So I've finished the original series on Crunchyroll, and am debating on watching the OVAs, I just want to know/hear others inputs on the OVAs. I enjoyed the first season but if this stuff is not Canon I p4obably won't watch it.
Just bought the entire grey witch manga I have the vhs set as well! Looking to get a huge tattoo but need some help from all of you to piece it together!
I just see a wiki post about Deedlit's Tale and there is a manga version of it, but I can't find where to download it in the Wiki page. Is that because no one has translate it or there is no manga version of Deedlit's Tale
Does anyone know for the all weapons achievement if I actually have to farm all weapons? Or can I start a new playthru & cheese this achievement. Been seeing different responses & dont wanna progress to far if I can’t.
Has anyone recently completed the game 100% I'm having issues in cold caves how do I get all the barriers removed so I can freely collect all of the loot I've explored just about everywhere what am I missing?
Hello friends! I recently discovered Record of Lodoss War, after hearing about it for years. I'm heavily into ttRPGs, so I partnered with a friend to write a series of articles trying to reverse engineer the series into useable advice for a gaming table. Please check it out at Watch Well Games!
I also wanted to build up my writing chops, so I'm writing one-page encounters inspired by each adventure on my new Patreon. The entire series will be free, and seems relatively well-received so far.
I'm also looking for as much exposure to the series as possible. I've found a fan translation of the original campaign, but it's been tricky to find the manga and / or light novels. Could I get some recommendations on where to look? Have the manga been translated? Are there particular games that the community recommends?
There's a segment in the 11th opening for BC that looks very much like a similar moment from the opening to Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight. Yuno doing the whole "stand on a thin branch" thing that Parn did.
It's not just the stance; it's way the camera pans as well. Anyone know if that was intentional or coincidental?
Not really expecting a straight answer, but still, I can't unsee it as a Lodoss fan haha.
Been working on a game concept for the past year. Used the lodoss universe for starters, so I could develop the game's mechanics first. The idea was I would create an original story to the game after I'd find a solid game system that would offer much replayability. The mechanics of this game function according to the lore of the universe used for them. So in the case of my game's prototype; The island of Lodoss.
I'm stuck in a rutt now though...
I found a very good game system. Something I dare say is very much original and fun. But my problem is this: Without realising it, developing a game this way... Now my whole game and it's playability rides on Lodoss lore... And it's become sort of impossible to detach my game's system from Ryo Mizuno's world... I could sort play with it and make it it's own thing. I mean, a warrior knight, a healing priest, wizards, dwarves and elves... Anyone can play with that. But that's not so much the problem.
When I say the game is based on the lore of lodoss. It's more particularly, the OVA's timeline I used, as it holds itself as it's own thing, with a beginning and an end. I sort of need this for my game first off, but my project also uses a A LOT of the OVA's political situations and character relashionships as base for much of the mechanics...
Records of Lodoss War, the OVA's in this case, really stand out to me as the most complete and concise medieval fantasy story out there. Lord of the Rings hold his own too I guess. Dungeon & Dragon too of course. Even the universe of Magic the gathering. But for the purpose of my game I needed a strait forward, well established lore, that I knew in and out, so the Lodoss OVA's where my go to option.
But now I'm stuck... I feel like throwing it out there:
How would I go about talking with the right people to publish a new game, based on Records of lodoss war?
I guess I should say my game is not a video game in any ways, and it's not a table role playing game or a deck building game either. Just a good old table game that's all in the box you would buy. Maybe have some expansion packs with time, but yeah, now I'm saying too much I think. Just know it would be a game that would also have a single player mode, and a multiplayer one.
So my concept is solid right now. My dillema though, is if I should scrap the lodoss universe part and just keep my solid mechanics and apply them to my own original fantasy lore?
Or is it even remotely Possible I could get in contact with the right folks, to make a new Record of lodoss war table game a reality?
Upvote this post if you'd like to see a new Lodoss instalment one day?
Idk, like the title says, this is a message in a virtual bottle. So I guess here, the currents that will bring my message to the right eyes, will be all the upvotes. Best I can hope for being just your average nobody with a good idea in mind.
Thx for reading,
Have a good one
I am so sad I want to cry, I wish it wasn't over :(
I randomly stumbled across Adesso e Fortuna on YouTube like 8 years ago and saved the song but never watched the anime. I recently decided that it's time I saw what it was about and now it did NOT disappoint. Now I'm craving more and just ordered The Crown of the Covenant Volume 1. I also did some research on the sub to find out what happens in the future and the ending of the video game with Deed breaks my heart...
I’ve been thinking about them nonstop lately, so today I just decided to fill a canvas with sketches of them!
Also I started reading Crown of the Covenant so I needed to make some content with them where Parn is actually… alive 😭
I've been having a lot of issues with sound desyncs, the animation freezing for a second or two, and the speed of the animation sometimes spiking up randomly while watching the sub version of the OVA on Crunchyroll. I've checked other anime on the app and they're playing perfectly fine and I've seen no talk about these issues on my searches about it so I'm just curious what's up with this
Hey there, as a big fan of the original anime and manga (it was the first anime I watched and recognized as anime back in 92 or 93) I created a tribute hymn/song.
I hope it's to your liking, you can gladly visit my profile for more music, also more anime themed songs (Frieren, Konosuba, Hatsune Miku).
I always believed that the Original is better. Is this the case with lodoss too? I watched a few episodes of the Anime. The old OVA one too. They are very imagination-inspiring. I mean the opening song where the three fearful dragons appear, that old school anime style always gives me goose-bumps. I want to read the original works, the light novels. The first one The Grey Witch is only officially translated into english and other books possibly won't get translated, but there are fan translations.
If anybody here have read the novels or at least some of them, please guide if they are really worth it or are they just some old school D&D troopes.
thanks.
I've just started watching the anime and I like it a lot, but I've heard there are also video game adaptations? I'd like to play these too, does anyone have a guide of where to start?
Good afternoon. I come to ask the reading order about record of lodoss war since I plan to acquire the mangas but the information regarding the title is somewhat diffuse, and I have also seen that it has novels. So, please, if anyone knows the answer, I would appreciate it if you could answer the order....
