1st Illustrated Edition or just an Illustrated Reprint

Wondering if this Poetical Works of John Keats would be considered a regular reprint since it was published years after Keats died by someone who was not his publisher?

The book has a fine binding, so I am under the impression as a 1st illustrated edition, it was seen as a bit better than a regular reprint and nearly close to the earlier editions.

I know that people throw up poetry collections after the poet has died to learn they have no value, so I just wanted to check even though I feel this will receive the same answer.

By the way, it is signed by Keats! Just kidding. Lol

Looking for a rare(ish) volume, J.B. Pick’s ‘Out of the Pit’ 1951

The above title says it all. Looking for a semi hard to find text from 1951 by the author JB Pick, titled ‘Out of the Pit’. There are two copies available online from what I can tell but both are almost grossly over priced from what I’ve seen volumes go for in recent memory. I was wondering if anyone has a copy they were willing to sell or had a lead on. It is not available in a digital scanned format so really looking for a copy to read. It does not need to be in immaculate shape. I’ve put up a search on Vialibri as a start as well. Thank you

Galley Proofs and ARCS.

They're so much rarer. They precede the first and are inexplicably valued at a fraction of the cost.

I LOVE IT!

How Do Rare-Book Dealers Prosper in 2024?

I can't figure out how high-quality rare-book dealers (Peter Harrington, L.W. Currey, etc.) are able to get new stock these days when they can only offer 25-30% of retail to a seller. Because they deal in high-end merchandise, they must also have to deal with knowledgeable sellers, and why would a knowledgeable seller accept about half of what they could get from auctioning the collection? Other than getting the money immediately instead of in a month or two, is there any advantage to selling a collection to dealer instead of working with an auction house?

[Seeking advice] Favorite Recipes of Mainliner Chefs - 1954

Admittedly not a standard collectors piece, but I've been trying to hunt this little book down for about 6 months now and I haven't had it pop up anywhere once.

Does anyone have advice on how to set up better alerts or alternate places I can look besides the sidebar sites?
