I do not have any experience working from home or even where to start but need the income and can't work on site. I do have several associate degrees but they are for culinary and hospitality management. I typically work as a kitchen manager or front of house manager. In the last two years my son's health has been an issue. He can be fine one day and then spend the next week inpatient. I don't want to get into specifics but his condition can flare up suddenly and severely. I realize that I cannot be a reliable inperson employee but if I have something that I can do on a laptop even part-time would help my family. I'm not wanting a, "get rich quick scheme" or have any unrealistic expectations. I would be okay with minimum wage if it can help my family. Preferably something that is strictly on a computer and no phone calls because I don't know when I might be sitting in a hospital. I just want advice on what to look for, where to look, what questions I should be asking myself or the employer.
I extended my trip working out of country from end of December to end of January. I haven't informed my manager but that's because I work remote and can take online meetings. The hard part is the time zone difference (Asia vs North America) so I can't always be online when my teammates are online.
I would like to extend my trip til mid February but not sure due to wanting to make sure I'm fully there for my teammates. At the same time, I just came out of a slight burn out and felt I needed a break so instead of taking a full sabbatical, decided to work from a different country/travel and vacay a bit in between.
Should I extend my trip a bit longer or return home?
(I can legally stay longer)
I feel a sense of responsibility to let people know what to expect before you work with Jonathan Gelardi because I've lost so much money trusting this guy. I've worked with him for months trying to make a living as a remote closer. Everything I'm about to say is the honest truth and knowing how defensive he gets, I made sure to take screenshots of all my emails/conversations with him to prove what I'm about to say.
He is mainly focused on top of funnel with his business. He's really charismatic and down to earth when you first talk to him or his sales team. Once you've paid him, his support almost disappears. His responsiveness is TERRIBLE. His excuses get more creative every time. The actual course is a handful of videos of him going over very basic sales tactics that you can honestly find on YouTube for free. I should clarify that I've worked in sales for 8 years and have been a top 10% producer in all 3 sales jobs I've held. I'm accustomed to earning over $100,000 a year.
Jonathan did help me get placed rather quickly, I'll give him that. And I love my boss/the work we do for our clients. However, I've received ONE call audit. I sent him more but he's never actually reviewed them. He's promised me 4 consecutive times that I would have my call review that same week, and each time he literally just ghosts me. I've been waiting 2 months for my second call audit. My close rate has averaged about 20% give or take like 5% and I'm not getting enough at bats. He'll probably tell you that worst case, if the company he helps you get placed with doesn't work out, he'll help you find another. That's a total lie.
I've sent emails to both his personal address and his client support address, sent text messages, messaged on FB, called, left voicemails. Still no call audits. I still get his ads almost every day on IG though. His sales team reaches out IMMEDIATELY when you fill out the form. But as an existing client, it's been 2 months since I received any support from him or his team and I follow up every week.
The facegroup group he talks about was taken down (probably because someone reported it). As I was finishing payment with him he promised it would be back up and running and he'd get me access. Never happened. He promised 12 call audits. "90 days or 12 call audits" literally his words. I have screenshots. I've received one.
I tried coming to him in a respectful way literally just asking for help. I've had to withdraw money from my 401K to stay afloat. Not only was he super defensive, but also disrespectful/unprofessional. This guy has ZERO accountability for his faults.
From the bottom of my heart, I'm just looking out for you guys. I have nothing to actually gain from this. I just want to prevent more people from going through what I went through with this guy. I know you're just looking for a path to financial freedom. I think there's still potential with remote closing. I had a couple good months where I made about $10k (before taxes), but only a couple. It was my boss that helped me do that though, not Jonathan. I'm only pacing for about $50,000 (before taxes) to finish 2024. Nowhere near where he "guaranteed" I'd be.
My best advice is to you guys is to find a more reputable sales trainer. If you want to invest in sale training program, go with someone who will actually support you. I've been using Jeremy Miner's $60 course to try and improve my close rate and it's really good. I got four 2+ hour recorded sales trainings and they're super high level. For $60... I paid Jonathan $3,000 and I got almost nothing.
I'm sure he'll find this and have rebuttal, but don't worry I have the screenshots ready to prove all of this if you guys want to see them.
Hey guys,
I have been looking nonstop for a remote job. I finally am able to take an assessment for a great company. Upon reading the system requirements, I realized I'm not sure if mine is compatible. I'm going to copy and paste what I read. Can someone give me an idea how I can find out if mine is compatible? I am not a tech or computer person. I'm great at customer service, but not IT. This might be a dumb question, but I really need this job. I will switch providers if I have to. Right now, I have T Mobile and an Acer Chromebook. I'm starting over in a new state, my car broke down right after I moved into my new place, and my boss fired me because I couldn't get to work, and I live in a place where uber and lyft are not really available unless you're really lucky, the bus does not go by or near anyone who is hiring. So, remote work is my only reliable way to make a living right now. Here are the requirements for the company, and thank you so much. If you need anymore information, just let me know.

Hey guys, just wanted to ask for your charitable input. I'm desperately seeking a remote job (entry level) so that I can continue staying in Europe and don't have to go to my home country. For context, I'm here on student visa but it ends in 6 months ;(
Without showing you my CV straight up, here are some general aspects that are mentioned: I do have 1 year's experience as a marketing executive at an art gallery. (the title is real, but honestly we didnt use many/any modern marketing programs like hootsuite and that sort. Mainly, the marketing aspect was making visuals (canva/procreate), copywriting (which I did pretty decently, pre-Ai era) and email marketing (once, again, strong writing).
On my CV i mentioned I went for 2 workshops that help you to leverage AI. Also, Im technically a published author on Amazon where I have worked with various softwares and wrote all the content, leveraging on AI (and my own writing sensibillities), as well as Facebook/Amazon Ads. My sales aren't great but my book pages look pretty good as I've garned close to 50 positive reviews. I honestly think I'd thrive in a Content Creation/Copywriting job, or Marketing Job that involves these things.
Do you guys think I sound hireable enough for entry level? Personally, I feel like it can be done. If any of you have the time, I'd appreciate if you could peruse my CV and give me your 2 cents on whether it's good enough.
I created this database of well-funded startups that actually hire remotely. Lots of remote-first companies like Linear, Glide, Pulley that are growing fast.
Please let me know if I missed any good ones.
Side rant - tired of seeing all these paywalled, gatekept lists. This one will always be free and open. If you're building in this space, DM me
Hello! I'm on training process with Simplified Grupo BPO, trying to get an interpreter job. The thing is I can't find any reviews or any person who has worked for this BPO, or any info online. All I can find is their profile on LinkedIn (I applied over LinkedIn) and their Facebook page, which is staring to sound odd. I'm afraid I've been sharing my personal information with a scam. If any of you has an experience to share or is doing the training process well please let me know.

Often, I look at a remote position in say Germany, and then I see at the bottom that fluent German is required, or you have to be already based in Germany.
Is there some easy way to quickly extract or highlight such information? Or preferably filter before you see it?
I also need to extract or highlight such information quickly? Or preferably filter it before I see it?
Another thing I often need to understand is if it is freelance, recruiter or direct.
(I am of course thinking of AI based solutions)
Current job has moved to 5 days a week in office. It is about a 40 minute commute each way, is a desk job and I'm writing or in meetings most days. I am angry that they are forcing us to be in 5 days a week without any flexibility to WFH for doctors' appointments, sick kids, or when I'm ill. I highly dislike my manager and can't wait to tell her I'm quitting due to her RTO mandate.
I just found a new job that's offering 2 days a week in office but the commute time will be 1.5 hours each way. I'd have to take an expensive toll route and pay for parking at the new job. The pay is slightly higher and benefits are slightly better, but the additional earnings would go straight to covering the commute cost. In fact, I'd technically be taking a slight pay cut due to the commute cost.
What do you all think? Would working at home 3 days a week be worth the 2 days of really long and expensive commute? I do plan to keep looking for something hybrid but closer.
Hi people, I'm looking for some content writing jobs, on any topic that can range from history to current affairs. Also proof will be provided that the content is human written and not AI. If anyone has clues about any opportunities kindly help me outπ
Tasmanian sun seems extra brutal so got the pod windows tinted, damn what an immediate difference to the temperature inside
Just got offered my first fully remote position. They want to mail me a laptop. While reading the employment agreement, I see this:
"The Employee acknowledges and accepts that the Company may monitor electronic
correspondence (including email, voice and text messages, as well as sites visited
by the Employee on the Internet) which the Employee receives in the course of
using Company resources in order to ensure the integrity of its information
technology or to prevent or detect criminal behaviour or behaviour which
contravenes employment legislation or other Company policies. The Employee
acknowledges and understands that the Company discourages the storage of any
personal information on its network (including but not limited to computers,
smartphones, tablets, cellular phones, internet and intranet), and any such
information should not be considered private if it has been created or stored on the
network at any time."
What do you guys make of this? How much can they know? Can they monitor what you're typing on your keyboard, your passwords, your camera, take frequent screenshots of your screen, etc?
What are the limitations of this? Seems kind vague...
TL;DR: Tracking 3M+ LinkedIn profiles, S&P 500 firms with RTO mandates face higher turnover, losing skilled, senior, and female employees. Hiring drops, vacancies take longer to fill, and brain drain becomes a major cost.
A "brag doc" is a living document where you track your work accomplishments, skills learned, completed projects, and positive feedback/awards.
Itβs super useful for preparing your resume, interviews, performance reviews, and promotions.
Do you use one? If so, any tips to make it more effective?
I work a remote job and when itβs slow I do surveys to make extra money. I earn $10-20 a week on Attapoll just by doing surveys. If you want to give it a try, use my code "APQCT" at https://attapoll.app/join/apqct for an extra 50 cents when signing up. You cash out your earnings for Amazon gift cards, PayPal, Revolut, or charity. Sometimes it can be a bit annoying because they will disqualify you for no reason, but you can report the survey (settings > help> report survey) and sometimes AttaPoll will send you the survey amount as Goodwill. Also, I recommend doing the surveys with more stars because you will be more likely to complete them
i have reas through a few other posts on this topic but can't seem to find anything very clear/definitive.
i was working remotely for a company for 2 years from 2018-2022. i was then hired by my current company in 2022 as a hybrid employee (states in my offer letter).
as with many others, my corporate parent company just mandated a 5 day a week, 9 hrs per day RTO policy.
also as with many others, returning to office even 4 days a week for 4-5 hrs has sent me back into pretty bad depression, anxiety, adhd, sleep issues, etc. i have been treated for all of these well before my employment with my current employer, but i have never documented these conditions with the company as they were manageable when working hybrid.
so my question is: for a private sector employee that was hired as a hybrid worker with verifiable pre-existing mental health issues that have become severe due to a new RTO policy, do i have any shot of getting an RA (allowed to work hybrid as before) approval?
a followup question is, would the company be legally able to dismiss me for even trying to seek an RA? im even worried about trying this approach bc they might say "well you state here you cant do your job, so we are firing you". if they did that, that must be some type of discriminatory practice, right? to fire/layoff for even trying to get an exemption?
Hey everyone,
I've decided to create a free, all-in-one work-from-home resource hub, and I want your input. As I'm currently on the job hunt myself, Iβve noticed thereβs no single site that pulls together all the valuable companies, resources, and articles in one dynamic and truly helpful place.
My goal is to fix that.
As I discover opportunities and tips, I want to bring them all into one comprehensive site to help others too. But Iβm curiousβhave any of you found a website that already does this effectively? If so, what do you like about it?
Also, for those of you whoβve used sites with paywalls, are you paying for them? If yes, what features behind the paywall are incredibly useful? Do you have any idea what kind of technology or tools they might be using to make those features so valuable?
Iβd love to hear your thoughts and ideas. What would make this your go-to resource for remote work?
Hi, we have 2 dogs so travel only where they can come with us. We plan on driving from the UK to somewhere warm (doesnt have to be hot hot) that we can reach in a few days. Wud like to stay and remote work for 2-3 months in early 2025. Appreciate any tips for a relaxed small town with good food. Thankyou!
USA only! Must be a new user, without having previously downloaded TikTok. Will pay upon completion to cashapp or Venmo! Message or comment to work!
Eta: I ended up getting the desk, but going to hold off on the walking pad for now. Thank you everyone!!
Working from home, second job this way but it's been 9 years since the last one. After 6 weeks I bought a decent chair, I can already tell I need one.
Really considered getting one of those sitting to standing desks and/or a walking pad, but idk if they are really work the money for what I'm training for: back to back calls where I'm constantly using both monitors & wired keyboard & wired mouse (especially since I'm technically seasonal right now). I do want to stay in this type of field, but I also know that if I'm not one of the 10% they'll keep on it may be week-months before I get another.
May I get opinions on if the desk and/or walking pad are really worth it?
Looking for extra work, I suddenly saw a posting for a remote job opportunity, and decided to reach out. There's a lot of red flags I see after having researched, but I'm not sure if it's just paranoia. Can anyone confirm? I may be an idiot for asking this, but I'm desperately trying to find extra work for my family with no luck so I feel vulnerable.
In summary, someone in another city is offering to pay $600 via cheques (he said he can't do e-transfer) to me from a nearby city to evaluate and distribute all incoming and outgoing mail, interact with financial institutions with respect to making deposits and clients satisfaction, maintain a high level of confidentiality in all interactions, and going to store once in a while when they require etc; (Walmart, Dollarama). I would work 4 hours a day with flexible conditions. The employer says he operates a custom home building, and developer and is into buying and selling antiques and artifacts @ wagmanantiques.com .
I can't contact the store for a few days until they reopen, but I assume this is a scam?
Edit: I have their facebook page which is where I saw this posting and it seemed very normal so I was hesitant. Guess I got played.
