Thank you to the 2 sporty bike riders who dressed up as a frog and a bunny in onesies and helmets skins today. I was too slow with the camera but you made my day!!
Hi basically the tittle. Trying to find out if there are any Moto events in Ottawa before the season is over. I know moto social is done but does anyone know if there is anything happening this week?
Sorry I tried asking this on the main Ottawa Reddit page but it’s not working. Hopefully someone can help me out.
Hello everyone, As the title mentioned I’m interested in buying a starter bike from Honda or Yamaha ex some like dual purpose bikes just for the fact that they have more power than Honda grom or so.
Is there is a place to order a new bike from the dealer or so in Ottawa or Gatineau area. Willing to look further too.
Thank you all for the suggestions!
Hi folks, I have a BMW 310GS, looking to get a center stand installed(I have all the parts).
Any good recommendation in Ottawa areas for this type of job? Rather than getting charge for $200 to get it done in dealership? 😂
Potential maintenance such as oil change also needed as well in the future if possible.
Any help is appreciated!
Hello, I’ve been looking for m1 exit courses for the last two months in Ottawa or nearby, however they always seem to be fully booked, when are they usually not so booked up? As I want to ask about when would be the best time for me to do my m1 written test, in collaboration with when I should book the M1 exit test?
Have my M2 exit course next week. I am a fairly confident rider I have about 10k km worth of riding under my belt. Just reviewing some stuff and trying to break bad habits, mainly shifting into neutral when waiting at a stop, speeding, and not accelerating or entering a highway curve too fast.
My question is the course the same as the M1 exit? You have a group of people, take a whole day to learn and then at the end you get tested? Obviously, the test would be on the road and not in a parking lot but is the concept the same? Is it a guaranteed pass with them? I assume this will not be like the M1 exit? They expect you to know how to ride confidently and they are there just to polish up your riding and make sure you can pass? Has anyone failed with them?
TIA!
I got a ninja 650, just got into riding! Anyone wanna go riding? Preferably those that got a sport bike as well, so we can keep up with each other.
Has anyone experienced radiator damage from road debris? Common?
Didn't install the radiator guard because didn't wanna reduce the air cooling of it.
Much love, ride safe.
Hi , I recently got into riding - I have been looking for groups and meetups in Ottawa but the scene is kind of quiet I feel.
Anybody interested in organizing a group Ride tonight? July 12 ?
Around 730-8PM ? Maybe we can meet at TNT Supermarket on Hunt Club and Limebank
Let me know if anyone is interested
Hi all,
I rode a 500R Ninja for 4 years, recently I sold my bike, and let my M2 expire due to no open classes (COVID backed all of them up).
My girlfriend wants to ride a sportbike with a female rider so I am putting feelers for someone who could take her for a small spin around a parking lot or maybe a small neighbourhood (please not going too fast).
I have no problem compensating for your time.
Hopefully, I am not breaking any community rules here.
Thanks from a fellow Bike enthusiast.
Hi all! I’m giving away some oil and 2 filters from my Ninja 300 I sold last year. If anyone wants it let me know. I can meetup near the Ottawa airport.
I just got my bike, it is electric (hope that doesn’t make me a poser of some sort lol) but was wondering if there are people in the Ottawa area (between stittsville, barrhaven and Nepean really) that are down to hang out and ride. I honestly wanna stay off big highways like the 417 but I rode Robertson fine and that’s 80 so no issues going fast lol. I haven’t gone to any proper bike meets yet, they seem intimidating 😅
HMU if you’re down or something! Adding a pic of my bike cause I’m very proud
Hey all!
In a situation where a family member had booked a M2 exit course on accident and is willing to gift it to me so I can do the weekend course and upgrade to a full M. My bike is back home in Muskoka and I’m unable to safety, Insure and get it over here in time for the course next weekend.
Does anyone know of placing that rent smaller bikes that are allowed to be used for these safety courses?
Or an even bigger ask, if anyone here is willing to rent there bike out for the sat/sun of July 6/7 for cash, including a damage deposit for your ease of mind.
I’ve mostly ridden enduros and small 500-750 sport bikes so those would be ideal.
Please let me know if you’re interested and we could meet to chat or call to chat more about it, thank you!
TLDR; Looking for a bike for rent!
anyone in the Ottawa , cornwall area offers private 1 on 1 lessons? it can literally be in a parking lot only i currently hold m1
ps i already registered for the offical course but its all the way in September. and i want to get a little bit riding experience this summer before its too late. if yes please message me thank you all
The June Moto Social event is happening tonight, from 7-9pm, at Ten Toes Coffee House - 1109 Cyrville Road.
Rain or shine. Bike or no bike. They’re putting on a special BBQ for us so if you’d like to come out and make some new friends, enjoy viewing some cool bikes or show yours off to the community: you are invited!
More on the Moto Social: click here.
I am in the ottawa area and looking to book the M1 Exit course to get my M2 license and everything is fully booked. Only found some places for late september.
Is there not more alternatives? Why is it so booked? Is there a way I can do the courses and then do the M2 at a drive test center instead?
Soliciting suggestions for a breakfast spot in Ottawa - either Nepean, Barrhaven, or Stittsville - to host the start of a charity motorcycle ride happening on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024.
The location needs to be able to accommodate 30-40 riders for an early breakfast as the ride to Peterborough. Details about the charity ride can be found here: https://www.realtorscareontario.ca/ride
Anyone know or have suggestions where I could take 1979 two stroke dual sport for some work/safety. It doesn’t need much but everywhere I ask either won’t work on bikes that old or won’t get back to me. Thanks in advance!
Anyone here ride the Pick-Axe Loop starting in Calabogie? I’d love to get some details. Would like to ride it in late June.
Bad on me, I just realized that my helmet was manufactured 10 years ago and probably should have been replaced a couple of years ago.
Other than throwing it in the garbage, does anyone have any recommendations for disposal? I saw online that some first responder organizations will take them for training, but not certain if there is anyone in Ottawa that might be interested.
Just a heads up for those concerned with some of the sediment and whatnot, the sidewalk sweepers as well as street sweepers have started making rounds once again.
Have a wicked riding season!
Hello :) before practicing and acquiring my lisence is there by any chance any place that offers a motorcycle trial? I’ve never in my life ridden before(not even as a passenger) and I would like to at least try slow riding one to see the feel of it.
Thank you
How's it going. 23/m Had my drivers license since 16, full G since 19. On-and-off insurance on multiple vehicles, 1 total on record in early 2019. This spring I want to get into motorcycling, something quirky but cheap like a RC390, SV650S or a K75 (been dreaming abt this for a while!). What can I expect insurance-wise, either individual or bundled with 1-2 cars? Thanks.
New to the sub, is there any day and times that people meet up for group rides in the ottawa south area?
Hey guys I’m wondering if anyone knows where I can rent a bike for m driving text. Or if anyone would be willing to let me rent their bike?
Please share your experience , the tips and the route if possible for a recent M driving test in Renfrew, Ontario.
Hi all,
The owners of the condo I was renting occupied the unit so I was forced to move out and my new place doesn't have a place to put my motorcycle. In all my place hunting I was looking for parking included but it got too close to the end of the month without finding one so I ended up just settling with a place that wasn't ideal but got me out of my old place when I needed to be and just figured I would solve the bike part later. It's currently in a friend's driveway but that's just a temporary solution as I promised him it would only be for a relatively short while. If I don't get it figured out within a few weeks I'll probably just put it into storage and not ride for as long as I live at this apartment which would suck.
I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts for a place I could park/store a bike and actually ride it. It would have to be close enough that I could walk to and from it when I want to ride - I'm in Hintonburg around the Suzy Q area and anywhere within a 10-15 minute walk radius would be OK with me. I looked into Just Right Self Storage but didn't realise all the fluids would have to be drained while in storage, making it an impractical option if I want to pull it out and ride it with any regularity. Ideally indoor/secured but I'd entertain outdoor options as long as they're inconspicuous enough that the likelihood of theft/vandalism falls into the "reasonable" category (I know the chances would never be 0) i.e. the less visibility to the street/foot traffic, the better.
There may not be a practical solution to this but just thought I'd put it out there for anyone who might have been in a similar situation! Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
Looking for some guys to ride with. Im 19 and have a ninja 300, basically just seeking out a ride/hangout group with people/someone similar in age and interests.
Anywhere in Ottawa.
Looking for recommendations of insurance companies/brokers you have had good rates with.
Been calling multiple and getting extremely different quotes from $160 - $500+ per month.
Currently TD is my best deal ($160 - $180), Riders plus second($200 - $220), most others have been absurd prices.
