Hi I live in Spain but my PS5 is in the UK can I setup remote play to a device in Spain when the PS5 is in the UK or for the first time when setting it up do I have to be close to the PS5?
Are you experiencing any input lag just with some games and not others, and ONLY with the sticks?
I have no problem playing Armored Core 6 with a speed build, but as I play TLOU Remake I sense a huge lag when I look around or I move (and ONLY with those, menu and actions are ok)
Hi. I've seen a few videos covering this subject but none for the hardware I use. I'm trying to play PS4 remote play on my phone and on my PS Vita and the microphone on my headphones doesn't work on neither one wether I connect it to the phone, the PS4 controller or the PS Vita. The headphones and the microphone in it are working just fine on their own, so the problem is something to remote play. Can anyone help me on this?
I moved to the UK and my remote play was working fine but about a week ago it stopped connecting and I get 1 of 3 errors being:
I don’t know why this happened, on the exact same setup which is iPhone 5g mobile data to my iPad worked well and now I get these errors
Also when I check the NAT type in the remote play app I get an error it says Failed(0x8801E1E2)
Any fixes would be appreciated, I’ll try port forwarding tonight although I’ve been playing without it for months.
Does anyone else have an issue where remote play automatically signs in, but it assigns you as a second controller? It's a bit frustrating because it assigns me as player 2 so I can't even play anything because there's no controller response (Needs player 1)
So, I have ROG ally and I can remote play normally using its built-in control, so it is like a portal without haptic feedback. Anyone have the chance to test both the ally and portal? How good is the portal compared to using the Ally, considering I am playing in the same network. I'm planning to buy a portal, but a bit skeptical since my house use wifi 6, Ally support wifi 6 while portal use wifi 5 only. The game I play usually need timing for parry like stellar blade or FF VII rebirth
How do the various Chiaki-NG render presents affect input latency (fast, default, high quality)? Fast looks "ok" but seems to have lower latency. Lowering resolution makes minimal difference. My main test has been using the kicking meter in NCAA 25 where I'm always late but a similar amount using default and high but I'm trying to figure out if changing this setting is the setting that is affecting my lag. I have tried with the HDMI plugged and unpluged from my console as well. I'm on a 5GZ home network with good speeds and stability.
how good is remote play on an imac? i want a ps5 but don’t have space for another monitor so can i use my imac as the main source of playing?
hey guys just like title says, i found a way and made a quick vid on it. all you need is 2 controllers. no software needed. hope it helps. https://youtu.be/Xuo4QyiMzJU?si=DSZ-H3NuH8uikt9I
Hi everyone,
Since the last update in October, I’ve been experiencing an issue where the "Remote Play connected" message won’t disappear from my screen. I’m connected via cable and have a stable internet connection. I’ve also restarted my PlayStation and checked for updates, and the system is up to date.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? If you managed to fix it, could you please share how you did it? I’ve tried the usual method of changing the language settings, but that didn’t work for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
I have been having poor connection when using remote play. I just checked my internet speed and had 30+ Mb/s for download speed. My upload speed isn't great however. I'm lucky if I get 1-2 mb/s upload. Would poor upload speed cause poor video quality and constant disconnections? Anything I can do to improve the quality of remote play?
I am working on getting chiaki set up to use remote play going forward but am worried I have to set it up myself locally, which will not be possible as I won't be able to until sometime next year.
Recently got a ps5 and use remoteplay at my house a lot while I'm in the other rooms or if the TV is being used by someone else. I have made changes in the router to NAT type 2 and allow all the required ports and even set the playstation as highest priority.
I want to be able to connect to playstation while I travel and almost everytime I tried, it failed due to "slow connection speeds" while I'm getting 350Mbps on my cellular. Even my playstation is connected to a 150Mbps WiFi at home. I am not sure what's slow here.
I have been having trouble with my connection to my PS5 on remote play and have heard using Chiaki will help. I am unsure of which on is compatible with the 2021 MacBook and the current Mac OS. Anyone know which one works? I could probably use some help getting it set up as well.
I am wanting to live stream on Tiktok from my PC I have tiktok Live studio and PS remote play. When I open and try to connect PS remote play it always disconnects or tells me that my internet is different and it's not.
My ps5 is not hardwired and is in the basement, my router is upstairs. If I remote play upstairs everything is flawless, if I'm downstairs by the ps5 it's pixelated and laggy. Am I correct in assuming ps5 sends data to router and then router sends it to my remote play device? I'm sorry if this is beyond basic, I was just trying to understand how it works. Does this mean my ps5 has better data transfer than my router? Or the overall distance is too taxing on the network?
Hi all, i would like to play with remote play on my ps5 from work during lunch break. Problem Is that the work wi fi block all gaming sites (can't play Clash of clans neither). I tried to play with my mobile data but is pretty bad, i would like to play from my tablet using the wi fi and maybe a VPN but i have 0 experience and i'm really confused by other answers i found online. Can someone help me? 🙏🏻
I am going on a trip that will take me a ways away, and while I will mostly be busy with my trip, I want a bit of gaming, but I know lag can be brutal even with a good connection when you are so far away.
Any recommendations on ps4 games that are good for that, where time is not a critical factor to be able to play the game so lag is ok (such as a completely turn based RPG with no timed hits function)? Bonus if any are on a good sale on PSN right now.
Getting sound crackling/stutter. Any solutions? switching the sound output doesn’t help! I tried using AirPods as well, did not help! :( I’m away for a month, would love to get this fixed!
I’ve been trying to connect my phone to my ps through remote play but it’s not working and when I try to connect automatically it says “device not found” and when I try to manually put the code in it says “to pair ps4, make sure both devices are on the same network.” Both my phone and ps4 are connected to the same internet and I don’t know what to do, can anyone help?
I had been able to use remote play for about a year now on my PS4, but I have moved recently to a new apartment. I used to have an Xfinity modem and cable box set up and was able to connect to remote play without any issues on both mobile data and other WiFi networks. However, after moving the way internet is provided to me has changed. It’s a high rise that provides internet to all tenants via an Ethernet port that I hooked up to a Netgear WiFi router. I am able to connect when I am on the same WiFi network as my PS4, but not anywhere else. I’m not sure if it’s something to do with the building all using the WiFi or if there are other issues I’m not considering. I don’t know much about port forwarding or the other solutions I’ve read, and am not sure if it would even work with the internet services I’m getting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hello,
I have discovered something and can’t figure it out to solve this.
When use remote play on MacOS it works flawlessly, When use remote play on iPadOS it works flawlessly.
But then, when I play on macOS and turn on the screen of the iPad it isn’t playable anymore because of lagg, Also when play on iPadOS and turn on MacOS it will be buggy and laggy till I turn one device off again.
It have something to do with universal control or something, but if I turn that off it’s the same situation. I think maybe it is to much connections for the MacBook or iPad? Because the MacBook is on WiFi, Bluetooth mouse, Bluetooth PS5 controller and connection through Bluetooth/wifi with the iPad when screen goes on. But if turn off the BT mouse nothing changes in the situation. As cable connected controller doesn’t make a difference either. (I think it’s still connecting through BT, only pairing through cable)
Stage manger wile cause problems sometime but on both devices turned off still same situation. If use an identical macbook that is not on my Apple ID I can play without any lagg with my iPad next to it.
Do I miss a setting or something? I would love to remote play on my MacBook and use iPad to search the web for game information. I want to make a small bag with MacBook, iPad and controller + headset to go to friends and make an easy pop-up/setup lanparty like the old school days, without carrying heavy televisions/monitors and bigass computer units and tons of cables.
Find the perfect bag for it already!
Yes and I know high fps games are impossible to play good with remote play but it’s for the slow stuff.
Equipment: PS5, MacBook Air M1, iPad Pro M4 all on todays latest public software/updates.
Thanks in advance!
I've looked into port forwarding for my router and tried that but still no luck. There's no problem remote playing if I'm on my home Wi-Fi and my PS5 is plugged into Ethernet - but I can't connect nowhere out of my home/home network (on other WiFi's or on my phone). If my PS5 is connected to Wi-Fi it's able to connect outside of my home network but obviously not nearly as consistent and not as good quality.
I've googled port forwarding and tried to add all the recommended ports to be opened/allow PS5's IP address to go through but no luck. Any suggestions on what I might be overlooking or directions to a really clear and recent walkthrough for PS5 wired port forwarding? I tired with the PSremote official app and with PXPlay and with chiaki and have the same results for all of them.
Recently got a new iphone16 and keep getting a 80001fff error while on WiFi. Can connect using mobile data no problem.
I do not have a controller connected, and get the issue even with Bluetooth turned off. Tried removing app completely and redownloading and still the same issue.
My old iPhone14 can still connect via WiFi no problem, as can my PC and iPad.
Looked at my router settings and I can’t see anything that should interfere.
Suggestions?
I have been searching all over and everything using ViGEM is outdated it seems but that’s the only thing I can find. I’m trying to do it for free so if you guys have anything I can use it would be greatly appreciated. I’m on windows 11 for reference.
Hi, probably a lot of people ask this, so sorry in advance if the answer was already given somewhere else.
My problem is that, when i boot up the app, it's really blurry, very much under 1080p, both on my phone and my laptop.
My Wi-Fi is 60 mbps in download and 20 in upload. and the imput lag is minimum, not the best, but it seems way over what is requested. I just cannot see what is the problem.
I'd really appreciate any help. Thank you in advance!
I tried to connect this morning, as it was pairing and attempting to connect this message popped up. What are possible causes and/or fixes for this issue?
As the title says, I'm going to be over 200 miles from my console for a week, can I use remote play as long as I'm connected to wifi?
The PS5 is in a different room to where I'm remote playing, so I thought I'd keep PS4 controller for remote play instead of moving ps5 controller back and forth.
I've connected the PS4 Controller via bluetooth to the computer. But when I open up remote play, I can't control the PS5 screen that shows up. I can use the keyboard to access menu but I can't do it with the ps4 controller.
I've tried DS4Windows but that makes it show up as an Xbox controller as far as I can tell. Edit: I've used the DS4 preset profile to make sure it outputs as DS4 in DS4Windows, but it still doesn't control the PS5.
Is there any way to get it to think that this working?
e.g. making it think it's wired (Laptop only has usb c ports so can't use cable), or making it think it's a ps5 controller
Setup PS5 and PC on same network switch, hardwired Cat5E.
Anecdotally I always seem to dash too late and get hit when remote play, but when playing via my monitor directly, I play "better." I recall having the same experience with another game that requires tight timing, Nioh, where I felt the game is just easier when I play it natively. Same experience with Wo Long on the Xbox when streaming to my PC.
I supposed even with dedicated hardware to do the encoding, there's always an additional latency of maybe ~50ms for the pixels to show up via remote play, so I'd either have to preemptively dash or just play them natively.
