently im on EU, but I'm willing to start over on NA in an active guild. I'd like to raid, I touched raiding only for a little while but I loved it.
I occasionally come back to this game for nostalgia, and one thing that has always bothered me was the subtle (sometimes not subtle) input lag for abilities.
For example, I cast Bolt of Light, and once the cast bar finishes, there is about a .5 sec lag before the spell actually shoots towards an enemy. I have noticed this less so for self-targeted spells, but I love to play spellcasters and I hate that the casting feels unresponsive. Is this normal? I dont have input lag issues on any other games.
If there is a solution, please let me know!
I haven't played the game in forever, and my rogue is 62 - the rest are near 50.
I dont remember what I was doing last on any of those characters, and intrepid instant adventure queues seemed dead, no one was in them. just me... lol
I just want to play around the endgame and have fun until the game passes on, idk if people are even left playing it, I saw a few level 70's in sanctum and that was it.
When login in today on my usual shard (EU region) I foud that all my 160+ minions were gone.
Logging out then back in again didn't change anything, nor switching interface language.
Any one else having this issue ??
PS: swithcing servers (realms) between Bloodiron, Brutwacht (now default), Brisesol and Typhiria didn't change anything -- and on a side note it appeared that except Brutwacht there were no players at all on the other servers. Looking like the beginning of the end ?
Update: it appears on the RIFT Discord General channel in English that there were some mishap manipulations at Gamigo moving players/minions around in preparation of servers deletion (Bloodiron?) and KABOOM they messed things up. So I guess we'll have to wait for a restore from backup, if any.
I just got back into Rift and wanted to try Primalist. I created my character, and around level 9, realized I hadn't gotten all the proper soul points. I kept playing, thinking it might fix itself, but got to level 12 and still only had 9 points, and apparently it thought I was level 7, because that was the max I could put into one soul. I sent a message to customer service yesterday, but I don't know if I'll get a response. Seriously bummed; I was enjoying it.
I did try creating new Primalists as both Guardian and Defiant, and with both, found that when starting, I didn't even get the 1 point I should have had at level 1. I created a Cleric, and got the correct points. Has anyone else encountered this problem with a new Primalist? Can anyone tell me if they have the same issue or not? Just wondering if it's broken only for me, or just plain broken.
