Thoughts on FC Barcelona?

From what I can see it's more of a left-leaning / progressive club, but maybe I am missing something.

Any Left-Leaning Football Clubs in or around Budapest?

Hey!

So I am a guy from India currently living in Hungary. I love football and want to support a team near me. If they have an ultras scene I can enjoy in matches, even better. But given Hungary's political climate most teams to my knowledge have a right leaning flavour.

I used to live in Pécs, another city in Hungary, and supported PMFC (Pécsi Mecsek FC) at the time, they had working class roots and Pécs generally is a very left-liberal city. But since then I have moved to Budapest.

While I am not a full on communist, more DemSoc, I am definitely Antifa and pro working class and I don't mind as long they share one of those beliefs, that is the group I want to surround myself with.

Are there any clubs in or around Budapest that I can find like minded people?

is there something that connects the team you support to your political views?

i think everyone's already used to the usual teams being mentioned when someone asks what are the main communist teams, or left wing teams and stuff, but i guess not everyone is a Livorno, Celtic, St. Pauli, Liverpool supporter lol

so, do the team you support have any connections with left leaning policies, or have left leaning/communist ultras, or anything alligned to your political views? it doesn't have to be something big, neither it have to be a football team, just something you feel that represents at least a little of what you believe

i'm a São Paulo supporter, and i grew up being told that my team was the "rich people" team of the São Paulo state. but as i grew up, but mainly as radicalized in the last few years, i actually found out that São Paulo is actually massively supported by a lot of working class people, especially in the south part of the city (where the stadium is located). not only that, but São Paulo was one of the few brazilian teams that, since it's foundation, never prohibited black athletes from all kinds of sports to train and compete representing them. also, the biggest ultras group, Independente, have a branch called "Bonde do Che" (or "The Che Crew"), that is an openly communist group, that always brings social causes to the stands (they always have flags defending Palestine, or with Che and Fidel's faces). and lastly, to make football accessible to every supporter, the ticket prices for São Paulo games tend to be the least expensive for a big club, which, in Brazil, is a big thing, since most big clubs put the ticket prices through the roof recently, and only rich people tend to go to the games now (our board is not that good, but you take the wins you can get lol)

here are some pictures directly from Bonde do Che's instagram page! (@independente.bondedoche if anyone's interested in learning a bit more about them, and to give credit to them too)

yeah, almost all clubs have troubled things in their past or present, and São Paulo is no different, but let's talk about the good ones!

Is swfc a left wing club

Hi guys I'm just wondering if any of you lot know if sheffield Wednesday is a left leaning club or not because I know sheffield is a quite far left city but we've also had some racist incidents before with for example Darren Moore after the swfc v Peterborough 1st leg. I believe personally we are a left wing club with a few outliers and I am just wondering what you guys think, cheers.

What is the biggest Left Wing football club in the world for someone who wants to watch high quality, top tier football?

I’m getting into football and am trying to find a left wing, preferably communist football team to support. I know there is FC ST Pauli, I also know of Celtic, Liverpool and AS Livorno but it’s hard to decipher who is the most left wing and who is just liberal. I also am facing the issue that although I will support any left wing team I want to watch a team regularly that is playing in a high level league not just a C or D tier league. I’m fine with a team that goes back and forth between A and B tier but I want to find a balance of good, world class football and also far left politics. It seems like some are big successful clubs but are just liberal and some are hardcore communists but play in much lower leagues. So far I’m leaning FC st pauli because they are playing in Germany’s best league this year but AS livorno seem more communist

Argentinos Jrs.

Considering the unfortunate results of the elections in my country, i started to further radicalize, and in that process i found out about that a club with moderate succes was founded by socialists. There is plenty of example of working class clubs in Argentina, like Boca or Colon de Santa Fe (my club), but is nice knowing that one of them is purely socialist, and most importantly their fans are VERY left leaning in my experience.

Looking for some books by or about red athletes, clubs or events. Pictured is considered one of, probably *the*, best books on cricket even by liberal cricket heads.
